This story contains examples of:

     Tropes #-F
  • Action Prologue: The battle against the Kree.
  • Action Film, Quiet Drama Scene: Gamora and Peter talking after Corvus is captured and the Soul Stone is stolen.
  • Adam and/or Eve: Adam is the obvious example, while his love interest is named Eafen, a corruption of Evening.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Corvus refers to Gamora as "Little 'Mora"
  • Anachronic Order: Due to the reboot, the new version is released after both Sam Wilson: Captain America and Captain Marvel: Phalanx, despite taking place before and leading into both.
  • Amazing Technicolour Population: Gamora is green, Nebula and Proxima are blue, and the Sovereign are gold.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Nebula and Gamora both serve as this to Corvus.
  • Battle Couple: Quill and Gamora, Corvus and Proxima.
  • Badass Boast: Corvus gives one hell of a speech to Raker when Raker is attempting to interrogate him.
Corvus: "Oh, please. I was old when your society evolved beyond breeding, something so ancient to you that it has faded into myth and tradition. I have fought countless battles, died countless times, experienced pain beyond anything you can possibly comprehend. Here I am, today, still alive."
  • Badass in Distress: Corvus is captured by the Sovereign, who intend to use him to make immortal soldiers. Given his immortality and blasé attitude toward it all, he's not actually in that much trouble.
  • Bad Boss: Ayesha belittles Raker, which leads to him siding more and more with the Magus.
  • Big Bad: The Magus.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Ayesha, who is quickly supplanted by the Magus
  • Big Brother Mentor: Corvus reflects on his role as one to Gamora and Nebula.
  • Big "NO!": Gamora's lets one out as she hangs from the cliffs of Vormir.
  • Brother–Sister Team: Corvus and Gamora team up to take on the Universal Church of Truth because the rest of the team are drunk out of their minds.
  • The Bus Came Back: After being absent in Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime) and the original take of the story, Kraglin returns.
  • The Cameo: Both Bruce Banner and Crystal of the Inhumans make one in the first chapter, while the Silver Surfer shows up in the fourth.
  • Canon Welding: Thanks to mentions of Arishem the Judge, Eternals, and an Emergence on Earth in Chapter 11, this fanfiction has brought Eternals into the MCFFU.
  • Cargo Cult: The Universal Church of Truth worship the Soul Stone.
  • The Chessmaster: The Magus, manipulating the Sovereign's actions for his greater goals.
  • Continuity Nod: Bruce Banner shows up in the Soul Stone, talking about his Snap in Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime).
  • Decomposite Character: The Sovereign's similarities to the Universal Church of Truth in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) are used to make said Church a subset of the Sovereign.
  • Doomed by Canon: Due to Late-Arrival Spoilers in other stories, Drax is fated to die.
  • The Dragon: Cardinals Raker and Arokine serve as Ayesha's, though Raker is The Starscream. Raker then later serves this role for the Magus.
  • Drunken Song: The Guardians, sans Gamora and Corvus, sing Crocodile Rock while drinking.
  • Equivalent Exchange: Banner is confirmed to have traded his soul for Gamora's.
  • Evil Gloating: Both Raker and the Magus are very prone to these, monologuing to each other or to their prisoners.
  • Family of Choice: Gamora refers to the Guardians as her dysfunctional family.
  • Foregone Conclusion: Due to spoilers in stories that take place afterwards, readers will know that Adam obtains the Soul Stone, Drax does not survive, Groot gets the power of Thor, and Corvus and Proxima don't get their quiet retirement.
  • Funny Background Event: Corvus and Gamora having a serious conversation is given the backdrop of the rest of the team drunkenly singing Crocodile Rock.

     Tropes G-M
  • Happily Married: Corvus and Proxima.
  • I Like Those Odds: Said word for words by Corvus when he and Gamora come face to face with the Universal Church of Truth.
  • In-Universe Soundtrack: As typical for Guardians media.
    • 'Sweet Caroline' plays and is sung along to by multiple Guardians during the opening battle.
    • Every Guardian, sans Gamora, sings at least some part of 'Crocodile Rock'.
    • Quill and Gamora dance to 'Annie's Song'.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: The deaths of Rocket and Bruce Banner in Avengers: Endgame (Dragonis Prime) are spoiled in the first chapter.

     Tropes N-T
  • Not So Above It All: Gamora joins her fellow Guardians in singing part of Sweet Caroline. Nebula initially objects... Until she and Gamora realize that they can annoy Corvus by doing it. Corvus also counts when he sings a single line of Crocodile Rock to Troll the drunk Guardians.
  • Orwellian Retcon: The entire story has been rebooted in favour of a more expansive take.
  • Overly Long Gag: The Guardians fighting the Kree set to 'Sweet Caroline', complete with singalong.
  • Practically Different Generations: The four children of Thanos very much apply. Corvus and Proxima are somewhere around 3500 years old, while Gamora and Nebula are in their early thirties.
  • Religion of Evil: The Universal Church of Truth which worships the Soul Stone.
  • Resurrective Immortality: Corvus has this thanks to his glaive.
  • Saved by Canon: Due to their appearances in later stories, Corvus, Proxima, Mantis, Groot, and Nebula's safety is guaranteed.
  • Sinister Minister: Cardinal Raker, as a religious leader for a cult.
  • Straight Man: Corvus is the serious foil to the much more quirky Guardians. Gamora and Proxima are also ones to a lesser extent.
  • Superheroes in Space: They are the Guardians of the GALAXY, after all.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Downplayed, but Corvus is clearly a little annoyed at having to work with the Guardians.
  • Titled After the Song: The chapter titles are this.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Kraglin is accomplished enough with the Yaka Arrow to wield it in combat.
