A Day Without Leonardo

In it, the remaining turtles are taught leading skills after Leonardo falls ill; skills that come in handy when they have a mission at midnight.

- Affectionate Nickname: While making breakfast, Mikey half-lovingly, half-mockingly calls Raph "Raphie".
- Appetite Equals Health: Leo's absence at breakfast is the first sign that something's wrong.
- Deadpan Snarker: Raph does a snarky mockery of a villain's voice in response to something dumb Mikey says.
- Little Sister Instinct: When hearing that Leo's sick, Sera is the first to jump up and ask what happened.
- Original Character: A fifth turtle named Seraphine appears in the story as a Fifth Ranger; she's stated to be a human-born mutant who joined the turtles after her mutation. Her sister Emerald also makes an appearance, as the turtles have to save her from the Kraang.
- Out Sick: Leonardo is unable to perform his role as leader of the turtles because he is ill.
- Sneeze Interruption: During Sera's training exercise, she has to sneak up on Splinter; a task she initially considers impossible. However, a well-timed sneeze from Leo distracts their sensei, allowing Sera to succeed.
- Shout-Out: Raph say that whoever's in the window above them can't know that the Kraang were there. Cue Emerald with a little gasp. "I know."
