Fanfic / Black Knights, Arknights

Go To

Black Knights, Arknights is a Fanfic by Flameal15k. It is a crossover between Code Geass and Arknights.

After touching a strange talisman, Lelouch, Nunnally, and Sayoko are transported to Terra, where they meet Tower of Babel. Seven years later, they return home, and prepare to take the fight to Britannia.

The fic contains examples of:

  • Absurdly Powerful Student Council: It's implied Milly forced everyone to wear animal themed articles of clothing after seeing Lelouch's Sarkaz horns. She has no idea the horns and tail are real parts of his body.
  • Adaptational Badass: Lelouch is a member of Rhodes Island in this story, and a confirmed operator. During his reunion with Suzaku, he actually fights that latter off for a moment while guarding the "poison gas".
  • Adaptational Context Change: In addition to the truck Kallen and Nagata stole containing C.C. (hidden in a poison gas bomb capsule), it also contains a material called Ore X, which is almost immediately revealed to be a code name for Originium. It's also confirmed that said Originium was stolen from Rhodes Island.
  • Adaptational Species Change: A few characters that were full humans in Code Geass are now part-Ancient here.
    • Lelouch and Nunnally are both Sarkaz/Sankta hybrids ala Mostima, though both are primarily human.
    • Sayoko is part-Oni.
    • Based on the context provided both in story and by Word of God, Shirley appears to be part-Aegir.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: More pronounced here than it was in canon for Lelouch - not only does he wear a dark outfit, but he also uses Darkness themed magic, is part-Sarkaz (meaning he is part demon), and apparently once held the nickname of Lucifer. However, as a member of Rhodes Island, he is much more firmly a hero than he was in canon.
  • Experienced Protagonist: It's established in the first few chapters that Lelouch has been with Rhodes Island since its Babel days, and was once known as "Lucifer" before shifting to using the code name of "Zero". Nunnally also got in on the fun as an Operator named "Nemo".
  • Fighting Your Friend: Lelouch very briefly duels Suzaku during "The Day A Demon Rises Up" due to a Sustained Misunderstanding regarding the poison gas truck.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: The second chapter spoils that Marianne was killed by Charles' younger brother, Victor zi Britannia, when the latter mentions it over a recorded conversation between himself and Koschei. The next chapter spoils that Victor and Charles are working together.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Despite Lelouch showing up at Milly's house at the end of Chapter 3 with the intent of allying Rhodes Island with the Ashford Foundation, Word of God has confirmed that Milly is unaware of Lelouch's full history with them. invoked
  • Magic Knight: Word of God stated that Lelouch as an operator is a hybrid Arts Guard/Supporter character, who uses Darkness-themed powers. For the knight part, he manages to briefly fight Suzaku to a standstill. For the magic part, when he finds out V.V. killed his mother, he creates so many shadows that a news-station several islands away from him notices the change in light. invoked
  • Meaningful Name: Well, code name, but a comment by W in Chapter 3 and other characters in following chapters implies that before Lelouch decided to refer to himself as Zero, he originally went by "Lucifer" - the angel who rebelled against god and became the Devil when he was cast out of Heaven. Lelouch was cast out of Pendragon for daring to question his father over how Marianne's death was handled, and in canon ultimately became the greatest threat Britannia ever faced as Zero.
  • Mythical Motifs: Lelouch, a Sankta/Sarkaz hybrid, has a Fallen Angel one - he was royalty who was cast out for daring to challenge his superior and ended up broken because of the events that followed. Just to hammer it home, W refers to him as "Lucifer" at one point, implying this was his original code name before shifting to Zero. Given that Lelouch is associated with the heroic Rhodes Island, though, this also overlaps with Satan Is Good.
  • Mythology Gag: Nunnally's code name in Rhodes Island is Nemo - which is both the name of her Knightmare from Nightmare of Nunnally and the entity from said series that gives Nunnally her Geass.
  • Noodle Incident: "The Day A Demon Rises Up", this story's version of the first episode of Code Geass, reveals that Lelouch apparently got into a fight with someone who lost to him at chess, which Shirley got dragged into. That is all we know about said incident at the moment. Shirley apparently learned that Lelouch is Zero due to said incident.
  • Single-Stroke Battle: A trio of Knightmares entering Shinjuku get flash-frozen by FrostNova with a single gesture.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Word of God confirmed that every major character from Arknight's Reunion Arc is still alive here, with the first chapter confirming that Patriot, Mephisto, and Faust are all still kicking. The next one adds FrostNova and Skullshatter to the list as well. invoked
  • Sustained Misunderstanding: Happens during Lelouch and Suzaku's reunion during "The Day A Demon Rises Up" - Suzaku assumes Lelouch is a terrorist who stole a poison gas capsule, while Lelouch assumes that Suzaku is assisting the military in stealing toxic Originium from Rhodes Island.
  • Telescoping Staff: Lelouch uses a collapsible baton as a Rhodes Island operator.
