- Running Gag: Kirito just keeps getting stabbed, mostly by Asuna.
- Single-Attempt Game: It uses the same premise as its source material, that "players die when their avatars do", in Sword Art Online.
- Stepford Smiler: Asuna keeps her smile on most of the time, even when she's furious.
- The Stoic: Kirito, but it's just to hide his soft and squishy interior.
- Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour: Silica is only 13, but she's already an incredibly experienced fighter, and she curses like a sailor until Kirito steps in.
