The Hyrule Nations Conference is a decennially held event that unites the leaders of the six Hyrulian nations to Hyrule Castle. Queen Zelda welcomes everyone happily, except Ganondorf. It has been over eight years since they last met. After Ganondorf sees Zelda's young daughter, and more specifically her olive skin and reddish hair, he has some questions for the young queen.

- Hold Your Hippogriffs: "Cuckoo scratch" is the Hylian equivalent of "chicken scratch".
- Kid Fic: The story revolves around Zelda and Ganondorf having a daughter named Mina. Ganondorf, however, didn't know about Mina for the first several years of her life.
- Law of Inverse Fertility: Zelda had four miscarriages while trying to have children. When she finally did end up pregnant, it was just before her separation with her husband.
- My Secret Pregnancy: Zelda kept her pregnancy with Mina a secret from her husband Ganondorf.
- Never Trust a Title: Despite the title, Zelda and Ganondorf were never formally divorced. They simply lived separately for several years.
- Off with His Head!: Ganondorf disbembowled and beheaded a concierge for being racist towards Mina.
- Oh, My Gods!: In chapter 4, Zelda has the line "What in the name of the Golden Goddesses is happening here?"
- Patchwork Fic: It's Ocarina of Time-based with some Twilight Princess elements sprinkled about.
- Related in the Adaptation: Nabooru and Ganondorf are siblings, with Nabooru being the elder sibling.
- Self-Harm: After Mina gets called a "filthy brown sand rat", she gets so upset that she tries to rub away her skin colour using a wire brush.
- Tragic Stillbirth: Zelda's firstborn, Zelda Marie, died due to RH disease in the womb.
