Puddin?
The DC Extended Universe had some interesting deleted scenes.

    open/close all folders

    Man of Steel
  • A longer battle scene on Krypton that would have featured more of Kelex.
  • A scene with a infant Superman being treated by a pediatrician was filmed but cut. David Goyer explained:
There's a scene, placed between Kal-El's rocket ship crash-landing in Kansas and an adult Clark working at the fishing boat, where Jonathan and Martha take baby Clark to a pediatrician, because he's acting strange, due to his superpowers beginning to develop. The doctor decides to check baby Clark’s hearing by emitting sounds into his ear canal. Due to the super-hearing, baby Clark lets out a cry that shatters all of the hospital's windows as well as setting off alarms of all cars nearby. It was filmed, but cut because it felt out of place.
  • An extended oil rig scene where Clark is searching for the trapped.
  • A small scene of Clark petting a dog in Canada.
  • A scene of General Zod attacking other Earth cities.
  • A scene with Lois being interrogated by the FBI following Zod's announcement, and refuses to talk.
  • A scene of Clark leaving the church after speaking to Father Leone in which there's dialogue, "I won’t betray them", "You already have". cut. This dialogue was used in the promotional trailer.
  • After Clark is bullied, Jonathan Kent takes him fishing without telling Martha.
  • A scene where Jonathan takes Clark hunting and ends up killing a deer, with Jonathan emphasizing the reality of having to take a life.
  • A scene set in Canada where Clark tries to hitchhike.
  • A scene showing the Kent Farm covered in fog.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
  • Probably to hype the Director's Cut, possibly knowing that fans would be confused by certain elements in the theatrical ending, Warner Bros. surprisingly released a deleted scene online the same weekend the movie premiered titled "Communion." In the theatrical version, Lex rants in his prison cell about how "he" is coming to Earth and talks about how "the bell has been rung." In the deleted scene it shows a SWAT team entering the scout ship to recover and arrest Lex, and he is found in the genesis chamber along with a holographic image of a demonic creature note  that looks like one of the New Gods holding Mother Boxes (which is also seen in Cyborg's cameo). When Lex finally acknowledges the SWAT team he is notably shaken by what he's seen.
    • This, in turn, wouldn't fully make sense until the release of Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League, since the alien figure is nowhere to be seen in the theatrical cut. Only a similar pair of horns tipped audiences that the figure was none other than the villain Steppenwolf, who was completely redesigned for the latter film. It wasn't until the director's version that Snyder was finally allowed to use his original design for the character and finally match his appearance to that of BVS. Basically, it took a deleted version of a film for a deleted scene in another film to make sense, for yet another scene in THAT film to make sense.

    Suicide Squad
  • In the scene of the capture of Harley Quinn was cut a small part, where Batman explains that she will be sent to Belle Reve for the murder of Robin.
  • A flashback sequence similar to the rest of Task Force X's was filmed for Slipknot, but it was removed from the final cut due to time constraints.
  • The Joker was going to be present during the final battle with Enchantress, and would make a deal with her to join her if she made him King of Gotham.
  • Members of the Joker's gang who didn't appear in the assault on Arkham Asylum, including Eyeball Man, Crying Baby Man, a man wearing a musculature-patterned costume, and a man wearing a light-colored burka, would have appeared, and the scene would have been longer.
  • The story of the Joker's damaged teeth and "Damaged" tattoo would have been explained; Batman would have beaten Joker in response to the murder of Robin, breaking his teeth, and the Joker would have gotten the tattoo as a reminder to Batman of the time he lost control.
  • The scene where Batman chases the Joker and Harley was longer.
  • Katana would have been controlled by Enchantress to turn on the rest of the squad.
  • El Diablo would have actually survived the explosion.

    Wonder Woman
  • While the Wonder Men are walking in Belgium to reach No Man's Land, Chief reveals the presence of undergound mine under the road.
  • A deleted epilogue scene shows Etta Candy meeting with Sameer, Charlie and Chief, proposing another mission that involves recovering a very old artifact from western Belgium and delivering it to the Americans. Etta eventually distributes the mission documents and one of them reveals an image of a Mother Box.

    Justice League
  • A sizeable number of scenes that were filmed by Zack Snyder have been scrapped when the film was modified in post-production under Joss Whedon. Some scenes have been replaced by Whedon's reshoots also, to "brighten" them as much as possible and insert his dialogues (or, as some speculated, to try having Whedon get a director credit per DGA rules like Richard Lester had when he took over Superman II — it didn't happen here). The 2017 theatrical film lasts 120 minutes, Snyder's version, released in 2021 as Zack Snyder's Justice League, lasts a whopping 242 minutes, increased from a 214 minutes workprint (and including about five minutes of new footage filmed in 2020). The examples below were collected via trailers, leaked work-in-progress VFX sequences and Snyder's own posted images on the social media Vero long before Snyder's version of the film came out.
    • One of these shows Clark returning to the Kryptonian ship, finding two new suits there: the long awaited black suit and a Kryptonian space suit similar to the ones worn by Zod and his crew when they explored abandoned Kryptonian outposts in Man of Steel.
    • One other is one of the Missing Trailer Scenes, specifically the most speculated upon trailer bit with a glass and water effect ala Jurassic Park and where Alfred greets someone with "they said you would come, now let's hope you're not too late". It confirms it was Superman coming to him all along.
    • A scene with Barry Allen saving Iris West from a car accident was leaked, and had unfinished special effects. The part with Barry destroying a window with the tip of his finger at high speed is a Missing Trailer Scene.
      • Zack Snyder later shared a screenshot of a scene between Barry and Iris, with the comment "Cute couple".
    • Victor Stone/Cyborg's backstory, including a football match before the accident that crippled him. It briefly appears as a Missing Trailer Scene, a VFX company released a few seconds of it (including Victor's mother Elinore crying of joy when he scores a victory for the GCU team) and there are set photos.
    • Victor/Cyborg projecting himself in a Nazi Germany setting in virtual reality, exploring it using a recreation of his bygone human body wearing his Gotham City University jacket. Again, some parts are Missing Trailer Scenes.
    • Victor/Cyborg digging at a "family plot" (his family's?). Zack Snyder shared a screenshot of the scene on Vero, and cinematographer Fabian Wagner followed suit with a behind-the-scene photo of it on Instagram.
    • A Parademon landing outside the Stone family's apartment, with Cyborg hiding from it.
    • Another leaked scene with unfinished special effects shows Cyborg learning to fly on a rooftop.
    • The unearthing of Superman was reshot. The scene as originally shot included Wonder Woman and Aquaman in addition to Flash and Cyborg, and judging by the photo released by Zack Snyder on his Vero account, it looked more serious and solemn.
      • A leaked scene shows the League carrying Superman's coffin into the Flying Fox and Cyborg turning at the camera.
    • A photo shows Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Flash in a combat-ready stance in what looks like a fight taking place at S.T.A.R. Labs.
    • A behind-the-scene clip shows the League (with Superman, and a clean-shaven Henry Cavill, indicating this was not a reshoot) looking at something that produces lightnings.
    • Jason Momoa confirmed that the present-day parts of Aquaman start where Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League left off. He talked about a scene where Vulko and Mera come to Arthur in Iceland to convince him to return to Atlantis. He refuses, downs a bottle of booze and leaves in the back of a pickup truck.
    • A behind-the-scene shot from the October 2016 wrap-up video shows that there was a scene taking place at Wayne Manor. The "room for more" scene at Wayne Manor from the theatrical is a 2017 reshoot by Joss Whedon.
    • Stuntman Nick McKinless (who played Ares) confirmed that Darkseid led the invasion of Earth in ancient times, and that the Gods of Olympus battled him.
    • Zack Snyder shared photos of a scene in which Silas Stone is disintegrated by the Mother Box, with Cyborg watching helplessly. A shot of it made it to the March 2017 trailer, and is, again, missing.
    • Photos shared by Snyder and Jason Momoa showed that Steppenwolf was initially to be skewered by Aquaman's quindent, then punched by Superman, then decapitated by Diana, with his headless corpse and head being sucked in a Boom-Tube and his head rolling at Darkseid's feet on the other side. When commenting on the scene, Snyder said "I use gods to kill gods". The decapitation was replaced by Superman freezing Steppenwolf's electro-axe in the theatrical version, with Diana smashing the axe to pieces instead of cutting his head off, the Parademons zerg-rushing a frightened Steppenwolf and them all being sucked back to Apokolips via the Boom-Tube.
    • Ciarán Hinds (Steppenwolf) was disappointed that a large part of his work didn't end up in the theatrical cut.

    Aquaman
  • A flashback scene where a young Arthur Curry gets dared by his friends to swim down and explore a shipwreck. Arthur then gets stuck inside the shipwreck and starts to think he's drowning before he discovers that he is capable of breathing underwater. He then meets Vulko for the first time.
  • In a original version of the film, the Trench were meant to be played by actors in costumes and they featured shark-like heads.
  • After being captured by Orm Marius, Arthur Curry is thrown in a prison where he starts a prison riot, which ends up involving Sharks-guards.
  • This line from Arthur was cut:
That was the worst pep talk...Ever.
  • A scene where Arthur Curry grabs Mera out of the water during a moment when the waves were particularly powerful.

    SHAZAM!
  • The editor of the film, Michel Aller, revealed there are 20-24 minutes of deleted scenes of the film, (most of them turned out to be alternate scenes that weren't used). Amongst them:
    • An alternate beginning where Thaddeus Sivana is having Christmas lunch with his family (the scene also includes his mother and twin sisters, completely absence in the final cut). Mr. Sivana orders Sid to taking away Thaddeus' magic ball and he runs away in an elevator where he encounters the Wizard Shazam. After not being accepted, he returns to his home, where he receives a fist from Sid.
    • The Battle in Chilladelphia Winter Carnival is a bit longer.
    • The Shazam Family sitting on the thrones. Mary notes that since there's only six of them, one is empty and wonders who it's for. Darla replies that no matter who it is, that person will automatically be part of the family.
    • A scene where Billy attempts to escape from the Vasquez home but he's stopped by Mary Bromfield.
    • An alternate ending where the Shazam Family built a new Christmas tree and prepare themselves to fight a new crime.
    • An alternate "Lighting with my Hands" scene (this time in a anonymus street instead of the Philadelphia Museum of Art). This scene was featured in the trailers.
    • An alternative scene of the Thaddeus Sivana's revenge on his family (this time taking place during a Christmas celebration in Sivana's mansion instead of the Sivana Tower).
    • Billy Batson, in his Shazam form, has a tea party with Darla.
    • Darla finds out that Freddy had been once again the victim of bullism from Brett Breyer.
    • A scene where Freddy, in his avatar form, flies near an airplane.
    • Darla blackmailing Billy into playing tea party as Shazam. She then asks him questions like how does it feel to be hit by the lightning and what happens to his clothes during the transformation.

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)
  • There are photos of BTS moment that had Harley and Joker (a Fake Shemp, not Jared Leto) arguing from a distance through a window on the first floor of Joker's house. Harley leaves the house through the window and Joker throws her stuffed beaver out through the window as well. In the film proper, she's just kicked out of the house, with no shot on Mr. J.

    Wonder Woman 1984
  • Patty Jenkins said that the only scene she cut out had Steve and Diana hailing a cab outside of the Natural History Museum to get to Black Gold.

    Zack Snyder's Justice League
  • In May 2021, Zack Snyder revealed that, back in 2016, an executive mandate had him shoot a scene with the League in a truck making quips while transporting Superman's coffin. He said it was "the worst thing [he has] ever seen", and didn't include it in his 2021 cut.
  • Snyder filmed a scene in his own backyard to introduce John Stewart in the DCEU, with actor Wayne T. Carr (who confirmed this in interviews). Warner Bros. executives vetoed that scene, presumably because of the upcoming Green Lantern HBO Max series, which has no creative ties to Snyder.
  • Snyder released deleted footage of the dialogue between Batman and the Joker in the Knightmare in which Joker does utter the "We live in a society where honor is a distant memory" that was heard in the trailer.

    The Suicide Squad
  • A scene in which young Cleo Cazo and an army of rats are holding a candle wake for the deceased original Ratcatcher in a Porto alleyway was depicted on concept art by Simon Murton but did not appear in the final version of the film.
  • Thinker tries to convince Polka-Dot Man to join him, but Polka-Dot Man shoots the Thinker's ear instead. This would have explained why the Thinker had a bandage on his ear for the rest of the movie.
  • There was improv with Harley Quinn and Javelin talking about Harley's bowel movement after she brought it up.
