L.O.V.E vs. H.A.T.E is a series of fanfics from author Cartoonofan on FanFiction.Net, which are a series of crossovers featuring a number of cartoons.

The stories in the series so far are:

L.O.V.E vs. H.A.T.E #1: A New Beginning: Princess Twilight Sparkle and company are summoned to Canterlot and learn that a mysterious book containing spells that allow the user to travel to other worlds has been stolen from the castle library. Using a spell that allows travel to other worlds, Twilight and her pony friends soon meet a new batch of friends, including strange creatures known as "humans," and must track down the book thief.

L.O.V.E vs. H.A.T.E #2: It's All Greek to Twilight: Several members of L.O.V.E travel to the small Canadian town of New Olympia when they hear that Chrysalis plans to form an alliance with a local villain there. Soon, they meet a group of 7 teens, the villain's enemies, and join forces to prevent the alliance, while Twilight studies the similarities between Equestria and this world.

L.O.V.E vs. H.A.T.E #3: Twilight in Neitherland: Members of H.A.T.E kidnap the young Lydia Deetz to force her friend, the "ghost with the most" Beetlejuice, to juice their enemies for them. Twilight & Starlight find themselves trying to find the perfect way to deal with the pun-happy ghost, while Lydia attempts to escape her captors in hopes of stopping BJ before he goes too far.

L.O.V.E vs. H.A.T.E #4: The City of Fights: When a new exchange student appears in Paris, Marinette is quick to befriend her, but becomes suspicious when two new superheroes appear in town at the same time. Meanwhile, the forces of H.A.T.E are searching for the source of a group of strange monsters that have been reported, only for Peepers to become one.

In addition to the main stories, the series will also feature several "side stories," which are shorter stories set in between the numbered ones usually focusing on characters who don't appear in the main ones.

Overall

• Intercontinuity Crossover / Massive Multiplayer Crossover: The stories are examples of both.
• Mirroring Factions: The main focus of most of the works is the ponies learning that "humans" and the others they encounter share many of the same values and ideals.
• Orcus on His Throne: Unlike Twilight, Chrysalis will rarely participate in the adventure, usually relying on the other villains to handle things for her.
• Rule of Cool / Rule of Funny: Why do the ponies keep their normal appearance and powers in these different worlds? Cause it makes for funnier situations and better drama.

A New Beginning

• All Girls Like Ponies: WordGirl sure does, as Starlight soon learns.
• Big Damn Heroes: The denizens from all the different worlds the ponies visited, pull one of these to save the Mane Six & Spike.
• Casual Danger Dialogue: As the big fight rages on between the heroes & villains, McFist takes the time to talk with Dr. Octopus and even offers him the chance to replace Viceroy.
• Continuity Nod:
  • The story is set shortly after the events of "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic S5 E26 "The Cutie Re-Mark – Part 2"" so Starlight Glimmer participates on the quest as well.
  • Twilight notes that she's been to another world before.
• Evil Plan: Chrysalis's is to gather together a group of villains from various worlds and use to them conquer Equestria and every other dimension in existence, giving her so much love to feed off, that she'll be unstoppable.
• Fun with Acronyms: Although not mentioned in the story, LOVE stands for "The League to Oppose Villainous Endeavors" while HATE is short for "Headquarters of Anarchy, Terror & Extortion"

• Odd Friendship: Much of the story is the ponies becoming friends with the strange characters they meet.
• Plot Tailored to the Party: With a few exceptions, the ponies usually visit a world with characters who they can easily bond with.

It's All Greek to Twilight

• Been There, Shaped History: Discord tells Twilight that all the Greek mythology-themed monsters that inhabit Equestria were created by him, after he was banished there by the gods. Given his personality though, he might be lying.
• Big Damn Heroes: Spidey & Ben show up to save the day, although that's exactly what Twilight planned for.
• Bound and Gagged: Theresa & Atlanta, obviously.
• The Cameo: Discord makes an appearance in the penultimate chapter to mess with Twilight.
• Capture and Replicate: Part of Chrysalis's plan is to kidnap Theresa & Atlanta, replace them with Changelings, then use them to weaken Jay & Archie.
• Commonality Connection: The heroes, specifically the ponies, find themselves bonding with members of the Titans, due to similar personalities/interests.
• Curb-Stomp Battle: The Titans first battle against the agents of H.A.T.E.
• Damsel out of Distress: Theresa & Atlanta manage to free themselves, but rather than escape, allow them to think they're still helpless so as to surprise them later.
• Glowing Eyes: At the end of the third chapter, Theresa & Atlanta are said to have them, which reveals that they've been replaced by Changelings.
• Leaning on the Fourth Wall: The characters will often comment on how people in New Olympia sound like those they know in Equestria (for example, Twilight notes that Theresa reminds her of Starlight). This is because both shows share a production company ^note  Although Class of the Titans was produced back when DHX Media was called Studio B Productions and several voice actors.
• Mythology Gag: To keep from attracting undue attention, Twilight uses several ID masks to disguise herself and her pony friends, which give them human forms similar to the ones from My Little Pony: Equestria Girls.
• Oh, Crap!: Rainbow's reaction when she finds out her ID Mask failed and her true Pegasus form was exposed in front of a group of humans. Fortunately for her, they're quite familiar with Pegasi, though they've never seen a rainbow one.
• Play-Along Prisoner: In the final chapter, Theresa & Atlanta allow the villains to believe they're still tied up and helpless, so they can ambush them when the time is right.
• Spotting the Thread: Twilight figures out that Theresa is actually a Changeling in disguise when she realizes she doesn't remember anything about the conversation regarding destiny they had earlier.
• Villain Ball: Cronus & Chrysalis would've won, if they hadn't decided to draw out their enemies fate, instead of finishing them off right away.

Twilight in Neitherland

• Bag of Kidnapping: How Snaptrap ends up kidnapping Lydia.
• Bench Breaker: Lydia escapes after smashing the chair she's tied to.
• Blatant Lies: BJ telling Jacques he didn't steal his mail.
• Brick Joke: After seeing Wander, BJ comments on his similarity to the Monster Across the Street. At the end, Twilight & Starlight meet the Monster and note his resemblance to Wander.

• Cool and Unusual Punishment: The villains finally break Lydia by forcing her to listen to Larry talking for a long time.
• Damsel out of Distress: After convincing Larry to loosen her ankle bonds, Lydia eventually manages to escape and heads to the Neitherworld, but she gets captured yet again.
• Even Evil Has Standards: When Khyber brings up killing Lydia once she's served her purpose, Snaptrap points out that even he wouldn't be willing to kill a young kid.

• If I Had a Nickel...: Lydia tells Larry that if she had a dime for every time she'd been kidnapped by some villain planning to use her to get at Beetlejuice, she'd have at least two months allowance.
• I Have Your Wife: H.A.T.E eventually sends BJ a video revealing they've kidnapped Lydia to force him to do their bidding.
• Jumping the Shark: A literal example, which BJ naturally lampshades.
• Literal-Minded: When Twilight tells Beetlejuice to tell her the whole story (of why he was forced into terrorizing them), he instead starts by telling her his afterlife story.
• The Kindnapper: Larry is the only one of her captors to treat Lydia nicely, removing her gags, allowing her to have water and loosening some of her bonds.
• Odd Friendship: Twilight tries to get Starlight to form one of these with one of the other heroes, as part of her latest lesson. After seeing how Lydia & Beetlejuice have one, Starlight notes how similar it is to what she was trying to learn.
• Paper-Thin Disguise: When Snaptrap & Peepers arrive at the Deetz house, Snaptrap claims they are house cleaners, despite them only wearing jumpsuits and a fake mustache. Naturally, Lydia sees right through their disguise.
• Play-Along Prisoner: The heroes pretend Beetlejuice has captured them so he can turn them over to H.A.T.E, and then they can foil them.
• Shout-Out: BJ does several to Jaws when he rescues Lydia from the sharks.
• Would Hurt a Child: Khyber has no problem killing Lydia after Beetlejuice accomplishes his mission.
• You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: The villains plan to dispose of both Lydia (via shark tank) and Beetlejuice (by sending him back to the Neitherworld) once both have served their purpose.

The City of Fights

• Bound and Gagged: Chloe, after the villains take her as a hostage.
• Brainwashed and Crazy: Eye Guy's powers are to control anyone who looks at his eye into doing his bidding.
• Breaking the Fourth Wall: Pretty much a requisite when Freakazoid is on your team.
• …But He Sounds Handsome: While walking with Marinette & Alya, Becky sings the praises of WordGirl, her own alter ego.
• The Cameo:
  • Queen Chrysalis appears briefly, via hologram, berating her minions for their failure.
  • Twilight Sparkle appears in Becky's flashback when she explains how she was enrolled in high school.
• Clark Kenting: Discussed by WordGirl; after Freakazoid questions why Marinette & Adrian don't recognize each other in their superhero personas, WordGirl points out that, though Ladybug looks similar to Marinette, her personality is different enough that it could deflect suspicion.
• Commonality Connection: Marinette & Becky eventually bond over being young superheroes who have to hide their secret from their families.
• Curb-Stomp Battle: When the H.A.T.E members face off against Ladybug, Cat Noir and their new allies, they get their asses easily handed to them. ^note  This is most likely due to Fishface and Lord Hater being the only ones doing the fighting, as Dr. Two-Brains is too afraid of Cat Noir to be of any help and Lobe can't fight worth crap.
• Demoted to Extra: While Cat Noir appears a lot, Adrian himself only makes one appearance. Word of God is that the author finds him boring and didn't know how to write for him outside of his alter ego.
• Exactly What I Aimed At: When fighting Hater, Cat Noir uses his Cataclysm on an awning. Hater mocks him for missing only to find out that's what he wanted to hit, as it was filled with water to short Hater out.
• Famed In-Story: The akumas are apparently known outside of France, as H.A.T.E is there to find the source and control it.
• Fastball Special: Averted; Freakazoid tries to get WordGirl to do one of these, but he just says a move number without elaborating what to do, which she points out.
• Greek Chorus: WordGirl & Freakazoid are this as they occasionally watch the two Miraculous holders fight and comment on it.
• Green-Eyed Monster: Marinette becomes jealous after the news media focuses on WordGirl and Freakazoid and not on her and Cat Noir.
• Lampshade Hanging: After both girls transform, WordGirl notes that they don't actually put on their costumes, and how they just appear out of thin air somehow.
• Oh, Crap!: Marinette, when she hears Freakazoid commenting on her transformation, and realizing someone saw her change into Ladybug.
• "Not So Different" Remark: Becky says this about Rose and Violet, noting how they both have short blonde hair, bubbly personalities, and flower-themed names.
• Police Are Useless: Although Roger arrests the villains once the heroes defeat them, he is unable to keep them in custody, and they escape to wreak more havoc.
• Secret-Keeper: Marinette & Becky become one for each other, after learning each other's secret identities.
• Shout-Out: Freakzoid & Cosgrove go to see Avengers: Infinity War at one point.
• Skewed Priorities: After the villains see Peepers, now turned into an akuma, Hater is more concerned over whether Peepers got him his latte he asked for.
• Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Two-Brains and Hater barely get along, and only their cohorts stop them from coming to blows.
• Who's Laughing Now?: Peepers main reason for becoming Eye Guy is to exact revenge on Hater for his shabby treatment of him.
