Freaky Fabulous Pretty Cure
is a crossover fanficion between Monster High and Pretty Cure. It is penned by NoonboryKedabory and began publication on September 16th, 2023.
Years ago, there was a group of ghouls attending Monster High known as the Groovy Ghouls Pretty Cure, each with their own special powers. In the present day, their mascots have reawakened to form a new generation of Cures, who call themselves the Freaky Fabulous Pretty Cure.
Currently, the Freaky Fabulous Pretty Cure team consists of:
- Frankie Stein - The all-loving new ghoul in town. She inherits lightning powers from Cure Bloody and transforms into Cure Freaky.
- Draculaura - A dreamer at heart, who has been attending Monster High for centuries. She inherits love powers from Cure Corpse and transforms into Cure Smooch.
- Clawdeen Wolf - A Hot-Blooded fashionista with a heart of gold. She inherits moonlight powers from Cure Terror and transforms into Cure Fierce.
In The Kedabory Verse's lineup of Pretty Cure crossovers, it is preceded by Sew Cute Pretty Cure and followed by Cave Dancers Pretty Cure.
Tropes:
- Adaptational Gender Identity: In Generation 1 of Monster High, Frankie used she/her pronouns, and in Generation 3, they use they/them pronouns. This fanfic establishes her as using both, and flipping between them at any given point.
- Hold Your Hippogriffs:
- Rather than "fairies", the mascots are called "fearies".
- "Honest-to-goodness" becomes "Honest-to-gooeyness".
- Oh, Crap!:
- In Chapter 1, the reactions to the storm.
- In Chapter 2, the dead rats running into the gym and attempting to eat everyone due to being unable to tell between living and dead skin.
- In Chapter 4, Draculaura and Clawdeen seeing the orb of normaline as that stuff will kill a monster if they get too close.
- Pink Heroine: Cure Smooch is a Magical Girl decked out in all pink. However, unlike previous Kedabory Verse PreCure crossovers, she is not the leader; that role instead goes to green Cure Freaky.
- Power Dyes Your Hair: Clawdeen's brunette hair turns purple as Cure Fierce.
- The Power of Love: Cure Smooch's main power; she can use love to convince others to follow her lead.
- Protagonist Title: Cure Freaky is the leader/protagonist of Freaky Fabulous Pretty Cure.
- Purple Is Powerful: The Magical Girl Warrior Cure Fierce wears a purple gown and has purple hair.
- Shock and Awe: Cure Freaky's main power; she can absorb energy from lightning and use it at their disposal.
- Sickly Green Glow: Frankie's clothes glow a sickly green whenever they transform into Cure Freaky.
- Transformation Trinket: Each Cure gets a makeup compact that grants them their powers.
- Verbal Tic: Watzit ends his sentences with "-watz", and Count Fabulous ends hers with "-faboo".
