Izuku's Precious Villains is a My Hero Academia fanfiction by SugarButterfly432.

Izuku moves into a new apartment in a new city. He hopes to get along with his new neighbors well. And maybe become friends with them, too. But what he doesn't know is that his apartment is the hangout of evil, supervillains. But are the villains ready to handle a Quirkless boy whose smiles are brighter than the sun itself? Manga spoilers.

You can read the story here and here.

This fanfic provides examples of:

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Because All Might never changed his mind about Izuku, he never developed his canon father/son relationship with him.
    • After he moves into the apartment, Izuku begins to have a close relationship with Tomura, Kurogiri, and Shuichi while in canon they're enemies.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Shuichi appears in Chapter 6 after saving Izuku from three human traffickers.
  • Adaptational Wimp: In canon, Izuku can hold his own in a fight thanks to One For All. Here, however, Izuku is Quirkless and needs other people's help to defend him.
  • All of the Other Reindeer:
    • Much like in the canon series, Izuku has been treated as an outcast by his entire class due to his lack of a Quirk.
    • Shuichi was treated like a monster because of his lizard appearance since his Quirk was a mutant type back in his hometown.
  • Asshole Victim: Five of Izuku's bullies were captured by Kurogiri with their fates remaining unknown. It's later revealed that they were turned into Nomus by Dr. Daruma Ujiko after the girl express her hatred for Izuku while the boys promised that they won't bother Izuku again as long as they lived.
  • Beware of the Nice Ones: Izuku might be a nice and kind young boy, but even he can get mad. Especially when you disrespect the older Pro Heroes.
  • The Bully:
    • Just like in canon, when they were kids, Bakugo bullied Izuku mercilessly after his Quirk manifested and Izuku's didn't. He often belittles Izuku or uses his Quirk if his former friend angers him, even by accident. Bakugo even threatens to hurt Izuku if he ever sees him on U.A. campus, which he nearly does on their first day of high school. He is only stopped by the arrival of Aizawa.
    • Izuku has five of his classmates picking on him, especially the only girl in the group. They check out the books of the early heroes from the school's library that Izuku wanted to see and draw on them just to spite him. They even follow him to his apartment complex and beat him up before Tomura and Kurogiri arrive and scare them off. Unfortunately for them, their torment of Izuku is what led them to be kidnapped by Kurogiri and turned into Nomu, with Shigaraki using them for his upcoming attack at U.A. High.
  • Bystander Syndrome:
    • Subverted and played straight. When Izuku was nearly kidnapped by three men who were going to sell him, he called for help. However, his cries were ignored since the people there stated that it wasn't their problem. He does get rescued by Shuichi who hears his plea for help.
    • Although the heroine Lightning Strike did feel genuinely sorry for Izuku after seeing how people treated him, she did nothing to truly help him and allowed the abuse to continue.
  • Childhood Friends:
    • Like in the canon manga and anime, Izuku and Bakugo were this. Until Bakugo developed an ego and bullied Izuku so mercilessly that their friendship ended.
    • Unlike their sons, Izuku and Bakugo's mothers still kept their friendship lasting into their adult lives.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: There was one girl in the group of five bullies who picked on Izuku. This is because she had a crush on Bakugo and was seemingly jealous that Izuku was getting his attraction. It's also implied that she got the other four to pick on Izuku as payback for this.
  • Dark and Troubled Past:
    • Izuku's one of the 20% of the world born without a Quirk. As a result, he was bullied and abused by his peers for being weak. His closest friend since childhood became his main bully. His mother was kind and loving to him, but she didn't know how to support him in his dream of becoming a hero. The years of endless mistreatment had caused him to be a nervous wreck. When he met his idol All Might by pure luck, Izuku learned that his hero was nothing more than a mask to keep people at ease. His hero would then tell him that it was dangerous to be a hero without a Quirk, telling the boy to become a police officer instead.
    • Shuichi was hated by everyone in his hometown for simply being a mutant, which was something out of his control. He even refused to leave his house to face his abusers. It's implied that it got so bad that he had to move out of town.
  • Disappeared Dad: Like in canon, Izuku's father Hisashi Midoriya isn't mentioned by his wife or son.
  • Do with Him as You Will: Kurogiri told Dr. Ujiko to do as he pleases to the five students that were picking on Izuku after the only girl express her disgust and hatred for him, with it becoming the only thing she ever said.
  • Good Is Not Soft: In chapter 7, both Death Arms and Kamui Woods harshly chewed out Izuku for putting himself in danger to save Bakugo.
  • Good Parents: Just like in canon, Inko is loving and caring towards her son Izuku. She's also supportive of him moving on his own despite his young age. She's also allowed Izuku to spend the nights if he wants to (although that was because of the report of the five kids that went missing a few days ago).
  • Green-Eyed Monster: The girl who was one of the bullies that messed with Izuku seemed to be this.
  • Just a Kid: When Mt. Lady defended Izuku from Death Arms and Kamui Woods, she told them to go easy on him since he was just a kid.
  • Lack of Empathy: The older high school boy who tried to make a meme out of the man with the bull Quirk. Even when Izuku tries to reason with him about how wrong it was, the older boy only said that the man still broke the law and fought both Death Arms and Kamui Woods despite Izuku trying to tell him that the man must have failed to take his pills.
  • Lizard Folk: Shuichi is this. He was an outcast for his whole life due to society's prejudiced views on mutant-type Quirks.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Izuku has no idea that his neighbors and landlord are supervillains who are planning to kill All Might and destroy the hero society.
  • Minor Living Alone: In the first chapter, Izuku moves out of his mother's apartment and goes to live by himself. However, he does have Kurogiri to look after both him and Tomura.
  • Morality Pet: Izuku is becoming one to Tomura Shigaraki, Kurogiri, and Shuichi (otherwise known as Spinner).
  • Nice Guy: Izuku as usual. He's very sweet and friendly towards everyone that he meets. He's even nice to the villains who are shocked that someone like him is willing to be kind to them.
  • Oh, Crap!: The bullies had this reaction when Tomura showed them his Decay Quirk.
  • Only Friend: Izuku is this to Shuichi. The latter had never once had a friend before due to his lizard mutant Quirk. It's implied that Izuku's also this to Tomura. It even stated that Tomura had never spent time with someone his own age before, with Izuku being the closest to his age group.
  • Original Character:
    • Lightning Strike is a hero character in the story, while she doesn't exist in canon.
    • The students of Class 1-H are created for the story, with the exception of Mei, who's the only known student there in canon.
  • Point of Divergence: Because All Might never saw potential in Izuku, he never gained One For All, never entered UA's hero course, and instead tried out for the support track.
  • Repressed Memories: Just like in canon, Tomura has repressed memories. He states that the warmth that he also feels with Izuku is familiar somehow and that someone used to give it to him as well.
  • Robot Buddy: The robot from the entrance exam seems to have taken a liking to Izuku. After Izuku finished his final test of the exam, it tried to follow him home but was grabbed by Power Loader before it could even leave the campus.
  • Spoiled Brat: All five of Izuku's bullies were from wealthy backgrounds. Unfortunately for them, their money couldn't get them out of trouble with the League of Villains who kidnapped them and turned them into Nomus.
  • Too Dumb to Live: The bully girl, who hated Izuku and was extremely jealous of him having Bakugo's attention on him instead of her, ended having her and her friends getting turn into Nomus.
  • Tragic Dream: Izuku's greatest dream was to become a hero like All Might, always saving people with a smile on his face. However, unlike in canon where he impressed All Might and changed his mind about being a hero, here All Might had only come to see Izuku after getting away from the reporters to tell the boy that his actions were dangerous, thus destroying Izuku's dream, though he does feel bad about it.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Both Izuku and Bakugo are childhood friends like in canon. Their friendship came to an end as Bakugo became a bully to Izuku as they got older.
