Drinking Game for Adventure Time

Game was meant to be played with low-alcohol content drink such as beer. Adjust if you enjoy a stronger spirit. If you do adjust the rules, down a shot prior to the game for good measure. Seeing as this is a children's show, kids can play Strongest Bladder and use water instead.

HARDCORE MODE: A minute before the show starts, consume any amount of LSD. Write down your experiences For Science!.


General

  • If you see the snail, down your drink.
  • Take a drink every time a made-up word is used.
    • Two if it wasn't used by Finn. Be especially careful when watching "Grayble" episodes.
    • Another if it's "Glob" or some variant thereof.
    • Another if it's a variant of "bananas".
  • Take a drink every time a reference to the "Great Mushroom War" is made and/or post-apocalyptic detritus from our civilization is seen.
  • Take a drink every time a song starts.
    • Two if it features auto-tune, synthesizers, or a mandolin.
  • Take a drink every time a character visits a Kingdom.
  • Take a drink every time a character is referred to by a nickname.
    • If it's that character's initials, take one drink per letter.
  • Take a drink every time someone speaks a language other than English.
    • Two if it's Korean.
      • Another if it's not Lady Rainicorn.
    • Two if they usually use a translator to speak English.
      • Another if they normally don't use a translator, but have done so throughout the entire episode.
  • Take a drink every time someone blushes.
    • Two if their eyes are also glazed over.
  • If someone moves their limbs in an improbably bendy manner, take a drink.
  • If hyper-modern technology is used, take a drink.
  • If someone specifically mentions a Trope, down your drink.
    • Two if they use the trope's exact title.
  • Take a drink for every Radar moment.
    • Two if it involves anything Lady Rainicorn said or implied.
  • For every celebrity cameo, take a drink.
  • When the Enchiridion is shown, take a drink.
    • If Finn uses it to try and hit something, take two drinks.
      • If someone uses it for its intended purpose, take three drinks.
  • Take a drink every time someone tries to eat a candy person and/or part of a Candy Kingdom building
  • If someone farts, take a drink.
  • Whenever there's a Philosophical speech or an Ice Cream Koan, take a drink.
  • Once the episode has finished, you may finish your drink at your leisure. However, if the episode ends on a cold-cut after a bizarre and/or morbid occurrence, you must down your drink.

Finn

  • Take a drink every time he wields a sword.
    • Two if you've never seen the sword before.
  • Take a drink every time he wears his pajama onesie.
    • Two if he's wearing something other than this or his standard blue shirt and shorts.
  • Take a drink every time he exhibits stupidity.
    • Two if he exhibits intelligence.
  • If he gives a battle cry, take a drink.
  • Take a drink every time he screams.
  • If he has an artificial right arm, take a drink.
    • If he actually loses his arm, down your drink.
  • If he is having love issues, take a drink.
    • If he breaks down and starts crying over it, down your drink.
    • If he gets a hug, down your drink.
    • If he gets a kiss, down two drinks.
    • If he manages to land a steady girlfriend, drink until your speech begins to slur.
  • If he yells, "Adventure Time!", take a drink.
  • If he takes off his hat, take a drink.
  • If his voice cracks, take a drink.
    • Two if it occurs during a scream or battle cry, as opposed to mid-sentence.
    • Another if this isn't the first time it's happened during that episode.
    • Finish your drink if the episode isn't in Season 1.
  • If his uncertain, boom boom-related origins are mentioned, take two drinks.
    • If parts of his childhood are shown on-screen, take three drinks.

Jake

  • Every time he stretches, take a sip.
    • If the stretch was forced, down your glass.
  • If he does something immoral, take a drink.
  • If he's eating something, take a drink.
  • If he's seen with Lady Rainicorn, take a drink.
    • If the encounter has romantic overtones, take two drinks.
    • If the encounter includes Lady Rainicorn saying something that causes him to blush and act flustered, take three drinks.
  • If Jake starts playing an instrument, take a drink.
    • If it's not his viola, take two drinks.
      • If Shelby is mentioned or seen, down your drink.
  • Every time his voice changes, take a drink.
    • If it goes lower, take two drinks.
    • If it goes higher, take three drinks.
  • Every time he acts like a normal, un-mutated, non-magical dog, take a drink. Exceptions: the episodes "Finn the Human" and "Jake the Dog".
  • Every time his children are mentioned or shown after the episode(s) where they were the focus, take a drink.

Princess Bubblegum

  • If she does or says something scientific, take a drink.
    • If the science causes a problem, take two drinks.
      • If the science solves a problem, down your drink.
  • If she addresses the Candy Kingdom, take a drink.
  • If she's wearing an outfit other than her pink dress, take a drink.
    • If it's a lab coat, take two drinks.
  • If she experiences Sanity Slippage, take a drink.
    • If it sounds like a classic bout of Mad Scientist amorality à la Prof. Farnsworth or Dr Praetorius, down your drink.
  • If she yells at someone, take a drink.
    • If that person is Finn, take two drinks.
  • If she is seen sitting at her throne, take a drink.
  • If her life is being threatened, take a drink.
  • If she's giving Finn mixed signals, take a drink.
  • If she's hanging out with Marceline, take a drink.
    • If it's implied they're in a relationship, take two drinks.
  • If she is called by her first name(Bonnibel), take a drink.
    • If anyone other than Marceline calls her Bonnibel, take three drinks.

Ice King

  • If he calls for Gunter, take a drink.
  • If he captures a princess, take one drink for each princess.
    • If he captures Princess Bubblegum, take two drinks.
  • If you can see his loin cloth, take two drinks.
  • If he casts a spell, take a drink.
  • If his crown is knocked off, take a drink.
    • If someone else puts on his crown, take two drinks.
  • If he's being nice, take a drink.
    • If it's toward Finn and Jake, take two drinks.
    • If he's acting like it's a normal thing for him to be nice to people, take three drinks.
  • If he starts playing the drums, take a drink.
  • If he starts crying, take a drink.
    • If Simon Petrikov is mentioned, down two drinks.
      • If Simon Petrikov is shown, down three drinks instead.
  • If he says something funny that becomes incredibly depressing when his backstory is taken into account, take a drink on the rocks.
  • If after a sequence detailing parts of his backstory he looks at Marceline and remarks about how he has no clue who she is, down your drink.

Lumpy Space Princess

  • If she says "whatever," take a drink.
  • If she says "glob," "lumping", or any variation of the two, take a drink.
  • If her arms are akimbo (††), take a drink.
  • If Lumpy Space is shown or mentioned (not including if LSP's full name is spoken), take a drink.
  • If she mentions wanting to be more beautiful, take a drink.
    • If she changes her appearance in the same episode, take two drinks.
  • If she gives names to animals, take a drink.
    • If done more than twice, take three drinks.
  • If she mentions love, take a drink.
    • If she's the one in love, take two drinks.
  • If the episode has her living somewhere unusual (i.e. the woods), take a drink.
  • If she's being melodramatic, take a drink.
  • If she mentions Brad or Melissa, take a drink.
  • If she mentions partying, take a drink.
  • If she makes reference to her lumps, take a drink.
  • If she appears somewhere she should logically have no way to be at, take a drink.
  • If she tries to be flirty, take a drink.
    • Two if it's towards any of the main characters.
      • Three if it's Finn.

Marceline

  • If the episode features her, take a drink.
  • If her father's home is shown, down your drink.
  • If she's playing her bass, take a drink.
    • If she's playing it well, take two drinks.
    • If she's also singing, take an additional drink.
  • If she transforms into something other than a vampire, take a drink.
    • If the transformation causes her to grow larger, take two drinks.
  • If she drinks the red out of something, take a drink.
    • If it's not a fruit, take two drinks.
  • If she is nice to Finn and Jake, take two drinks.
    • If she is nice to Princess Bubblegum, down two drinks.
    • If she flirts with Finn, down a drink.
  • If the "Daddy, why did you eat my fries?" incident is mentioned, take two drinks.
  • If she uses her bass guitar as a weapon, take a drink.
  • If she's floating, take a sip.
  • Whenever she blushes, take a drink.
    • Whenever she cries, take two drinks.
  • If she gives an odd look to the Ice King in reference to his backstory, take a drink.

Lemongrab

  • Every time his voice cracks, take a drink.
  • Every time he speaks unnecessarily loudly, take a drink.
    • If he is speaking unnecessarily loudly and his voice cracks, down your drink.
  • If his eyes turn into lifeless ovals, take a drink.
    • If his eyes get bigger while his face is on-screen, take two drinks.
  • If there are stress lines drawn under his eyes, take a drink.
  • Every time he says "DUNGEON," take a drink.
    • Every time he says "UNACCEPTABLE," down two drinks.
  • If his tongue is visible, take a drink. This doesn't include the times it may be visible while he is speaking, unless his mouth hangs open.
  • If he says something with unusual enunciation, or a sentence with strange word-stressing, take a drink.
  • If he says something that technically isn't a sentence, take a drink.
    • If he says something that technically isn't a word, down your drink.
  • If his royal bottom looks round and luscious, take a drink.
  • If he pokes someone, take a drink.
  • Every time he blames Princess Bubblegum for his problems, take a drink.

Episode-Specific

Broadcast Airings Only

  • If Finn's voice is noticeably older/younger sounding in episodes played consecutively, take a drink.
  • If you're watching via Cartoon Network Australia and something has been (obviously) censored out, take a drink.
    • If, according to the fandom wiki, the episode wasn't censored at all, down your drink.
  • If there's an ad for another episode of Adventure Time in a different time slot, take a drink. The second half hour of an hour block doesn't count.
    • For each repeat of the ad, take two drinks.
  • If there's an ad for an Adventure Time game, down two drinks.
