Diabolik Lovers: Meging Eclipse is a Diabolik Lovers fanfic by kirramagic.

Yui Komori had been living with the Sakamaki brothers for what seems like forever... Trapped within their darkness, nearly every night is filled with anguish and the terror of her blood being drained... Is this her fate? To be eternally cured in pain... to be alone? Or will a ray hope come and shine with a new arrival to Ryotei Academy, Miya Tadao.

This fanfic provides examples of:

  • Ambiguously Human: Miya's far too strong to be a mere human. She's able to fight off the Sakamaki brothers despite the fact that they could easily take her down. Reiji has been researching what she is, believing she's from a demon bloodline. Miya reveals to Yui that she and her whole family are descendants of the Japanese demon: the Kitsune Bride.

  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Ayato is very possessive over Yui. He's very jealous of the friendship that she developed with Miya.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Miya point out the flaws of the bet she and Ayato made in the aftermath of their basketball challenge. Yui would have still manage to talk to Miya at some point since they're classmates, and Ayato lives in the same house as Yui. Ayato even began to realize how idiotic his plan was.
  • Driven to Suicide: In Dusk Ending, Yui committed suicide after the Sakamakis murder Miya, pulling a Together in Death.
  • Fantastic Racism: The Sakamaki brothers (especially Reiji) look down on Miya due to her being an Uneven Hybrid kitsune.
  • Forbidden Friendship: Yui's close friendship with Miya is strongly looked down on by the Sakamakis, especially Reiji who sees Miya as disgusting vermin due to her Uneven Hybrid lineage.
  • A Friend in Need: Miya wants to save Yui from the Sakamakis, even when the first latter doesn't her friend to get hurt because of her.
  • Friend Versus Lover: While the lover part is something hardly to call them, especially Ayato. But the story does seem shows Miya becoming closer to Yui than with the brothers.
  • Friendless Background: Yui had no friends before she met Miya. This was because of her seemingly "close" relationship to the Sakamaki brothers.
  • The Ghost: The Sakamaki brothers' father, Karlheinz, has been mentioned in an early chapter, but he has never had actual appearance in the story. Karl had only summoned his sons to tell them that he felt a strong force in the area that they live in.
  • Grew a Spine: Yui's becoming stronger and stronger in her own way, and is able to stand up against the brothers. Something that Reiji clearly disapproves of, due to the fact he believes that she was better as the gentle and obedient woman that she was when she first came to them.
  • Kick the Dog: As a Diabolik Lovers fanfic, there are several moments of the brothers' cruel treatment towards Yui.
  • Mistaken Identity: When Miya didn't show up at school in weeks, Yui went to the restroom and overhead two girls talking about Miya was found dead. However, Miya was had actually been taking care of her sick mother and the woman who was mistaken as her was really a woman named Minako Tenjou.
  • Multiple Endings: There're three different endings like in the canon series: Dusk Ending, Midnight Ending, and Dawn Ending.

  • Odd Friendship: Both Yui and Miya have an odd friendship since they have different personalities. But the two girls have a strong bond between each other that it doesn't matter to them.
  • Only Friend: Yui and Miya both severed this to each other.
  • Parents as People: Ayaka is a flawed mother but she does really love both of her children.
  • Together in Death: In Dusk Ending, Miya is killed by Reiji and Yui is unable to handle the pain of loosing her beloved friend, choosing to end her own life to be with Miya.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Miya is the loud, sporty, hot-tempered tomboy while Yui is the gentle, soft, sensitive girly-girl.
  • True Companions: Yui and Miya risk their lives for each other many times in the story.
  • Uneven Hybrid: Miya and her family are this. They have more human blood than demon blood due to their lineage always marring humans.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Miya isn't unaware that the Sakamaki brothers are vampires and Yui is their Sacrificial Bride. It isn't until the climax where Yui finally tells her the truth about her circumstances after Miya figured it out on her own.
  • You Remind Me of X: Both Shu and Subaru have this attitude to Yui and her close relationship with Miya.
    • Shu sees the friendship between the girls as similar to his old one that he once had with his human friend Edgar.
    • Subaru sees Yui's suffering when she's forced to breakup her friendship with Miya as his mother Christa's own pain by his father.
