I'll Follow You Forever
is a Transformers story written by Darksidekelz.
Megatronus was outspoken, and full of dangerous ideas, ideas that only a mech with nothing to lose could afford to indulge in. And that was why Soundwave hated him.
The story contains Megatron/Soundwave and Megatron/Starscream.
Tropes featured in I'll Follow You Forever include:
- Actually, That's My Assistant: When Starscream meets Soundwave for the first time while sparring with Megatron, he believes that Soundwave is one of Megatron's pets and calls him "floozy." Megatron immediately states his rank.
- Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Ratbat spends his last moments begging Megatron for his life, offering power and weapons. Megatron doesn't buy it.
- Ambiguously Evil: Shockwave. He is allied with Decepticons, but his motives are unclear. He later explains his reasons to Soundwave, insisting that he is loyal to Decepticon cause.
- The Before Times: The story tells about the time before the War between Autobots and Decepticons.
- Belligerent Sexual Tension: The very first chapter involves the battle between Megatronus and Soundwave as gladiators. After this part, they are True Companions.
- Benevolent Boss: Soundwave toward his Minicons. He treasures them like a family and will never let anyone harm them.
- Crazy Jealous Guy: Soundwave. He would never admit it but deep down he dislikes Orion Pax because how close he is of Megatron. Later, he also does the same when Starscream is in the picture. Once again, he doesn't admit it.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Soundwave loves his cassettes and is devastated by Frenzy and Rumble's fate. He and Megatron also care deeply for each other. Even though Megatron doesn't show it much, he always compliments Soundwave's hard work and Orion Pax even said how Megatron was worried when Soundwave was captured.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Nobody likes Ratbat because how corrupted and treacherous he is. Even Shockwave is disgusted of him.
- Family of Choice: Soundwave and his cassettes. Even after Frenzy's death and Rumble's reformatting mostly because Soundwave's mistake they stay together.
- Karmic Death: Ratbat dies from Megatron's hands in the chapter 13. Soundwave also kills the guard who murdered Frenzy.
- Please Dump Me: The moment where Megatron and Soundwave are about to consummate their relationship, Soundwave feels it to be wrong and just asks Megatron to come back to Starscream. Unfortunately, Megatron doesn't take it very well but fulfill his demands. Soundwave regrets it later however.
- Shoot the Dog: Soundwave killing Blaster. Although Soundwave didn't wish to kill him, he knew that the Senate wouldn't leave him alone. This, and because Blaster was still on Ratbat's side.
- Shockwave views Soundwave's upgrade this way.
