And you would do anything for her, be anything for her... You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that's a protector, a lover, a friend, or a brother.

A Deconstruction Fic of The Twilight Saga (more specifically, imprinting) from the wonderful people that brought you The Wedding Crashers. It can be found here.

Embry imprints on a girl named Melanie Sampson. And unlike the typical fanon reaction of new imprintees (i.e. utter revulsion), Melanie actually likes having a werewolf boyfriend who will do anything for her. She likes it a lot.

All things considered, she likes it a little too much.

For another Twilight Deconstruction Fic, see Tough Love.

For You I Will provides examples of:

  • Ascended Fridge Horror: How far would an imprinter go to make his imprintee happy? What if the imprintee was a sociopath who derived joy from harming the imprinter and making the imprinter harm others?
  • Bad People Abuse Animals: Melanie gets a kick out of torturing small animals, and watching Embry kill deer.
  • Bestiality Is Depraved: Decidedly not Played for Laughs. At one point, Melanie tells Embry to rape a woman they're killing, while in wolf form. He does it. Fortunately, the fic doesn't get into the details. Unfortunately, that doesn't make you any more able to un-read it.
  • Dark Fic/Darker and Edgier: Imprinted couples in canon are all happy soul mates. Embry and Melanie have a relationship that pretty much embodies the Fridge Horror of imprinting on the imprinters's side.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: A very disturbing example. Melanie is normally listless and unimpressed by basically everything. The only thing that brings her out of it is torturing and killing others.
  • Depraved Bisexual: Despite being in a relationship with Embry, Melanie's preferred targets are young women with long brown hair. It's made clear that she gets a sexual thrill out of it.
  • Domestic Abuse: Melanie emotionally and physically abuses Embry, taking full advantage of the fact that he can't fight back because of the imprint.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Averted. Melanie takes advantage of the fact that Embry's helplessly in love with her and can't even think of fighting back to seriously abuse him, and it's played for horror.
  • Double Standard Rape: Female on Male: Also averted. The fact that Embry can't say no to Melanie in the bedroom, even when she's cutting him with a knife, is treated as yet another horrific consequence of imprinting.
  • Downer Ending: Melanie convinces Embry to kill all of the Quileute pack by saying that they are putting her in danger.
  • The Drifter: Melanie, prior to Embry's imprint. She mostly lived in her car, or broke into empty houses to sleep in them.
  • Dull Surprise: Melanie's only response to a random guy coming up to her, telling her they're soulmates, and turning into a wolf in front of her is, after the initial "what the hell am I looking at" shock, "Well. This is different." This is an early sign that there's something not quite right about her.
  • The Farmer and the Viper: Embry and the rest of the Quileutes are nothing but warm and loving to Melanie. Melanie abuses Embry and encourages him to take part in extremely creepy activities, and gets him to kill the rest of the Quileute tribe.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Melanie has black hair and sallow skin.
  • Emotionless Girl: Melanie, usually. When she starts emoting, you'll wish she'd stop.
  • Empty Shell: Embry lives for Melanie and only for Melanie.
  • Has a Type:
    • Before imprinting on Melanie, Embry preferred blondes with green eyes. It's just the tip of the iceberg of imprinting Fridge Horror that is the story that Melanie has black hair and blue eyes.
    • Melanie's preferred murder victims are also brunettes with long hair.
  • Healing Factor: Melanie hates that Embry has one, since it means that all the wounds she gives him heal quickly and don't scar, leaving it like she never hurt him in the first place.
  • Incapable of Disobeying: The fic paints a dark picture of imprinting when Embry imprints on Melanie Sampson. She uses that to her advantage by making him a Serial Killer against his will, sexually abusing him, and forcing him to rape other women.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: An even more twisted variation on this trope than normal. Melanie is pretty much incapable of actually loving Embry, but she does get a thrill out of seeing things be hurt, and she positively adores Embry's capability of hurting people far worse than she ever could. Embry himself did not fit the trope prior to his imprint, but afterwards, he encourages Melanie's violence (both in person and by proxy), because she's only truly happy when she's hurting people, and Embry can only be happy when Melanie is happy.
  • Mind Rape: The original series presents imprinting as finding one's soul mate. This story builds on Fridge Horror to present it as being forcibly brainwashed into a Satellite Love Interest.
  • More than Mind Control: Imprinting is presented as this to Embry. His priorities have become entirely Melanie-centric. Everything he does has the ultimate goal of making sure that Melanie is as happy in their relationship as possible. Let her cut him during sex? Oh well, he'll heal. Letting her torture small animals to death? If that's what she likes. Serial murder of other women? They're nowhere near as important to Embry as Melanie is, so he'll kill them for her. Murder all the Quileutes so they won't put a stop to Melanie's reign of terror? Well, reign of terror or not, it's Melanie's reign of terror, so he'll massacre his tribe to keep Melanie, the most important person in Embry's universe, safe and happy.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: Melanie sexually abuses Embry, cutting him with a knife during sex (which he doesn't enjoy, but endures because, well, she's his imprint). Later, she convinces him to rape at least two of the women they kill.
  • Sadist: Melanie enjoys watching things bleed, and stabs Embry during sex (and expresses disappointment that his Healing Factor means her wounds don't leave scars).
  • Satellite Love Interest: Embry's imprint forces him to be this to Melanie. His only desire is to make himself the best possible mate for his imprint, so he likes what she does, never blames her for her actions, and does everything she wants him to, with his personality becoming a shadow of hers.
  • Serial Killer: Melanie is a Lust/Thrill-based killer. Making matters worse is that she encourages Embry to be one too, and the imprint means he has to do what she wants.
  • Serial-Killer Killer: Discussed, when the rest of the pack finds out what Melanie is. They're willing to offer the compromise that if she restricts herself to killing criminals, they'll leave her and Embry alone. She doesn't go for it.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: The members of the pack note that Melanie is quite pretty when she bothers to take proper care of herself.
  • Shown Their Work: Melanie is a very accurate portrayal of a sociopathic serial killer.
  • The Sociopath: Melanie is a chilling example.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: The pack immediately welcomes Melanie, treating her like part of the family, and Embry is utterly devoted to her. Does she appreciate this at all? HahahahahaahahaNOPE.
  • Visible Victimology: Melanie prefers young women with long brown hair as her targets.
  • Yandere: A particularly odd and dark example in that Embry's imprinting has made him only concerned about Melanie's happiness. It does not matter how much she abuses him, asks him to rape and kill women, or even makes him slaughter his friends and family. If it will make her happy, he will do it.

Or a killer.
