This fanfic provides examples for:

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Himiko Toga becomes this to both Izuku and Kyoka after seeing the two of them covered in blood and now wishes to be a part of their love.
  • Actually Pretty Funny:
    • When Izuku fumbles when trying to strike a conversation with Kyoka by asking "..Ya like Jazz?", Kyoka couldn't help but stare blankly at him for a moment before breaking down into hysterical laughter.
    • Shigaraki snorts at Mustard's name as he finds it ridiculous.
  • A-Cup Angst: Like in canon, Kyoka is insecure about having a small bust size compared to other girls. This is Played for Drama here. See Adaptational Angst Upgrade.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade:
    • Kyoka's insecurities of not having a large bust or lack of any curves is given more depth here. She's constantly haunted by negative thoughts telling her that she isn't pretty or beautiful enough, most clothes she puts on don't feel right on her, and at times thinks that after some time, Izuku will "come to his senses" and leave her for someone better.
    • Izuku's past of being the target of Fantastic Ableism is treated more seriously here and has gone into more depth. On top of that is Izuku's relationship with his mother Inko. While they are on good terms in canon; here, however, Izuku is pretty distant from his mother as he held some resentment towards her for not supporting his dream of becoming a hero. As a result, Izuku doesn't give Inko the full details of what he's up to most of the time, whether it's dealing with bullies or what he does at his leisure. It takes quite a while before both reconcile.
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Kyoka is a lot stronger here than she was in canon. Due to trying out Izuku's training regime to maintain One For All, Kyoka has a much more muscular physique. She also gains new support items such as the Equalizer and a Boom Box. She later receives half of One For All's power.
    • Izuku, to some extent, also becomes this as thanks to Kyoka's assistance, he was able to get a better handle on One For All before getting accepted into U.A.High.
  • Adaptation Expansion: Toshinori's past is only shown in brief flashbacks in canon. Here, his past as a Quirkless individual, to his training, his time in America, as well as the early parts of his career as a Pro Hero are revealed and explained in a more detailed manner in the three-parter called "The Almighty Man" which is shown by Nana to Izuku in the vestige realm.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Shigaraki's shown to be much more competent leader early on than he was in canon. He patiently questions the motives of all the recruits of the League before accepting them in.
  • Adaptational Karma: After being caught peeping on the girls, Mineta gets a warning from Aizawa that he's on thin ice.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Hatsume is more nicer here than she was in canon with her being more considerate and seeing herself as Izuku's friend.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul:
    • Aside from the main pairing, a major consequence of Izuku and Kyoka’s relationship is that it initially prompts them to be much more insular with each other, keeping them from forming relationships apart from each other for a good portion of the story.
    • Later though, Ochako, Iida, Shoto, Mei, and Momo become good friends, including attending Izuku's birthday party.
    • One of the major differences is Izuku’s relationship with Mineta. In canon, the pair are friends. Here though, Izuku is largely hostile to Mineta, due to his perverted behavior, but mainly because Mineta frequently demeans Kyoka for her appearance, which pushes Izuku’s Berserk Button like nothing else.
    • All Might and Lady Nagant have never interacted with one another in canon. Here, they've known each other since the early days of their hero career when Toshinori just returned to Japan after his training in America and Kaina just got hired by the HPSC to be their hitwoman. They even nearly got romantically involved until circumstances prevented them from being together and Kaina got arrested for murdering the HPSC's chairman.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Kyoka tries to avoid having dinner with her parents when she introduces Izuku to avoid this trope. While Mika and Kyotoku's questioning of Izuku's motives with their daughter was somewhat serious, they later reveal they deliberately behaved this way just to mess with Kyoka.
  • Ascended Extra:
    • Due to being a main character here, Kyoka takes part in some of the major events of the story's canon, such as the battle against Stain.
    • Kyoka's parents Mika and Kyotoku also get more focus with plenty of scenes revolving around them.
  • Attack Its Weak Point: After failing continuously to get a hit on All Might, Kyoka decides to go for his injury and managed to score a direct hit.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: While Kyoka does get annoyed by her father's Boyfriend-Blocking Dad routine and throws some snide remarks at him about his antics, it's clear that she love him very much as her father. This is made more clear that when she learns that Kyotoku and her mom actually got Deep Dope, her favourite band, to play at her birthday, Kyoka hugs them both saying that she loves them more than anything.
  • Battle Couple: Izuku and Kyoka become this during the first half of the Sports Festival and later fought together alongside Shoto in taking down Stain. They later make it official after asking Aizawa's permission and signed some papers. Their duo name is AMP.
    • This is taken a step further after an attempt to give One For All to Kyoka causes the Quirk's power to be split in half between them.
  • Berserk Button: Izuku is a nice and polite boy, but insulting Kyoka or peeping on her will make him angry enough to hurt you.
  • Beyond the Impossible: Played for Laughs. Mei caused the entrance door of Kyoka's house to explode. How?By touching the doorknob.
  • Boy Friend Blocking Dad: Kyotoku is this to Izuku. Though, it's Played for Laughs most of the time and he eventually comes to accept the boy.
  • Big Damn Kiss: Izuku and Kyoka share their first one together on Dagobah beach in chapter 9.
  • Birds of a Feather: Both Izuku and Kyoka pretty much have the same aspirations of why they want to be heroes. Izuku wants to be someone who can save people with a smile on his face while Kyoka wants to make people smile to give them hope.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Just when Chapter 38 of All Might's story is about to end, Nana yelled "cliffhanger" much to Izuku and by extent, the audience's disappointment.
    • The next chapter has Izuku do the same much to Nana's ire.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Gender inverted. Kyoka is usually more aloof compared to the cheerful Izuku.
  • Bullying the Dragon: In chapter 35, while strolling through Deku park, Izuku and Kyoka run into Naides Yubi and Rokuro Kubi, Izuku's past bullies. While Naides was wary of Izuku due to the latter now having a Quirk, Rokuro simply brushes it aside simply saying that he's still a pushover and pushed his luck when he made fun of Kyoka; this resulted in Izuku punching him so hard that he broke his nose.
  • Cast from Lifespan: Discussed and Subverted. Once Kyoka receives a part of One For All, Nana explains to her that One For All had recently undergone a Quirk awakening and that the Quirk's power is now divided between both Kyoka and Izuku. Nana also explains that the One For All has become so powerful that should a person with a Quirk uses it, their lifespan will be cut short, something which disturbs Kyoka. However, Nana assures her that wouldn't be the case as since the power is now shared between them, it wouldn't be an issue as One For All now uses Izuku's Quirkless body to take the backlash while Kyoka's body will receive some physical backlash in return.
  • Character Exaggeration: While Kyoka was already a Deadpan Snarker in canon, it's only when she sees people do something really stupid in front of her. Here, due to being the main heroine of the fic, Kyoka's shown to be far more snarkier than her canon counterpart, always giving off various quips whenever she's with Izuku or All Might.
  • The Charmer: An oblivious example. Every time Izuku and Kyoka are together, the boy very often says something that is equal to a flirt or a cheesy line which while Kyoka finds corny, also finds them attractive and nice to hear. She's amused when Izuku reveals that he didn't know they were flirts, saying that he was just speaking his mind the whole time.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Izuku is respectful and nice around Kyoka, but when he imagined the female rocker in a bikini he suffered a Nose Bleed. Kyoka, at one point, even caught him staring at her ass. Kyoka didn't seem to mind though, as she admitted to doing the same thing.
  • Cooldown Hug: When All Might finds out about the reason for Kaina/Lady Nagant getting arrested, he could only sag down in depression to which both Izuku and Kyoka could only hug him to cheer him up.
  • The Corrupter: Played for Laughs. Kyoka is so sassy that her habit of giving out dry remarks has rubbed off on Izuku, All Might, and even The Stoic Todoroki.
Kyoka: My sass is spreading! I'm a terrible influence! I'm so proud!
  • Covert Pervert: Kyoka was really hoping to see Izuku shirtless while they were training at Takoba Beach and as even confessed to Izuku that she likes his muscles.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: During the Sports Festival, Kyoka initially manages to put up a fight against Shoto, before eventually being overwhelmed by his ice.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: It's subtle, but Kyoka warned Mina that she'll hurt her if she asks Izuku out, even covering the girl's mouth when she was about to kiss Izuku on the cheek.
  • David Versus Goliath: During her internships, Kyoka has a mock battle against All Might. A fight that was very one-sided even for a training simulation.
  • Deadpan Snarker:
    • Kyoka is this and surprisingly enough, even Izuku becomes this due to her influence.
    • David Shields was this with All Might.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Izuku and Kyoka did everything they could to make sure that Kyoka's parents didn't know of their plans so that they could spend their time together alone at Kyoka's home while her parents were away on their trip. It didn't occur to them that Inko called them while they were away, resulting in her finding out that Izuku wasn't with them.
  • Disappeared Dad: Izuku reveals to Kyoka that his father rarely visits his family and only communicates through video calls. As time went on, he stopped communicating with his father altogether.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: Izuku apparently can't help but ogle at Kyoka whenever she stretches, much to the punk rocker's bewilderment as no other boy has ever looked at her like that before.
    • Kyoka also falls into this when Izuku takes off his shirt, she tells him that he's not allowed to stay on her bed if he kept his shirt on.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Izuku comes as this to Kyoka which is one of the reasons she loves him. Kyoka even admitted to herself that Izuku is the only person who made her use the word "adorkable".
  • Everyone Can See It: Downplayed. Despite their attempts to hide it, pretty much everyone can tell that Izuku and Kyoka are in love with each other, they just don't know that they're already dating each other.
  • Evil Gloating: This proved to be a Fatal Flaw for All For One, as the villain kept talking about his supposed greatness which gave plenty of openings for All Might to land hits on.
  • Fainting: Kyotoku faints twice when he learns that his daughter was chosen to intern under All Might.
  • Fantastic Arousal: During one of their intense make out sessions Izuku took one of Kyoka's jacks and proceeded to suck on them with the action causing Kyoka to moan in pleasure.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Before their final battle starts, All For One offered to give some tea to All Might to which the hero begrudgingly accepted, mentally noting that Gran Torino would skin him alive for this.
  • Foreshadowing: Word of God confirms at the end of Chapter 45 that Kyoka was eventually going to get One For All and that all the events of the story up until now were leading to this event. From Kyoka following Izuku's training regime to Izuku stating that he would be giving One For All to Kyoka should the worst happen.
  • The Gadfly: Kyoka becomes this to Bakugo after she finds out how much of a bully the blonde is to Izuku, even mockingly calling him "Kacchan".
  • Genetic Memory: One For All enables Izuku to not only talk to his predecessors but also see their past memories as well. Although, he can only see and hear what they saw and heard.
  • Give Geeks a Chance: Unlike all the people Izuku has met throughout his life, Kyoka was willing to be his friend, with them eventually getting a Relationship Upgrade.
  • Groin Attack: After hearing how big of an asshole Bakugo was to Izuku, Kyoka promises her boyfriend that she'll kick him in the balls with her boots.
  • Guilty Pleasures: Kyoka is normally into punk rock songs but she also likes the pop song "A Thousand Miles" much to her embarrassment. When Izuku finds the song in the playlist on her phone when they first met, Kyoka said she'll kill him if he tells anyone about it.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Izuku and Kyoka share this dynamic with each other during their fight against Stain and All Might, and after registering as the hero duo: AMP. Izuku smashes his opponents with the power of One For All while Kyoka unleashes a barrage of soundwaves with her Amplifier Jacks.
  • Head Desk: When Kyoka rhetorically asks Izuku if there's any more bad news that the past memories of One For All has to offer, Izuku could only sheepishly answer to which Kyoka slams her head on the keys of her piano.
  • Heroic BSoD: Izuku breaks down in shock and shame when he punches Rokuro in anger when the latter made fun of Kyoka. Fortunately, Kyoka reminds him it's okay to be angry and that he's not alone.
  • Hidden Depths: Izuku is apparently a fan of the Scott Pilgrim series, having read the comics and even seen the movie and had a crush on Ramona Flowers. Izuku admitted that Kyoka having a hairstyle similar to Ramona is one perk but assures the punk rocker he finds her more beautiful than the hammer girl.
    • Ironically, Kyoka starts to slowly become like Ramona Flowers when she decided to add a hammer into her repertoire.
  • I Can't Believe a Guy Like You Would Notice Me: Kyoka constantly wonders how someone as nice as Izuku would compliment and praise her for her looks and personality; something she has a hard time believing herself.
  • I Have This Friend: In order to encourage Koda during their final exams, Bakugo mentions he had this friend who was just as timid and shy as him (obviously referring to Izuku). Despite his awkward nature, that friend kept getting back up despite other people constantly pushing him down; this gave Koda the courage he needed to go beyond to beat Present Mic.
  • The Incorruptible: Discussed. Kyoka calls Izuku a "force of nature" in awe when she learns how Izuku still remained kind even after dealing with bullies for 10 years of his life. Deconstructed when it's later revealed that Izuku does hold some resentment toward his mother for not believing him if he could be a hero or not. This resentment is something Izuku hates about himself.
  • Irony: That cabin in the woods All For One was hiding in? It apparently was used by a past user of One For All that even AFO hadn't heard or seen before.
  • Insecure Love Interest: Kyoka already has several insecurities over her body which have now magnified now that she's in a relationship with Izuku. She's constantly plagued by negative thoughts that she isn't beautiful, couldn't understand how Izuku would love and desire her, and dreads that he'll "come to his senses" and dump her for someone better.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite winning the Sports Festival, Bakugo still rejects the 1st place position.
  • Internal Reveal: Izuku and Kyoka reveal to Momo and Ochaco that they are dating on Izuku's birthday.
  • Irony: After their Final Exam practical has ended, Momo wonders out loud when will Izuku and Kyoka admit their feelings for one another, not knowing they already did that and are in a steady relationship with one another.
  • It's Not You, It's My Enemies:
    • Knowing the threat that All For One poses, Izuku, albeit sadly and reluctantly, thinks it's best to break his relationship with Kyoka. Thankfully, both All Might and Kyoka snap him out of this.
    • The three-parter: Allmighty Man; revealed that All Might quietly regrets that he never had the opportunity to have a serious relationship before, out of fear of AFO targeting them. Particularly with Kaina, a.k.a. Lady Nagant. He resolved though to find love after AFO was dead, but by that point, All Might was crippled, and it was too late in several other respects.
    • Toshinori does this again when he told Gran Torino that he won't be joining him during his final battle against All For One as he has already lost too much to feel the loss of another loved one.
  • Jerkass Realization: After a conversation with Nana, Izuku realizes that he's become too accustomed to lying and keeping his mother in the dark. After awakening, he apologizes and reconciles with her.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Seeing how Momo was fighting the villains in the USJ, Izuku couldn't help but comment that she must've been a ninja in another life.
  • Leg Focus: One of the things that Izuku finds attractive about Kyoka is her porcelain legs. Mika notices this and for their date tells Kyoka to wear fishnets to make them more sexy.
  • Love Confession: Although Izuku and Kyoka have been dating each other for a while, they never specifically confessed to each other that they love each other. Chapter 29 has both of them internally confess that they're in love with each other. It's only in Chapter 34, fittingly titled "I Love You", that they confess to each other at Dagobah Beach.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: Both Izuku and Kyoka are this to each other with Izuku helping Kyoka's issues regarding her body whereas Kyoka helps Izuku with all his pent-up emotions and trauma. The two work well together and Aizawa notes that their love and support for each other has made them improve further rather than hinder them.
  • Male Gaze: Izuku almost constantly stares at Kyoka's butt when he has the chance with Kyoka even doing the same with Izuku.
  • Modeling is Glamorous: Invoked. During their first outing together, Kyoka points out how modelling is just a way for people to flaunt their looks on to people just to show how prettier they are compared to others. Izuku simply mentions that Kyoka can easily be a model herself for showing off punk outfits and she doesn't even need to wear make-up to do it either. Kyoka can only look at herself with the camera in her phone and ask what is it that Izuku sees in her.
  • Named In The Adaptation: It's unknown what Nana's hero name is in canon. Here, she's called Uplift.
  • Nerds Are Sexy: Kyoka admits to Izuku that he's not plain, and that she finds him to be rather handsome.
  • Nerves of Steel: Kyoka has no problem bad-mouthing and insulting Bakugo right in his own face.
  • The Nicknamer: Kyoka gives nicknames to all the people around her. Not even her boyfriend, Izuku, is safe from this as she names him after many vegetables (parsley, asparagus, broccoli head to name a few).
  • Not Distracted by the Sexy: During the Sports Festival, while all the men in the audience and boys on the field were seen gawking at Midnight, Izuku held no lust for her, much to Kyoka's relief.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Gran Torino lets Kyoka know how much the girl reminds him of himself before officially welcoming her in the Circle of Trust.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: A rare case where it resulted in something positive. Izuku's slip-up of asking Kyoka if she liked jazz instead of punk rock caught her attention with the rest becoming history.
  • Opposites Attract: Despite Izuku coming off as Endearingly Dorky, Nice Guy Izuku ends of falling in love with Tomboy, Deadpan Snarker Kyoka; with the feeling being mutual. Ironically, it's their opposite traits that end up making them both attracted to each other and come closer together. Izuku's kindness eventually causes Kyoka to open up more and learn to be more positive while Kyoka's assertiveness and musical habits cause Izuku to regain his self-worth and overcome his past. Their positive habits are what cause the two of them to be proud of the individuals that they are.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Aizawa may be strict when it comes to teaching his students but he genuinely wishes for them all to be great heroes. When Izuku and Kyoka wish to be hero duo, he admits that their love for each other has helped in drastically improving each other's strengths as well as overcoming their weaknesses and even gives them some advice on how to work better.
    • Bakugo, of all people, gives one to Koda when the two were partners for the Final Exam. When Koda was getting cold feet, Bakugo told him how he used to know a similar meek person in the past who was bullied but still kept fighting on. It worked and the two were able to pass.
  • Piggyback Cute: Izuku always gives Kyoka piggyback rides whenever Kyoka is too tired to walk on her own. It has become a regular routine, they do this even in the early rounds of the Sports Festival and when they search for Iida.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • In canon, Izuku only managed to come up with Full Cowling during his internship with Gran Torino. Here, he came up with the idea after having an "Eureka!" Moment during one of Kyoka's music lessons.
    • Kyoka did her internship with Death Arms in canon. Here, she interns with All Might.
    • Due to mastering Full Cowling early, Izuku managed to move up all the way into the Sports Festival finals. Albeit, he still lost to Bakugo.
    • Momo interns with Edgeshot instead of Uwabami.
    • Due to Kyoka's insistence, Mina was allowed to have her Hero name be "Alien Queen".
    • During the Final Exam Arc, due to the pair of them making their status as a duo official, Aizawa is no longer able to pair Izuku up with Bakugo, like he wanted, but instead has to pair Izuku and Kyoka together against All Might.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Despite defeating Izuku in the finals of the Sports Festival, Bakugo feels no accomplishment from his victory. During his match, he realized how much stronger his former friend is compared to him, due to the fact that he was struggling while Izuku was using less than 10 percent of his power. That and the fact that Izuku no longer fears him anymore means Bakugo can't lord over him like he used to.
  • Secret-Keeper:
    • By chapter 21, Izuku confesses to Kyoka about the secret of One For All.
    • Tenya, Shoto, Denki, and Aizawa are the only people who know about Izuku and Kyoka's relationship. Although later they reveal it to more of their closest friends.
  • Security Blanket: Whenever Izuku isn't around, Kyoka wears a green jacket owned by Izuku to keep herself comfortable whenever negative thoughts of her body enter her mind.
  • Secret Relationship: Both Izuku and Kyoka decided to keep their budding romance a secret from their classmates so that they don't get crowded by them (Mina, Denki, and Mineta, in particular). Although, many people have been catching on that the two see each other as more than friends, which they try to deny.
  • Shapeshifter Guilt Trip: During their first battle, All For One pulls this on All Might by changing into Nana, berating him for not saving her. This bit All For One in the ass hard as it only made All Might even angrier.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • It's revealed that Nana was one for All Might and Lady Nagant.
      • Izuku and Kyoka also become this for them as well.
  • Shock and Awe: Izuku apparently has developed this ability during the attack at the USJ.
  • Shout-Out:
    • After being ambushed by villains at the USJ right after thinking that everything will be all right. Kyoka could only mentally grimace.
    • Kyoka wished Izuku luck during the Rescue Training race while also calling her "tiger" like how Mary Jane fondly calls Spider-Man.
    • In the past, All Might quoted the "Chicks dig the car" line from Batman & Robin regarding David's Allmobile.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Unlike in canon, Ragdoll wasn't captured by the League of Villains so her Quirk wasn't taken by All For One.
  • Speak in Unison: After entering a steady relationship, both Izuku and Kyoka wondered whether or not they should reveal it to their classmates. After remembering the perverted Mineta and Kaminari as well as the gossiping girls, they spoke:
    Izuku and Kyoka: Nope.
  • Suppressed Rage: Izuku is still a kind boy despite all the hardships he has faced growing up. But now that he's opening up more, all of his pent-up anger, rage, and frustrations of being neglected, rejected, and denied due to his Quirklessness are slowly coming to the surface; with him having moments where he loses his cool and lashes out in anger. Kyoka, All Might, and even Shigaraki have noticed this.
  • The Talk: Mika gives Kyoka a variant of this when Izuku visits their home to have dinner together with Mika warning her daughter of how a surprise pregnancy can ruin a career.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • While on their way to the USJ, Kyoka notes how everything will be okay. Guess what happens next?
    • Kyoka tells Izuku that confessing to her parents about them being a Hero duo would be easier so long as no bad news ruins the mood... only for Kyoka's parents to receive a call from U.A. that some pervert was caught peeping on the girls' changing room.
  • Think Unsexy Thoughts: When Momo's costume gets torn during the USJ, Kyoka covers Izuku's eyes while warning him to not imagine her topless. Izuku tries not to think anything dirty...except he was trying not to imagine Kyoka topless.
Izuku: (Thinking) Stop imagining Kyoka topless. Stop imagining Kyoka topless. Stop imagining Kyoka topless. Stop imagining Kyoka topless...being in a relationship has changed me.
  • This Explains So Much: After Kyoka finds out that All Might is Izuku's mentor, she was able to quickly and accurately deduce why All Might is so interested in Izuku and figures out about the latter's entire complex situation.
Kyoka: Holy crap, you have All Might's quirk.
    Izuku: I-...What?
Kyoka: You have All Might's quirk, don't you?
    Izuku: (dumbfounded)How...How did you-?
Kyoka: You were born quirkless and somehow got a quirk at fifteen, All Might has been training you since before we entered UA, because you said Toshinori has been your mentor before you even cleaned the beach, everyone keeps comparing you to All Might, you weren't surprised when we learned All Might was going to be our teacher, and Mr. Yagi, who I now know is All Might, knows a whole lot about your quirk down to the percentages. All Might has always kept his quirk a secret. And his real name is a secret so no one can look up his records. A passable quirk would be important to keep secret because villains would try to steal such as a strong power, even willing to kill the people who own it just to get to it. And, All Might looked really skinny and he must be middle-aged from how long he's been in the business. He's probably looking for a successor.
Izuku: (jaw dropped)...I...You just...That's exactly right. I-...I-I mean, that's one hundred percent correct.
  • Thousand-Yard Stare: Played for Laughs. Izuku was gobsmacked when he learns how great Kyoka is as a singer when she sang during their first date at a music club. Izuku was still staring at the same spot Kyoka was standing on when she came back to sit with him at their table again.
  • Vibro Weapon: How the Equaliser functions. By inserting one of her jacks into the tuning sword, Kyoka can cause it to vibrate at high speeds for some devastating hits.
  • Wham Episode:
    • Chapter 44 has a big one where Izuku, thinking he won't be coming back alive from his battle with Muscular after hitting the villain with everything he has, gives Kyoka One For All through a blood-stained kiss. Though, instead of transferring completely to Kyoka, a fraction of the power was apparently what she got, while Izuku still has the rest of it.
    • The next chapter has Nana reveal that One For All has evolved to the point where it can no longer be contained in one person due to shortening their lifespan. At first, Kyoka was worried that she may die, however, Nana assures her that she's fine as the Quirk's power has been split in half and now simultaneously exists in both her and Izuku. With Izuku's Quirkless body acting as a way to negate the lifespan-shortening drawback, Kyoka wouldn't have to worry about living a short life.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: During her internships, Kyoka lays it on All Might for not being a better mentor to Izuku; it was only then that the hero decides to play a more direct role in his training with Izuku regarding One For All.
  • Why Can't I Hate You?: While Kyotoku tries to play the role of the aggressive and overprotective father, he eventually learns that trying to hate Izuku is like trying to hate a puppy. He comes to accept the boy as Kyoka's boyfriend but still plays the overprotective father for fun as he insists it's his job as a father.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Izuku constantly assures Kyoka that she's more beautiful than she thinks especially after the latter revealed how much she dislikes her body due to her flat chest. Likewise, Kyoka reminds Izuku of how great he is after all he accomplishes.
  • You Are Not Alone: Kyoka assures Izuku that no matter what she'll always stay by his side and love him. All For One be damned.

"...Ya like jazz?"
