When Izuku was 8 years old, a mishap with a a classmates Quirk made him disappear from his homeworld.
At the same time, Eris Morn’s was having the worst day of her life as her fire team attacked Crota in the Hellmouth.
Neither knew it then, but that day would change both of their worlds futures.
This fic demonstrates examples of:
- Adaptational Early Appearance:
- Hiraks, the very same guy who becomes known as the Mindbender in Forsaken, shows up as Izuku's mentor on how Eliksni society operates when they run into each other in the Hellmouth.
- Riven shows up far earlier than canon when Izuku makes first contact with her via one of the drones he sent through the portal he made in his bedroom at the Tower.
- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: It's implied that Bakugo is still Izuku's friend given how his thoughts are implying that he's striving to become a hero that Izuku would be proud of.
- Alternate Self: The Mighty Hydras fireteam is composed of alternate-dimension versions of Mina Ashido, Katsuki Bakugo, Ochako Uraraka, Shoto Todoroki, and Izuku Midoriya who are Guardians in service of the Vanguard.
- Awesomeness by Analysis: Izuku uses his analytic skills to create an entire dossier on hunting the Hive during his time in the Hellmouth, enabling him to exploit their weaknesses in combat with ease.
- Because You Were Nice to Me: Riven befriends Izuku rather easily since he's the first person to ever treat her with kindness ever since she was bound in servitude to Mara Sov.
- Black Speech: Hive speech is described as something that simply hurts to listen to, and considering how the Hive are Darkness-using Omnicidal Maniac space zombies wielding dark magic, it's all too fitting for their language to be just as messed up as they are.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Although Izuku uses Hive magic, he is unambiguously on the side of good here. Part of this is because his Quirk prevents him from being affected by any form of psychic manipulation, which means that he can use Hive magic without being corrupted.
- Hoist by Their Own Petard: Izuku is an expert at doing this to the Hive thanks to his skill with Hive magic.
- Immune to Mind Control: Izuku's Quirk combines this with Psychic Block Defense, allowing him to use Hive magic without being corrupted and shrug off the effects of Hive spells.
- Ship Tease: So far, there have been a few hints of Riven and Izuku starting to have feelings for each other that may just go beyond mere friendship.
- Trapped in Another World: Soma Eichiro ends up teleporting Izuku into the Destiny universe thanks to the dimension-warping properties of Soma's Quirk.
- The Unsmile: When Riven disguises herself as a human girl named Evelynn, Izuku notes that her smile in that form looks a bit too predatory to be normal.
- Villain Takes an Interest: Savathun is quite amused to find out that Crota was killed and absorbed at Izuku's hands, electing to watch his actions with great interest.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Eris Morn calls Zavala and Ikora out on distrusting Izuku despite all the help he's provided to the Tower after he absorbs Crota's power, telling them that even Light-users such as Guardians got stronger from the events at the Hellmouth in a similar fashion to the Sword Logic.
