Black Beast of Tengu City
is a crossover fanfiction story between BlazBlue and Date A Live.
Set after BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Ragna is given a second chance to live in another universe to defeat a man whose mannerisms match his now deceased archenemy Yuki Terumi, and that is Isaac Ray Peram Westcott.
Black Beast of Tengu City provides examples of:
- Adaptational Badass: In canon, Westcott only fights in his suit. Here, he fights Ragna and Shido using his own CR-Unit. Also, he's able to wield Tohka's Demon King, Nehemah, briefly before losing it.
- Book Ends: Ragna's first and last fight in this fic is against Dark Tohka.
- But Now I Must Go: At the end, Ragna returns to the Master Unit.
- Cruel Mercy: Ragna leaves Westcott to this fate rather than killing him like what he did with Terumi.
- Dark Is Not Evil:
- Ragna, as obvious.
- Tohka is also this when she has control of herself in her Inverse Form.
- Engineered Public Confession: Ragna tricks Westcott into confessing all of his evil to the world which resulted in everyone to stop being afraid of him.
- Et Tu, Brute?: Ellen is hit this hard when Westcott admits to Ragna that he never cared about her while he is recorded.
- Evil Counterpart: Westcott is this towards Ragna, not just towards Shido and Elliot.
- Group Hug: Ragna does this with Shido and Dark Tohka before taking his leave.
- History Repeats: This is how Ragna's final battle against Westcott goes, only he doesn't kill him, unlike Terumi.
- Post-Climax Confrontation: After Westcott is defeated, Ragna is planning to go back to the Master Unit: Amaterasu, which of course doesn't took well for Shido and Tohka, so he has two final fights with them before leaving them.
- Villainous Breakdown: Westcott is reduced to having a mental breakdown when he realized his treachery has been finally exposed and that everyone will stand against him, even Ellen and the DEM.Westcott: You can't do this to me, Ragna! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! YOU HEAR ME?!
