- Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Iruka does this to Arashi when Iruka declares that he's going to get stronger. Arashi notes that it feels nice, as no one has ever done it to him before.
- Awesome, but Impractical: Arashi's wind-sensory power, which allows him to feel everything that the wind touches, but the wind happens to touch a lot of things
- Beat Them at Their Own Game: Arashi's plan with Mizuki, pretending to be his ally before betraying him.
- Big Little Brother: Naruto is younger than Ayame, but the Arashi's inner monologue implies that he is older than her.
- Blow You Away: Arashi is able to generate bursts of wind as well as sense whatever the wind touches when it's soaked in his chakra. Frustratingly, he seems unable to use wind chakra as it works in canon.
- Celibate Hero: By circumstance than by choice, as Arashi is pretty Squicked by the idea of dating girls 'his age'. However, he is noted to be attracted to both Anko and Ayame.
- Combat Pragmatist: Arashi shows shades of this in his first fight with Sasuke, because Arashi has no real fighting skills he has to rely on trickery. However, relying on tricks is then immediately told to him by Iruka to be held back as a last-resort. Later exemplified in his fight with Mizuki, where he defeats the chunin with a back stab and restraining him thoroughly before killing him.
- Deadpan Snarker: Arashi when he's annoyed, both in his internal monologue and frequently to people's faces.
- Deconstruction: Of many SI fics. Arashi is thoroughly weirded out by being in a body that isn't his own, and has trouble even bathing or using the bathroom without intense disgust. It's also clear that violence isn't good for his mental states given his civilian upbringing.
- Department of Redundancy Department: The title of Chapter 10? 'The Tenth Chapter'.
- Dying Moment of Awesome: Surprisingly enough, Mizuki gets one. Arashi seems to be somewhat impressed that he didn't die begging or pleading.
- Greater-Scope Villain: Arashi is aware of the fact that, if Kayuga wakes up and neither he nor Sasuke is strong enough, the entire world is fucked.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Arashi has a weird fixation on swords of all kinds, to the point of drooling when he's inside a weapon store.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Occasionally. Arashi actually comes pretty close to realizing that he's in a fanfic and that his entire existence is just words...and it nearly drives him insane.
- Manipulative Bastard: Sasuke notes that Arashi is this, even before Arashi learns how to manipulate others' emotions with chakra.
- Point of Divergence: Thanks to Arashi's advice, Sakura starts training seriously in an attempt to impress Sasuke, starting with learning Tsunade's Megaton Punch.
