A Winter's Tale

In Season 9, a human Castiel was kicked out of the Bunker by Dean Winchester. Several months later, Dean got a phone call from a hospital in Spokane, Washington revealing that Cas was found sick and maybe dying.
This show provides examples of:
- Apology Gift: Just in time for Christmas, Sam and Dean bought Castiel to make up for their behavior and because he was their family: new clothes, fresh bedding, new tires and stuff for Cas' car, and lots of fluffy pillows.
- Appetite Equals Health: Despite the fact that Castiel was starving, he was having a hard time eating soup indicating that he was getting sick.
- Crappy Holidays: Castiel spent Thanksgiving alone at Gas-N-Sip because all of the businesses are closed.
- Dreams of Flying: Castiel had many dreams flying and up feeling sad when he remembered he can't fly anymore.
- Frozen Dinner of Loneliness: For Thanksgiving, Cas got himself a burrito to splurge but he felt so alone that he didn't want to eat it.
- Plagued by Nightmares: Castiel had nightmares involving Dean abandoning him to drown or ignoring him to be eaten by skeleton wolves.
- Poverty Food: Castiel often ate food that is being disregarded from Gas-N-Sip because it is spoiled like burnt nachos and dried hotdogs. He also ate from dumpsters.
- Shared Dream: Dean found himself in one of Castiel's nightmares. Justified in the fact that Castiel is a powerless angel and has a bond with Dean.
- Unbroken Vigil: Dean sat by Castiel's bed while he was unconscious from pneumonia after Dean drove twelve hours to get to the hospital. He was eventually forced to rest by Sam and an ICU nurse.
