Go To

Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise is a Pokémon game idea created by Sunflorazumarill that launched in March 2021. It is the fifth entry the SFA-Verse and celebrates the 10th anniversary of the SFA-Verse's beginning. Just like the four entries before it, it takes characters from various games, anime, manga, visual novels, and more and puts them in various roles such as important Trainers, Gym Leaders, Elite Four, villains, and more, and also brings in several new Pokémon.

The game takes place in Lantiquas, a region based off of the fabled lost civilization of Atlantis. Untold thousands of years ago, a highly advanced civilization existed before a catastrophe happened that sank it into the ocean, seemingly gone forever. Several millennia later, people would come to this place and settle on what were once the highest landmasses of the region, where they would learn of Lantiquas and its once thriving civilization, choosing to name the region after it.

In Jaunary 2022, two DLC packs for Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise that together are called Pokémon Aqua-Turq Oceanic Lands were announced. These involve four new sets of areas called the Aquatic Kingdom and the Key Sanctuary, and the Ancient Islands and The Lost Sea. These introduce new Pokémon, new Lantiquan forms, and also new Mega Evolutions, Gigantamax forms, and Z-Forms. The Aquatic Kingdom DLC was launched in March 2022 while the Ancient Islands DLC was launched in July 2022.

     Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise

Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise provides examples of:

  • Advanced Ancient Acropolis: Before it sank, Lantiquas was a highly advanced civilization possessing technology unlike anything else that the world had seen, which also includes several artificial Pokémon.
  • Amusement Park: Water Island happens to be a colossal aquatic theme park located out on the ocean. Taking up the entirety of the island it's situated on, Water Island has hundreds of rides, dozens of restaurants, and a huge number of stores, aquariums, swimming pools, show areas, and zoo attractions.
  • Atlantis: The region of Lantiquas is based off of the lost civilization of Atlantis, drawing from several interpretations of the fabled city and mainly having an emphasis on water and ancient technology.
  • The Cameo: Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise has a couple appearances of characters from past SFA-Verse entries:
    • Siesta appears during the postgame at Port Aurora, bringing with her the Halkeginian starters, which you get to choose one of.
    • Riku Atori, going by Ms. Atori, appears in Ancitech City in the postgame, looking into the appearance of Delta Species in Lantiquas and why they're found there.
  • Cataclysm Backstory: Many millennia ago, King Lantin tried to weaponize Sualdrlyon using the Trident of Lantin to combat some unknown threat, which caused Staldrlyon to bring forth the Crystal Death, which threatened the world. Because of this, Mechonaken sank Lantiquas into the sea in order to protect it, while Orgaiathan preserved the region under the sea. This caused the civilization to be lost to the world.
  • City of Canals: Aquadine City is a Venice-like city located on the eastern landmass of Lantiquas that has a legend regarding its connection to the Kingdom of Aquadine. It's also where the fifth Gym is located.
  • Crystal Landscape:
    • Spectrum Cave is a cavern of crystal that changes color over time. In addition to various Crystal-type Pokémon, it's also the only place in the region where you can find Spectrus.
    • King Lantin's Chamber, found in the Hidden Sea, is a giant cavern coated in green crystal where Staldrlyon was sealed away.
  • Derelict Graveyard: Derelict Bay is a swampy place where a bunch of sunken ships and planes brought down by the hostile Pokémon living there are located.
  • Family-Friendly Firearms: After you've defeated Lavaka inside the Mortar Complex, she retaliates with an Ancient Lantiquan gun that fires electric shocks at you and Milo, stunning both of you and allowing her escape. Ruu uses a similar one on you at the Mermaid's Altar after you've defeated Team Chromatic there.
  • Floating Continent:
    • The Marine Archology is a colossal structure floating on the ocean that is the home and base of operations for the division of the Pokémon Institute based in the region. It's also where the Odysseus II was built and docked and where the expedition to Ancient Lantiquas begins.
    • Floahana City is a botanic city in the shape of a flower located on an island floating in the sea in the Icecap Glacier area. It was once on land before being moved to the sea and where the seventh Gym is located.
    • Skyward Island is a large island floating in the sky with an ancient city that is part of Ancient Lantiquas located on it. At one point late in the game, Team Prismatic raises the island from under the sea in order to obtain King Lantin's Trident from it.
  • Gravity Screw: A Lantiquan Shrine located on the Icecap Glacier has gravity that adheres to all surfaces, making navigation through it perplexing.
  • Hailfire Peaks: Lantiquas has some of these, generally combining settings with underwater:
    • The Kingdom of Brinas is primarily a combination of Lethal Lava Land and Under the Sea.
    • Aquatic Glacier is a combination of Slippy-Slidey Ice World and Under the Sea.
    • The Aqua Temple is a combination of Down the Drain, Eternal Engine, and Temple of Doom.
    • The Cursed Ruins are a combination of Big Boo's Haunt and Under the Sea.
    • One Lantiquan Shrine that's found in the Trenchera area has ice floors and lava pools that are placed right next to each other.
    • Some Field Effects introduced in Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise are combinations of others with the Water Field Effect:
      • Tall Seaweed is a fusion of Tall Grass and Water, increasing the power of Grass-type and Water-type moves by 50%.
      • Undersea Volcano is a fusion of Volcano and Water, increasing the power of Fire-type and Water-type moves by 50%.
      • Undersea Ice is a fusion of Ice and Water, increasing the power of Ice-type and Water-type moves by 50%.
      • Undersea Cavern is a fusion of Cavern and Water, increasing the power of Rock-type and Water-type moves by 50%.
      • Undersea Trench is a fusion of Shadow and Water, increasing the power of Dark-type and Water-type moves by 50%.
  • Jungle Japes: Tropic Jungle on the aptly named Jungle Island in the northern part of the region is a large tropical forest.
  • Lethal Lava Land:
    • Mt. Vulcanis is the standout example, being an active volcano. Both some ruins and the Vulcanis Town Gym are located inside of it.
    • The Kingdom of Brinas area is a variant, being a primarily molten place located on the ocean floor and containing a lava lake called Molten Lake.
  • Lost City: Undersea Lantiquas has two prominent ones:
    • The Lost Capital of Lantiquas is the prominent one, considered to have been the center of Ancient Lantiquan civilization before the region sank. The game's story mainly centers around an expedition being made to discover said capital.
    • The Sunken City is a lesser example, being an unknown city found on the ocean floor, said to be guarded by a mysterious Aquacized Pokémon.
  • Lost Technology: Ancient Lantiquas was said to have possessed highly advanced technology that was mainly lost when the region sank. This also includes various Pokémon that are introduced in these games.
  • Neon City: Rouletta City is a large city based around casinos and gambling, including having the largest and most prestigious Game Corner in the Pokémon world.
  • Prongs of Poseidon: In the legends of Lantiquas, there exists what is called the Trident of Lantin, a legendary weapon that was created by King Lantin. During the main story, Khrysim seeks the Trident of Lantin, eventually obtaining it and using it to find and control Mechonaken or Orgaiathan.
  • Ruins for Ruins' Sake: Lantiquas is shown to have a lot of ruins and stonework found throughout, likely left over from Ancient Lantiquas.
  • Shifting Sand Land:
    • Vacuo Desert is a large desert found in the eastern part of the region. It was once part of the sea and where the Kingdom of Deserti resided before drying up, which also caused the demise of the Deserti, leaving only their ruins below the sand.
    • The sand dunes making up part of Route 705 are this to a lesser extent.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The names of the three Pirate Captains found in the game; Moriah, Roger, and Whitebeard, are all based on names of pirate characters from One Piece.
    • The Sea-Lab Base has one to Sealab 2021 in the form of the person in charge of the facility being named Captain Murphy, who is stated to be very eccentric (which also applies to the Scientists found there).
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World:
    • The Icecap Glacier is a massive landmass of ice that's found in the southern part of the region. Legend says that it was created by Orgaiathan.
    • The Aquatic Glacier, found in the Kingdom of Fisherie area near the Icecap Glacier, is an undersea variant.
  • Super Mode: Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise introduces a new such one called Z-Morph, which certain Pokémon take after using a Z-Move. When in Z-Form, the Pokémon's appearance changes, they become more powerful, and are able to use multiple Z-Moves instead of just once per battle.
  • Temple of Doom: Lantiquas has several of these given its nature. For notable examples:
    • The Frozen Temple, located in the Icecap Glacier area, is a vast underground structure that's frozen over, containing ice floor puzzles where you push large blocks around, and also quicksnow pools that can pull you down to a lower level.
    • The Aqua Temple, located on the seafloor, is a place with electricity powering various mechanisms that control the flow of water, working in a manner similar to the Great Bay Temple from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
    • The Grand Temple, located in Ancient Lantiquas, is a place that's sacred to the Old Lantiquans, who are known to perform an annual ceremony there in order to honor Mechonaken and Orgaiathan, who had protected Lantiquas when it sank.
    • The Strange Temple, located in the Kingdom of Brinas area, is a mysterious and bizarre structure that's said to contain something terrible at its center and that not even the Brinas themselves dare enter out of fear of it.
  • Tomorrow Land: Ancitech City found in the Icecap Glacier area is an unusual variation, being a city built out of recovered ancient Lantiquan technology, giving it a technologically advanced look that intertwines with an ancient feel.
  • Underwater Ruins: Lantiquas is shown to have a bunch of these, with more than 50% of the region's seafloor covered in ruins.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise's story has a double case:
    • The part of the plot involving the expedition to Old Lantiquas and what occurs there is meant to reference Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
    • The part of the plot involving the Big Bad and the adjacent Kingdoms of Lantiquas is meant to reference Aquaman (2018).

     Oceanic Lands DLC

They are normally represented by things such as beings with crystals on their bodies or are crystalline structures. Crystal-type Pokémon take on many forms regarding crystal, such as prism-like bodies, have compositions akin to certain jewels, are able to draw power from crystals, or possess the ability to create crystal. The Crystal-type holds many mysteries regarding their power.

Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise introduces a large number of new Pokémon, with them totaling to 108, many of which are of the new Cosmic and Crystal types. Befitting a region based off of Atlantis, a large amount of new Pokémon happen to be either oceanic or of ancient technological origin. The SFA-Dex L also happens to touch upon sea-life that hasn't been in Pokémon before, such as wholphins, whale sharks, a mantis shrimp, a spiny lobster, an electric eel, a scorpionfish, and more.      Ivyake, Rhubra, and Elderconda

A Grass/Poison-type rattlesnake with a poison ivy leaf for a tail, Ivyake is the Grass-type starter Pokémon in Lantiquas. It's usually found in forests, where it bites into prey with its large fangs, which contain a powerful poison that paralyzes. It becomes Rhubra, a cobra with barbs all over its body, which it drives into its prey's body while squeezing them and secreting acid from its pores to burn them. Rhubra ultimately becomes Elderconda, an anaconda that forms massive colonies deep within jungles and is said to protect ultra-rare orchids found in them.

Elderconda also has a Gigantamax form where it has grown colossal and its body has similarities to a train, with various plants like bushes and trees growing along its body. It's known to devour anything in its path, and it can swallow even Wailord and Islandale. There is a legend in the Tropic Jungle of what is known as the "Serpentine Jungle", where during the night, an enormous snake will slither through the area, consuming any it comes across.

Found on rocky cliff-sides, it starts off weak when it comes to fire moves, but it'll develop stronger fire-breathing over time. It becomes Fivern, which uses its small wings in order to glide between mountainsides, leaving flame trails in the air. Fivern ultimately becomes Draglare, which shows off fantastic gliding abilities in the sky, leaving large flame trails in the process.

Draglare also has a Gigantamax form where it grows far larger, especially with its wings, and becomes like an airship, being able to fly rather than glide. It breathes massive draconic flames that can ignite clouds and cause them to rain fire down on anything below.

  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: The line learns Dragon Drive, which is a Dragon-type version of Endless Fight where it's locked into the move until it switches out.

A Water/Ice-type blue-color dolphin that can adapt to frigid waters, Dolphice is the Water-type starter Pokémon in Lantiquas. They are known to form groups up in the far north, and will rarely come down into warmer southern waters. It becomes Porpeeze, a wholphin that forms schools and meets up on pack ice. Porpeeze ultimately becomes Glorca, an orca that travels in huge families from north to south, swimming under ice sheets.

Glorca also has a Gigantamax form where it turns gigantic and becomes a bit like a battleship, where thanks to its size, it can swim through frozen water as it were nothing. Its underside is encased in a thick sheet of blue ice that protects it and it has massive ice spikes on its upper half that it can launch at opponents.

  • Mighty Glacier: Glorca is this, with great HP and Special Defense and average or above average Attack, Defense, and Special Attack, but below average Speed.
  • Monster Whale: Glorca happens to be a very large orca, although like the rest of its line it also has aspects of a wholphin, which are dolphin/whale hybrids. Gigantamax Glorca takes this trope to the extreme as it's as big as a battleship!
  • Recurring Element: Another Water-type starter line. It's also another Water/Ice starter line like Cryscale.

Elemote, Katanya, Sawgraze, Teascoop, Laydle, Aquazura, and Zurillite

A small Normal-type Pokémon with a Hershey Kiss shape and big eyes, Elemote is able to become one of three different Pokémon; a Grass-type, a Fire-type, and a Water-type. At one point, Elemote was the starter Pokémon that was given to new Trainers, but due to the randomness of what it became, this resulted in some backlash over which evolution they got, which lead to the current set of starter Pokémon.

The three Pokémon that Elemote can become is the Grass-type Pokémon Katanya, a green-color walking head with a sharp leaf on its head, the Fire-type Teascoop, a red-color hamster with a long spoon on its head, and the Water-type Aquazura, a blue-color fish with a curved back. Katanya eventually becomes Sawgraze, a Grass/Ground Plant Person with two large leaves; Teascoop eventually becomes Laydle, a Fire/Psychic Cartoon Creature with a large catapult-like tail; and Aquazura eventually becomes Zurillite, a Water/Electric Sea Serpent that glows.

Sawgraze, Laydle, and Zurillite also have Mega Evolutions. Mega Sawgraze's leaf swords have become larger and dual-bladed, with it able to fell several large trees in a single swing and jump from tree to tree with ease. Mega Laydle's spoon has grown to the size of a large catapult and the flames on its back are now a white-blue color and able to melt down anything in its spoon, which can then be launched as a molten mass. Mega Zurillite has a much thicker and heavier body than normal and it possesses a power that allows it to repel water, even allowing it to move through the air underwater without getting wet.

  • Absurd Cutting Power: Katanya's leaf is said to be able to cut through a tree.
  • Always Accurate Attack: Katanya, Teascoop, and Aquazura each have an ability that makes attacks that are the same type as them never miss.
  • Barrier Warrior:
    • Elemote learns Safeguard, which protects the user's side from status conditions for five turns, early on.

     Magichine and Antiquaton

A Pokémon resurrected from the Machine Fossil, Magichine is a Rock/Psychic-type mechanical construct that had existed around the time of Ancient Lantiquas' beginning, said to have been their first mechanical creation, and was ancient even around the time Lantiquas sank. It becomes Antiquaton, a large semi-snake-shape machine said to have acted as a guardian robot.

Antiquaton comes with a Z-Form where its shape changes to that of an upstanding mech, with its various ancient Lantiquan weapons having become larger. It possessed the ability to copy any weapon that it saw and use them. A legend says Antiquaton's Z-Crystal and Z-Antiquaton itself were created by accident due to an experiment done by an Ancient Lantiquan scientist.

In Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise: Oceanic Lands, a strange silver-color Magichine that's smaller than normal was discovered by Prof. Cedar, who has brought it to the Marine Archology. This Magichine has time-travel abilities that allow it to travel into the past and bring back Pokémon and items from there. More specifically, the "Mysterious Magichine" brings back things from Hisui.

  • Making a Splash: A pair of Water-type Pokémon.
  • Man Bites Man: They learn Crunch and can also know Ice Fang by TM.
  • Mighty Glacier: Islandale has high Attack and Defense complimenting its extremely high HP, but happens to be slow.
  • Monster Whale: It's actually a whale shark, but Islandale is downright massive at 40'4 and weighting 1035.0 lbs, making it not far off from other gigantic seafaring Pokémon such as Wailord and Dhelmass! Also making it this is the fact that it sometimes eats Gyarados!
  • One-Hit Kill: Their final levelling move is the Ground-type Fissure.
  • Power Nullifier: Islefish and Islandale's Ground-typing makes them immune to Electric-type attacks and if they have Water Absorb as their ability, they're also immune to Water-type attacks.
  • Recurring Element: Islefish and Islandale are this to Wailmer and Wailord, both families being whale-based creatures that are ginormous.
  • Threatening Shark: Given that Islandale is a whale shark, although it's docile much of the time, the fact that it sometimes swallows prey as big as a Gyarados can still make it a bit unsettling.
  • Turtle Island: Islandale is this due to the fact that its back resembles a beach complete with sand, and it can sometimes be mistaken for an island.

     Finnorpion

Based on a scorpionfish, Finnorpion is a Water/Poison-type Pokémon. Having a vicious temperament, it uses its claw-like fins in order to slash at prey it comes across, using its poison-tipped tailfin to lethally poison them. Against larger opponents, such as Golisopod and Gyarados, it uses stealthy tactics in order to immobilize them with poison before they can strike back.

  • Action Initiative: It learns the Water-type priority move Aqua Jet.
  • Barrier Change Boss: Finnorpion learns Camouflage, which changes its type depending on the environment.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: A variation, as Finnorpion has a tailfin that acts like a scorpion's tail. Befitting this, it starts off with Poison Sting, learns Fell Stinger, and gets Poison Tail as an Egg Move.
  • Confusion Fu: Finnorpion can know damaging Water-, Poison-, Bug-, Dark-, Ice-, Chemical-, Ghost-, Fighting-, Rock-, Ground-, Steel-, Flying-, Grass-, and Normal-type moves.
  • Critical Hit: Finnorpion learns three such attacks that have a high chance for a critical hit; the Dark-type Night Slash, the Water-type Aqua Cross, and the Poison-type Cross Poison.
  • David Versus Goliath: Finnorpion is able to take down targets much larger than itself such as Golisopod and Gyarados through use of sneaky tactics.
  • Hollywood Acid: Finnorpion gets Chemical Missile, a Poison-type move that after doing damage causes acid rain to fall for five turns, by levelling.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Finnorpion is a borderline case, with great Attack and Speed and above average Defense. Tough Claws as its ability ups the power of most of its physical moves even further.
  • Magically Inept Fighter: While Finnorpion's Attack stat is 105, its Special Attack is only a little more than half of that at only 55.
  • Making a Splash: It's a Water-type Pokémon.
  • Poisonous Person: Finnorpion is Poison-type.
  • Scary Scorpions: An interesting variation. While actually a scorpionfish, Finnorpion's design, mainly with its side fins resembling claws and its tailfin resembling a scorpion's tail, makes it look like an actual scorpion. Since it lives in the sea, it's also effectively a sea scorpion.
  • Spike Shooter: It learns Pin Missile and can know Icicle Spear by TM.
  • Status-Buff Dispel: Finnorpion gets Haze, which resets stat changes, as an Egg Move.
  • Version-Exclusive Content: Finnorpion is exclusive to Pokémon Aquamarine.
  • Weak to Magic: Its Special Defense stat is only 55, meaning special attacks will do a ton of damage to it.

     Glasstrike

Strange Pokémon made of glass, Glasstrike are Crystal/Fighting-types resembling large glass figures. Their bodies are extremely fragile and it's not hard for their limbs to break off, although they have the ability to reattach them if needed. Because of this, they use the various sharp points and edges of their bodies as a means of attack against anything they deem dangerous towards them.

  • Achilles' Heel: Glasstrike has a double weakness to Psychic-type moves.
  • Action Initiative: It learns two such moves; Mach Punch and Sucker Punch.
  • Anti-Air: Sky Uppercut allows Glasstrike to hit opponents in the middle of using Fly, Sky Drop, or similar moves.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Its final learned move is Endless Fight, a powerful Fighting-type move that it gets locked into after it selects it.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: A Fighting-type Pokémon.
  • Confusion Fu: Glasstrike can know damaging Crystal, Fighting, Dark, Steel, Light, Grass, Fire, Electric, Ice, Psychic, Poison, Rock, Flying, Bug, Dragon, and Normal moves.
  • Critical Hit: It learns Focus Energy, which increases its chance of getting a critical hit, and Prism Blade, which has a higher chance of inflicting one.
  • Crystalline Creature: It's a Pokémon that's made of glass and resembles a glass figure.
  • Gemstone Assault: It's a Crystal-type Pokémon.
  • Glass Cannon: Glasstrike is a semi-literal take on this trope, given that it has a body made entirely of glass itself. Not only does it have extremely high Attack and very high Speed while having very low HP and defenses, but its only ability of Sharpened Glass increases the power of its moves while also increasing the damage it takes.
  • The Power of Glass: Glasstrike has a body that's made of glass and it has the ability to reattach broken limbs back on, which heal almost instantly. In addition, it learns several glass-based moves in Glass Shard, Mirror Flash, and Prism Blade.
  • Rush Boss: Any Glasstrike used by an opponent is effectively this, as their already super-high attack and already super-low Defense and Special Defense are made even moreso through Sharpened Glass, meaning usually either you'll K.O. them in either one or two hits, or they'll K.O. you in one or two hits.
  • Secret Art: Glasstrike is the only Pokémon with the Sharpened Glass ability, which not only increases the damage it does by 50%, but also the damage it takes by 50%, turning it into even more of a Glass Cannon than it already is.
  • Shoryuken: Glasstrike learns Sky Uppercut, which allows it to even hit airborne opponents.
  • Use Your Head: It learns Concussion, a Fighting-type move that can cause confusion, and can know Zen Headbutt by Technical Record.

     Gillbone

A Water/Ghost-type Pokémon, Gillbone is a large fish skeleton that is said to have broken off of a much larger skeletal fish. Residing in darkened waters, it uses its hard teeth to clamp down on prey, which it then tears up, although it lacks the ability to consume what it eats due to being nothing but bones. It's able to survive in any kind of water, even poisonous, but is preyed upon by Skelerate, which use its bones to make their swords.

  • Action Initiative: Gillbone gets the priority-based Shadow Sneak and Aqua Jet by Level Up.
  • Barrier Warrior: It learns Shadow Fence, a Ghost-type move that gives the user's side a Magic Coat effect for five turns.
  • Confusion Fu: Gillbone can know damaging Water- Ghost-, Dark-, Ice-, Psychic-, Rock- Ground-, Steel-, Fighting-, Grass-, Poison-, Bug-, Electric-, and Normal-type moves as well as the Fire-type Will-o-Wisp.
  • Death or Glory Attack: Its final learned move is Aqua Crush, a Water-type Double-Edge that causes the user to take 1/3 as much damage, which is mitigated by its Rock Head ability, which negates recoil damage.
  • Dem Bones: Gillbone happens to be composed of nothing but bones.
  • Expy: Gillbone is pretty much one to the Fishbone enemies from the Super Mario Bros. series.
  • Living Weapon: A literal, but undead, example. In addition to Gillbone bones being used as swords by Skelrate and Ghoulaptin, Gillbone itself is used as a sword by Dreadmiral.
  • Magically Inept Fighter: It has a great Attack stat of 105, but its Special Attack is less than half of that at only 50.
  • Making a Splash: Gillbone is a Water-type Pokémon.
  • Man Bites Man: It learns Bite, Ice Fang, and Crunch by levelling and can know Psychic Fangs by Technical Disk and Bug Bite by Move Tutor.
  • Mighty Glacier: Gillbone has great Attack and awesome Defense alongside average HP and Special Defense, but is quite slow.
  • No, I Am Behind You: Gillbone learns Phantom Force, where it disappears on the first turn before striking on the second.
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: Despite its Ghost-typing, it's more of a living skeleton that a ghost.
  • Riddle for the Ages: Gillbone is said to have broken off from a giant skeletal fish, which has never been identified, although the Levias Remains in the Ancient Islands might possibly be related to it.
  • The Hunter Becomes the Hunted: While Gillbone is known to attack prey from shadowy waters and tear it apart, it itself is hunted by Skelerate and its evolutions, who use its bones to make their swords.
  • Version-Exclusive Content: Gillbone is exclusive to Pokémon Turquoise.

     Skelerate, Ghoulaptin, and Dreadmiral

A short skeletal Ghost Pirate, Skelerate is a Ghost/Fighting-type Pokémon that sharpens bones from Gillbone to use as swords and works in a group under the command of Ghoulaptin. It becomes Ghoulaptin, which takes on the role of captain and commandeers a Dhelmass to serve as its ship, attacking those its crew comes across on the high seas. It ultimately becomes Dreadmiral, a Pirate King that is said to rule over multiple groups of Skelerate and Ghoulaptin, using an entire Gillbone as its weapon. The only way for a Ghoulaptin to become a Dreadmiral is for it to defeat the current reigning Dreadmiral.

  • Action Initiative: The line learns Shadow Sneak early on and gets Sucker Punch as an Egg Move.
  • Anti-Frustration Features: Since in order for Ghoulaptin to evolve it needs to defeat a Dreadmiral in a battle, since it can be hard to find one to defeat otherwise, an uncatchable Dreadmiral at Level 40 appears once a week in one area of Turqidal Castle, giving you a convenient one to find.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Dreadmiral gets Sacred Sword, which ignores any stat changes on the opponent when doing damage.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Skelerate gets the strong move Endless Fight as an Egg Move.
  • Bad to the Bone: Skelerate and Ghoulaptin fashion swords made from Gillbone bones, with Ghoulaptin's sword consisting of multiple bones. Dreadmiral takes this up a notch as it uses the whole Gillbone (albeit thinned and sharpened) as its sword.
  • Boss Battle: Dreadmiral is the strongest Pokémon of Pirate Captain Whitebeard, hailed as the strongest pirate in Lantiquas and its current Pirate King, very fitting for someone such as him.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: They're a line of Fighting-type Pokémon.
  • Combat Pragmatist: The line can know a large number of Dark-type moves, such as Power Trip, Night Slash, Torment, and Sucker Punch. Makes sense given the pragmatic practices of pirates in general.
  • Confusion Fu: Dreadmiral can know damaging moves of every type other than Fairy, Light, Chemical, and Cosmic.
  • Critical Hit: Skelerate, Ghoulaptin, and Dreadmiral learn Slash and the Dark-type Night Slash, which have a high chance for a critical hit, and Dreadmiral gets Iron Blade, which is always a critical hit.
  • Dem Bones: The family happens to be skeletal ghosts, further reflected in them using bones from another Pokémon as weapons and learning Bone Rush and Shadow Bone.
  • Expy: They happen to be one of a similar line from Pokémon Uranium.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration:
    • It's said the only way for a Ghoulaptin to become a Dreadmiral is for it to defeat the current Dreadmiral. Defeating a Dreadmiral in battle is what causes Ghoulaptin to evolve into one.
    • Pirate Captain Whitebeard is the only pirate in the game that has a Dreadmiral in their lineup, even in the post-game. Since he's the current Pirate King, this means that no pirate with a Ghoulaptin has ever been able to defeat him and said Dreadmiral, thus preventing their Ghoulaptin from evolving.
  • Ghost Pirate: The line in its entirety is meant to be this, with Skelerate having the rank of pirate, Ghoulaptin the rank of captain, and Dreadmiral the rank of pirate king.
  • Ghost Ship: Ghoulaptin are known to have Dhelmass serve as their vessels, which they use as home for them and their Skelerate cohorts.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: Given that Dreadmiral is supposed to be a pirate king and is quite dreaded, this is pretty much the case for female Dreadmiral.
  • Hook Hand: Dreadmiral has a large hook made of Gillbone bone replacing its left hand, serving as a weapon alongside its Gillbone skeleton used as a sword.
  • HP to One: They learn False Swipe, which cannot bring the opponent's HP lower than 1.
  • Irony: You wouldn't expect Dreadmiral, a ruthless ghost pirate king, to get a move called Sacred Sword, would you?
  • King of Thieves: Dreadmiral happens to be one of the Pirate King variety, being in charge of all Skelerate and Ghoulaptin in its domain.
  • Klingon Promotion: In order for a Ghoulaptin to become a Dreadmiral and lead the various Skelerate and Ghoulaptin, it must bring down the current reigning Dreadmiral.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Dreadmiral is this with its awesome Attack, great Speed, very good HP, and about average Defense and Special Defense.
  • Monster Lord: As it's known as the Pirate King, Dreadmiral is said to command a whole navy of Skelerate and Ghoulaptin, with all of them answering to it.
  • Secret Art: Skelerate, Ghoulaptin, and Dreadmiral are the only Pokémon with the Victory Cry ability, which restores the HP and PP for all of your Pokémon in play upon defeating the opponent's last Pokémon.
  • Soul Power: Ghost-type Pokémon, befitting their role as ghost pirates.
  • Use Your Head: Skelerate, Ghoulaptin, and Dreadmiral learn the Fighting-type Concussion, get Headbutt as an Egg Move, and Dreadmiral is able to know Zen Headbutt by Technical Record.

     Lapana, Manazuli, and Prismanus

A living mana crystal, Lapana is a Crystal-type Pokémon that utilizes the energy of living things in order to sustain itself. It becomes Manazuli, where it gains the Psychic-type and is able to absorb the life energy of things to convert into power for itself. It ultimately becomes Prismanus, a large amalgam of crystals that draws life energy from others and converts it into matter in the form of more crystals.

Prismanus also has a Z-Form where its crystalline structure changes and its body become many times harder than even diamond. It gains three red, green, and blue color crystals that orbit around it and can fire powerful beams of these colors, with these crystals sometimes acting on their own. Z-Prismanus also floats in the air using its psychic powers.

  • Boss Battle:
    • Prismanus is the strongest Pokémon of Geo, the sixth Gym Leader in Lantiquas.
    • Z-Prismanus is the main Pokémon of Khrysim when battled the second time.

  • Herd-Hitting Attack: They get three such moves by levelling; Prism Blizzard, Crystal Wave, and Diamond Burst.
  • Home Field Advantage: Lapana, Manazuli, and Prismanus get Crystal Surge, which summons Crystal Field for five turns, as their hidden ability. This is also Z-Prismanus' ability.
  • Life Drain: This family of Pokémon absorbs life energy in order to do things such as sustain itself or increase its own power, with Prismanus able to transform the energy from living things into crystals. This is reflected in them getting Spirit Drain by levelling.
  • Mana Drain: They learn Spirit Drain, a damaging Psychic-type move that restores 20% of the PP of their other moves.
  • No Biological Sex: Lapana, Manazuli, and Prismanus are genderless due to being non-organic lifeforms.
  • Power Crystal: Lapana is basically this, with Manazuli and Prismanus being more complicated crystal constructs.
  • Psychic Powers: Manazuli and Prismanus are Psychic-type.
  • Secret Art: Prismanus is the only Pokémon to get the Crystal Tower Z-Move, which when doing damage has a 2a STAB modifier than the normal 1.5x one.
  • Squishy Wizard: Prismanus has incredible Special Attack alongside great Special Defense and average HP and Speed, but low Attack and Defense.
  • Super Mode: Prismanus happens to have a Z-Form.
  • Super-Toughness: Their normal ability is Filter, which reduces all super-effective damage done to them.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: The line's final learned move is the Crystal-type Spectrum Cannon.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: Lapana, Manazuli, and Prismanus learn Diamond Burst, which in addition to damage prevents any opposing Pokémon from escaping.

     Ruinolum, Anciuctra, and Ruinossus

A trio of Rock/Ground ruin Pokémon, Ruinolum is a large floating pillar with an eye that is known to help support ancient ruins. It eventually becomes Anciuctra, a large structure with an eye that makes up part of various ruins in the region. Finally, it becomes Ruinossus, a massive walking colosseum that in ancient times would have Pokémon battles take place inside it.

Ruinossus has a Gigantamax form where it becomes a gigantic floating palace surrounded by countless Ruinolum and Anciuctra that it can control. Legends say that before Lantiquas sank, they would serve as palaces for Lantiquas' kings who would float around the region in them.

  • Rolling Attack: The line gets Steamroller by levelling and can know Rollout and Steel Roller by Move Tutor.
  • Secret Art: Gigantamax Ruinossus is the only Pokémon with the Ground-type G-Max move G-Max Demolition, which lowers the opponent's Defense and does extra damage if there is a Field Effect in play before removing that Field Effect.

     Steelector, Mortector, and Concrector

A trio of mechanical golems called the Barrier Titans, Steelector, Mortector, and Concrector are Ground-type Legendary Pokémon constructed out of Lantiquan steel, Lantiquan mortar, and Lantiquan concrete. They have the power to create large barriers that can block attacks and were said to have protected Lantiquas when it sank into the ocean. Each one resides in an ancient technologically advanced facility that are known as the Barrier Bases. It's said that whenever Lantiquas is in danger, the Barrier Titans will awaken once more in order to protect the region from disaster.

  • Achilles' Heel: Concrector has a double weakness to Grass and would have one to Water if it weren't for Armor of Lantiquas. In addition, Mortector would have one to Crystal if it weren't for the same ability.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Mortector learns the powerful Fighting-type move Endless Fight.
  • Barrier Warrior:
    • All three of them are this, with them able to create shields that protect from various threats or dangers. In the ancient past, they were said to have surrounded Lantiquas with a large barrier to protect it from the Crystal Death.

    • Their design is similar to the Ruin Guardians from Genshin Impact.
  • Extra-ore-dinary: Steelector is Steel-type.
  • Gemstone Assault: Steelector has several large crystals on its body and can know several Crystal-type moves by Technical Machine, Record, and Disk. Concrector happens to get Geode Flash by levelling.
  • Golem: They are mechanical golems created from Lantiquan steel (Steelector), Lantiquan mortar (Mortector), and Lantiquan concrete (Concrector).
  • Left Hanging: During the course of the game, Team Prismatic was investigating the Barrier Bases and late during the game, they launch a simultaneous attack on all three with the intent of capturing the Barrier Titans. However, their purpose with the three is never revealed, as during the post-game, Ishmael says that he had the three of them returned to their respective areas, seeing as Team Prismatic's plans were thwarted. One theory regarding what Team Prismatic was going to do with them was generate a shield to protect Old Lantiquas from the Crystal Death, as part of Khrysim's plan involves keeping his home intact. The Oceanic Lands DLC adds in a short scene during the endgame and dialogue from Ishmael during the post-game that confirms this is the case.
  • Magma Man: Steelector and Cocrector both get Earth Power by levelling with Mortector also able to know it by Technical Disk.

     Mechonaken and Orgaiathan

The main Legendary Pokémon for Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise, Mechonaken is a giant bio-mechanical Water/Electric-type Pokémon that appears to be a cross between a serpent, kraken, and lobster, while Orgaiathan is a huge organic Water/Ice-type Pokémon that appears to be a cross between a plesiosaur, dinosaur, and arthropod. Mechonaken represents instability, being able to control the flow of the oceans' energy and continuously increase or decrease it, while Orgaiathan represents stability, being able to control the oceans' temperature and endlessly raise or lower it. Mechonaken is said to have sank Lantiquas while Orgaiathan is said to have preserved Lantiquas.

In Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise Oceanic Lands, Staldrlyon is able to cause a strange form of crystallization to happen to Mechonaken and Orgaiathan called "Crystasis". Mechonaken has squares of aquamarine crystal along its body as well as crystal protrusions along its head, claws, and tail, and it becomes Crystal/Electric-type, with its mechanized claws now indestructible and able to cut absolutely anything, even cleaving the ocean in two. Orgaiathan has turquoise crystal form around its body as an armored shell protecting it from attacks as well as crystal points on its head, with it becoming Crystal/Ice-type and said to be able to turn the water in all the oceans to solid crystal.

In the Ancient Islands DLC for Oceanic Lands, it turns out that Mechonaken and Orgaiathan can achieve something known as Z-Fusion, where the two of them combine into one being, which they are said to do when Lantiquas is in its greatest danger. In this form, they have the power to infinitely expand water and their control over the oceans have increased exponentially. It's been told that they can raise the level of the oceans to the point where not only all the world's landmasses are submerged, but so are the clouds and the sky itself. Z-Mechonaken & Orgaiathan is Electric/Ice-type.

  • Always Accurate Attack: Both of them get moves that ensure the next move is this by levelling; Lock-on for Mechonaken and Mind Reader for Orgaiathan.
  • An Ice Person: Orgaiathan is Ice-type.
  • Boss Battle:
    • Depending on the game, either Mechonaken or Orgaiathan is the strongest Pokémon used by Khrysim when battled inside King Lantin's chamber.
    • In Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise Oceanic Lands, after defeating Khrysim, you then end up having to battle Crystasis Mechonaken or Orgaiathan, which are at Level 300, much like Crystallization Staldrlyon.
  • Bragging Rights Reward: Mechonaken and Orgaiathan's Z-Fusion form is effectively this due to the fact that it's unattainable until the after the conclusion of the Ancient Islands DLC in Oceanic Lands, which doesn't happen until well into the postgame.
  • Breaking Old Trends: Z-Mechonaken & Orgaiathan is notable for being treated as a single shared form for both Pokémon rather than two separate forms, unlike other Pokémon that fuse together such as Anchetis and Borealis or Basiboros and Griffirice.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Both Legendaries' signature moves are able to do this to Mega and Dynamaxed Pokémon, respectively. Their Crystasis forms are able to do this to Z-Pokémon through the move Crystal Wrath.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Orgaiathan learns Ice Cannon, an Ice-type variation of Eruption, Water Spout, and Solar Energy that has a chance for freezing the opponent that also decreases the lower Orgaiathan's HP is.
  • Confusion Fu:
    • Mechonaken can know damaging moves of every type other than Fire, Poison, Fairy, and Chemical.
    • Orgaiathan can know damaging moves of every type other than Fire, Poison, Flying, Ghost, Dark, and Cosmic.
  • The Corruption: In Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise Oceanic Lands, Staldrlyon is able to use a strange power called Crystasis to crystallize Mechonaken and Orgaiathan, which causes them to gain the Crystal-type along with Staldrlyon's signature ability and move of Zeta Breaker and Crystal Wrath.
  • Death or Glory Attack: Mechonaken learns the Electric-type Wild Charge and the Water-type Aqua Crush while Orgaiathan learns the Ice-type Ice Burst.
  • Divine Parentage: Lantiquas has two local legends involving these Pokémon; that Zurillite is descended from Mechonaken, and that Lapras is descended from Orgaiathan.
  • Expy: Both of them are this:
  • Fusion Dance: Starting in the Ancient Islands, Mechonaken and Orgaiathan are able to fuse together through what is called Z-Fusion, which requires the use of Mechorgaium Z. They are said to have achieved this form only once, which was used to overpower Staldrlyon and reverse the Crystal Death.
  • Gem-Encrusted: In Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise Oceanic Lands, through Crystasis, Mechonaken and Orgaiathan have panels of crystal lining their bodies.
  • Gemstone Assault: In their Crystasis forms, Mechonaken and Orgaiathan are both Crystal-type.
  • Geo Effects: Mechonaken starts off with the Electric-type Electric Terrain while Orgaiathan starts off with the Ice-type Frost Field.
  • Giant Enemy Crab: Mechonaken is notably crustacean in appearance, and it has massive claws that are utilized in its signature move of Hydraulic Spark.
  • The Great Serpent: While Mechonaken is this due to being mainly serpentine with a length of 30'2, in Lantiquan legends, it's said to be long enough to surround all of Lantiquas!
  • Hijacking Cthulhu: Shortly after the events aboard the Helixalus, Khrysim, Team Prismatic's leader, manages to control Mechonaken (Aquamarine) or Orgaiathan (Turquoise) using the Trident of Lantin.
  • Kaiju: The legends regarding Mechonaken and Orgaiathan depict them as being either long enough to surround a continent or as big as a continent.
  • Kraken and Leviathan: Mechonaken and Orgaiathan are meant to represent these, both of them massive sea creatures. Mechonaken represents the former and Orgaiathan the latter.
  • Lord of the Ocean: Both Mechonaken and Orgaiathan have some kind of control over oceans, with Mechonaken able to control and manipulate their energy and Orgaiathan able to control and manipulate their temperature. Mechonaken is also said to be able to transport something or someone to a dimension of water.
  • Magic Knight: Z-Mechonaken & Orgaiathan combines the Attack and Special Attack stats of both Pokémon, allowing it to hit extremely hard with both physical or special attacks.
  • Making a Splash: Both are Water-type Pokémon. In their Crystasis forms, the Aquatic Body part of their Aquatic Zeta Breaker ability retains this aspect of them when it comes to damage from moves.
  • Mechanical Lifeforms: Mechonaken is a Pokémon that appears as mechanical in nature.
  • Mighty Glacier: Mechonaken is this with incredible Attack and Defense alongside great HP and Special Defense, but its Speed is average by Legendary standards.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: The two of them come off as this, with Mechonaken being a cross between an eel, lobster, and kraken, and Orgaiathan being a cross between a whale, plesiosaur, and dinosaur.
  • Olympus Mons: They are another pair of Legendary Pokémon.
  • Power Nullifier: The Zeta Breaker half of their Crystasis form's Aquatic Zeta Breaker ability makes them immune to all damage and effects of Z-Moves. In addition, said form's Crystal-type makes them immune to Water-type moves.
  • Psychic Powers: They each get a Psychic-type move by levelling; Mechonaken learning Zen Headbutt (although it doesn't necessarily involve psychic powers) and Orgaiathan learning Extrasensory.
  • Recurring Element: They happen to be another pair of main Legendary Pokémon:
    • Like Reshiram & Zekrom and Zacian & Zamazenta, you obtain one of them while another character obtains the other, with that character using the other one against you.
    • Like Reshiram & Zekrom and Solgaleo & Lunala, the third main Legendary is able to assimilate them, although Mechonaken and Orgaiathan are still the ones in control.
    • Like Anchetis & Borealis, they are able to fuse into one being through an ancient artifact, where their powers combine.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: In Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise Oceanic Lands, after sealing away Staldrlyon and returning to normal, Mechonaken or Orgaiathan abandons Khrysim and retreats into the water in the back of the chamber.
  • Sea Serpents: Mechonaken is primarily this, although it also has large tentacles and massive lobster-like claws.
  • Secret Art:
    • Mechonaken has the signature ability of Mega Armor, which reduces damage done to it by Mega-Evolved Pokémon, and the signature move of Hydraulic Spark, a dual Water-Electric move that if used on a Mega Pokémon, returns them to normal.
    • Orgaiathan has the signature ability of Dyna Body, which reduces damage done to it by Dynamaxed Pokémon, and the signature move of Freezing Vortex, a dual Water-Ice move that if used on a Dynamax Pokémon, returns them to normal.
    • Their Crystasis forms both get Aquatic Zeta Breaker, a combination of Aquatic Body and Zeta Breaker that gives them the weaknesses and resistances of Water-type Pokémon and makes them immune to Z-Moves, and Staldrlyon's signature move of Crystal Wrath.
    • In their Z-Fusion form, they get the ability Mega-Dyna Armored Body, a combination of Mega Armor and Dyna Body, as well as the Z-Move Fusion of the Oceans, which is Water, Electric, and Ice-type and raises their Attack and Special Attack stats, does damage based on which Attack stat is higher, and bypasses Crystal and Ground's immunities to Water and Electric.
  • Shock and Awe: Mechonaken is Electric-type.
  • SNK Boss: In Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise Oceanic Lands, you end up having to battle either Crystasis Mechonaken or Orgaiathan, who is at Level 300 and can't be caught by the player. This fight is similar to the one with Crystallization Staldrlyon, but unlike the latter, Crystasis Mechonaken or Orgaiathan still have weaknesses you can exploit.
  • Squishy Wizard: Orgaiathan is this with incredible Special Attack and Special Defense, although its Attack and Defense are still good by normal standards.
  • Status Buff: Both of them learn a move that sharply increases one of their Defense stats, with Mechonaken learning Iron Defense for Defense and Orgaiathan learning Amnesia for Special Defense.
  • Status-Buff Dispel: Mechonaken learns Haze, which rests all stat changes on each Pokémon.
  • Sword of Plot Advancement: You're required to catch either Orgaiathan or Mechonaken depending on the game. This actually has an In-Universe reason, as it's a test by presumably the spirit of King Lantin and catching it is required to open the way to the core of King Lantin's chamber.
  • Time Abyss: Mechonaken and Orgaiathan were said to have presided over Lantiquas before it sank, which was multiple millennia ago.
  • Turtle Island: Legends say that the Lantiquas region rests on the back of Orgaiathan.
  • Walking Spoiler: Mechonaken and Orgaiathan's shared Z-Form is kept under lock and key during the events of the game, only revealed at the end of the Ancient Islands DLC for Oceanic Lands.
  • Your Size May Vary: Mechonaken is told in legends to be long enough to surround the entirety of Lantiquas while Orgaiathan is said in myths to be so huge that all of Lantiquas resides on its back, which contrasts their given sizes.

     Staldrlyon

An ancient dragon of crystal, Staldrlyon is a Crystal/Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon said to be able to absorb all things that are crystal and also is the source of Z-Morph. At the height of Lantiquan civilization, King Lantin created the Trident of Lantin in order to try and harness the power of Staldrlyon, only for the dragon to cause the fall of Lantiquas instead. Staldrlyon was sealed at the planet's core by King Lantin in order to protect the rest of the world from what is called the Crystal Death, an endless wave of crystal that would turn the world and everything in it to crystal. However, Mechonaken and Orgaiathan are said to be the key to awakening Staldrlyon… In Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise Oceanic Lands, Staldrlyon is able to use its power to crystallize Mechonaken and Orgaiathan, a process known as "Crystasis".

  • Apocalypse How: Staldrlyon is able to trigger the Crystal Death, a world-enveloping wave that turns everything to crystal. Khrysim plans on triggering it in order to destroy the surface world, only sparing the undersea world.
  • Ancient Evil: Staldrlyon is the one responsible for the fall of Lantiquas and is able to create the Crystal Death, which can turn the world into crystal.
  • Anti-Frustration Features: During the battle with Crystallization Staldrlyon, since it's at a staggering Level 300, it has an effect that cuts its Attack and Special Attack down to 25% so that it can't one shot everything used against it (although such stats still come off as extremely high in the battle). In addition, since the battle can take upwards of half and hour, there's a fast-forward feature that can speed up the attack animations if desired.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Staldrlyon learns the powerful move Dragon Drive, which is a Dragon-type variation of Endless Fight.
  • Boss Battle: Staldrlyon gets an interesting one when it's battled in its Crystallization form, where it's at Level 300 and is fought in the form of a Max Raid Battle alongside Milo, Makoto, and Maya, with each character having access to Mega Evolution, Z-Moves/Z-Morph, and Dynamax during the battle.
  • Beneath the Earth: Staldrlyon is found frozen at the planet's core, having been sealed there by King Lantin millennia ago.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Staldrlyon's signature move of Crystal Wrath is able to do this to Z-Pokémon.
  • Confusion Fu: Staldrlyon can know damaging moves of every type other than Poison and Chemical.
  • The Corruption: In Pokémon Aquamarine and Turquoise Oceanic Lands, Staldrlyon can cause Mechonaken and Orgaiathan to undergo something called Crystasis, which causes crystal akin to its own to form along their bodies.
  • Crystalline Creature: Staldrlyon happens to be a large dragon made of crystal.
  • Defend Command: It learns Wide Guard, which protects the user's side from attacks that hit multiple targets.
  • Draconic Abomination: A Dragon-type Pokémon that is crystalline in nature and responsible for the existence of Z-Morph.
  • Elemental Absorption: Staldrlyon's body is able to absorb anything crystal, although this aspect of it isn't the case when in battle.
  • Expy: Staldrlyon is one of Seath the Scaleless from Dark Souls, the Stormterror from Genshin Impact, and the Heart of Atlantis from Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
  • Foil: Staldrlyon is this to Eternatus. Eternatus has a skeletal body with a red skeleton while Staldrlyon has a crystalline body with a blue skeleton. While Eternatus came from outer space, Staldrlyon came from the core of the planet (or was sealed there).
  • Gemstone Assault: A Crystal-type Pokémon.
  • Geo Effects: It starts off with the Crystal-type Crystal Field.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Staldrlyon has incredible Attack and Special Attack alongside great HP, good Speed, and average Defense and Special Defense.
  • Man Bites Man: It gets Crunch by levelling and can know the elemental fangs by TM and Psychic Fangs by Technical Disk.
  • Meaningful Name: Staldrlyon's name comes from "Crystal", which it's composed of, "Dragon", which is its shape, and "Apollyon", which references its ability to end the world through the Crystal Death.
  • Olympus Mons: Staldrlyon is a Legendary Pokémon of incredible power that is linked to Lantiquas' past.
  • Playing with Fire: It learns Dragon Fire, a Fire-type move that Dragon-types also get STAB for.
  • Power Nullifier: Staldrlyon's signature ability of Zeta Breaker makes it immune to all Z-Moves. In addition, its Crystal type makes it immune to Water-type moves.
  • Recurring Element:
    • Staldrlyon follows the same pattern as Pokémon like Solares, Variruin, Atlaunis, and Reflatera, being the third main Legendary found in the game.
    • Like Rayquaza, Necrozma, and Eternatus, it's is the source of a specific powered-up mechanic present in the game, in this case Z-Morph.
    • Like Zygarde, Necrozma, and Eternatus, it's a mysterious Legendary Pokémon that is connected to the two main Legendaries in the game.
    • Like Eternatus, it's another strange dragon with mass destructive power that's vastly different from the other two members of its trio, possesses a much more powerful form, is the cause of a specific Super Mode in its region of origin, and is the center of the main villain's plans.
  • Redemption Demotion: When you're able to actually catch Staldrlyon in the postgame, it's not found at Level 300 and can never reach that high of a level. Its Crystallization form is also unattainable.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Staldrlyon was sealed away in the core of the planet by King Lantin, with either Mechonaken or Orgaiathan watching over it and the one used to unseal it.
  • Secret Art:
    • Staldrlyon has the signature ability of Zeta Breaker, which prevents all damage done to it by Z-Moves, and the signature move of Crystal Wrath, a dual Crystal-Dragon move that's either physical or special depending on which stat is higher and when used on a Z-Pokémon, returns them to normal.
    • Crystallization Staldrlyon has the ability Crystallized Body, which removes all weaknesses that it would normally have.
  • SNK Boss: When awakened by Khrysim during the endgame, it's fought at Level 300, several times higher than the maximum level of a Pokémon, period! In addition, it has an ability that reduces all super-effective damage done to it to normal.
  • Status Buff: It gets Power Flex, which sharply increases its Attack and Special Attack, by Level Up, and can know Dragon Dance by Technical Disk.
  • Super Mode: During the climax of Team Prismatic's plans, after starting the Crystal Death, Staldrlyon enters its Crystallization form, where its body glows a bright aqua blue and its spikes, horns, and wings grow longer and sharper. In this form, it's at Level 300 and has an ability that removes all of its weaknesses. This form cannot be used by the player.
  • Time Abyss: Given that it's the one that caused the fall of Lantiquas, Staldrlyon is untold millennia old, although it was sealed away for most of that time.

     Seiocheux

A terrifying crocodile-like creature, Seiocheux is a Dragon/Rock-type Mythical Pokémon that in myths is known as the "indestructible lizard". Immortal, it's said that absolutely nothing can kill it and it's also known to have an immense hatred for life, viciously attacking any and all living things it comes across. Seiocheux's origins are a mystery, with a few different stories regarding its identity, but it's said to have been sealed away in a temple found somewhere in Ancient Lantiquas.

  • Barrier Warrior: Seiocheux learns Draco Shield, which quarters all damage done to it for two turns.
  • Confusion Fu: Seiocheux can know damaging moves of every type other than Flying, Fairy, Light, and Chemical (but can know Fluoric Acid).
  • Defend Command: It starts off with Protect.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: A Rock-type Pokémon.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Seiocheux happens to basically be this, given its terrifying appearance and physics-defying invulnerability.
  • Expy: Seiocheux is heavily inspired by SCP-682, being an unkillable reptile that hates all other life and has a Multiple-Choice Past. Its name is even derived from the words for "six-eight two" in various languages.
  • Heal Thyself: It learns both Recover and Rest, both of which allow it to get back some of its massive HP.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: It learns Foul Play, which utilizes the opponent's Attack stat instead of the user's.
  • Immortality: Seiocheux is said to be immortal, which probably coincides with its inability to be destroyed in any way.
  • I Shall Taunt You: It learns Taunt by levelling.
  • Made of Indestructium: This is Seiocheux in a nutshell. It's said that nothing is able to kill it, no matter what it is, with it even being said that reality bends to keep it alive.
  • Man Bites Man: Seiocheux learns Bite, Crunch, and Super Fang, and can know the elemental fangs and Psychic Fangs by TM and Technical Disk.
  • Meaningful Name: Seiocheux's name is derived from sei, Italian for "six", ocho, Spanish for "eight", and deux, French for "two", thus its name basically being "six-eight-two", the same number as SCP-682 of which it is based on.
  • Multiple-Choice Past: There is said to be several stories regarding the origin of Seiocheux, but which one, if any, is true is unknown.
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: Seiocheux is crocodilian in terms of appearance, and it's a dangerous creature with a hatred for all life.
  • Olympus Mons: It's a Mythical Pokémon with some sort of unknown power and myths that describe its extreme invulnerability.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Seiocheux has an intense hatred for all life, and will attack all living things it comes across with the intent to kill.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Although a Dragon-type Pokémon, Seiocheux is more of a crocodile.
  • Percent Damage Attack: Seiocheux learns Super Fang, which cuts the opponent's HP by half.
  • Power Copying: Seiocheux learns Mimic, which is meant to reflect the (admittedly false) idea that SCP-682 can copy abilities.
  • Secret Art:
    • Seiocheux is the only Pokémon that gets Adaptive Strike, a Dragon-type move that in addition to damage makes it so that all damage done to it by attacks that are the same type as the target is halved. This effect even happens if the target is immune to damage from the attack.
    • Seiocheux is the only Pokémon with the Invulnerable ability, which makes it so that if it were to be knocked out, there is a 25% chance of it remaining with one HP, acting like a built-in Focus Band.
  • Status Buff: It learns Cosmic Power, which ups its Defense and Special Defense. It can also know a few others, such as Dragon Dance, by Technical Disk.
  • Stone Wall: Seiocheux's stats are geared towards this, with immense HP alongside high Defense and Special Defense and access to moves that make it even more of this, such as Draco Shield, Cosmic Power, Rest, and Recover.

     Neunaitise

A strange orange blob-like creature, Neunaitise is a Fairy/Chemical-type Mythical Pokémon that is known to be extremely friendly to all living things and is perpetually happy no matter what the situation. It exudes a calming aura that can pacify those around it, ridding them of any anger and aggression they may have. Considered to be only an infant, it's said Neunaitise will grow stronger over time and eventually combat a great threat that will emerge one day.

  • Always Accurate Attack: Neunaitise learns Disarming Voice early on.
  • Badass Adorable: Neunaitise is a Pokémon that has a cute and lovable appearance, but can hinder the opponent by making them only attack every other turn, and on top of that it's been told that when a great evil emerges one day, it'll be the one to combat it.
  • Blob Monster: A "Pure Good" version of this trope, as Neunaitise is a very kind and caring Pokémon with a happy look to match.
  • Chemistry Can Do Anything: A Chemical-type Pokémon.
  • Confusion Fu: Neunaitise can know damaging Fairy, Chemical, Light, Psychic, Fire, Grass, Ice, Electric, Water, Fighting, Dark, Ghost, Poison, Bug, and Normal moves.
  • Cooldown Hug: It can pacify anyone that is angry or aggressive by making contact with them, no matter who they are.
  • Critical Hit: It learns Lucky Chant, which prevents these from happening.
  • Expy: Neunaitise is meant to be an obvious one of SCP-999.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Neunaitise is known to be an all-around friendly Pokémon and will try and help people and Pokémon it comes across.
  • Geo Effects: Neunaitise learns Misty Terrain.
  • Goo-Goo-Godlike: Neunaitise has shades of this, as it's stated to currently only be an infant and will grow bigger and stronger over time, eventually fighting a great evil that will threaten the world.
  • Herd-Hitting Attack: It learns Chemical Pulse, which hits multiple opponents in multi-Pokémon battles.
  • Meaningful Name: Neunaitise's name is derived from neun, German for "nine", nain, Japanese for "nine", and tise, Arabic for "nine", thus its name basically being "nine-nine-nine", the same number as SCP-999 of which it is based on.
  • Necessary Drawback: Due to the fact that its ability acts like a reverse Truant, Neunaitise's stats are far lower than most other Mythical Pokémon, with its BST at only 450, in order to try and prevent it from becoming too broken. It also can't know Protect or other similar moves for this reason, as otherwise using them on the turn the opponent would be able to attack would effectively make it invincible.
  • Olympus Mons: It's a Mythical Pokémon that is told in stories will eventually grow big and strong to defeat a great evil one day.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: Despite its Fairy-type, Neunaitise is a liquid-like blob.
  • Riddle for the Ages: Exactly where did Neunaitise come from and exactly what is the great threat it's prophesized to stop one day are questions that are unanswered.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Much like SCP-999, which it is based on, Neunatise looks very cute and adorable for a blob.
  • Secret Art:
    • Neunaitise is the only Pokémon to get Guard Remover, a Fairy-type move that reduces the opponent's Defense and Special Defense to minimum for one turn.
    • Neunaitise is the only Pokémon with the Slowing Aura ability, which makes it so that the opponent can only attack every other turn.
  • Squishy Wizard: Neunaitise has good Special Attack and Special Defense, but poor Attack and Defense.
  • Status Buff: It starts off with Liquid Coat, which sharply ups whatever defensive stat is lower.
  • Status Effects: Neunaitise gets Fairy Dust, which can poison, burn, paralyze, or put the opponent to sleep, by levelling.
  • Support Power: Neunaitise gets Helping Hand by levelling.
  • The Unfettered: Neunaitise always remains happy and cheerful, no matter what the situation around it happens to be.

     Wenskulox

A fearsome entity based on the wendigo, Wenskulox is a Ground/Poison-type Mythical Pokémon that's said to emerge during times of famine and plague. It's told in stories to be a cruel creature that strikes fear into the hearts of people and Pokémon and torments any that it comes across, being completely devoid of any compassion. Wenskulox is said to normally tread through deep forested areas on the hunt for prey to abduct and take to its lair.

Wenskulox also has a Z-Form, which is said that only the strongest one can attain. It becomes even more ferocious-looking and emits an aura of fear that hits all living things in a radius of several miles. This fear physically paralyzes those that get caught in it, preventing them from escaping. Z-Wenskulox is destined to lead its pack in a terrifying campaign of dread and torment upon all those that come across it.

  • Combat Pragmatist: Wenskulox can know a large number of Dark-type moves, and this is further reflected in its signature move of Black Poison, which does damage as if the move was Dark-type, and its ability of Shadow Body, which adds the Dark-type defensively to it.
  • Critical Hit: It learns two such moves that have a higher chance of this; Night Slash and Cross Poison.
  • Confusion Fu: Wenskulox can know damaging moves of every type other than Water, Light, and Cosmic.
  • Dark Is Evil: It's a Pokémon that can know several Dark-type moves, has dark colors, and is a cruel and feared creature.
  • Dem Bones: Wenskulox has a face like a skull and limbs like bones, and it gets Bone Rush by levelling.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: A Ground-type Pokémon.
  • The Dreaded: Wenskulox is known as the Dreaded Pokémon and it's said to strike fear into the hearts of people and Pokémon.
  • Expressive Skull: Despite that its head is a skull, Wenskulox's face is still able to contort like that of a normal face to an extent.
  • Horn Attack: Wenskulox learns several moves that involve the use of its large horns, such as Poison Jab, Horn Leech, Megahorn, and Horn Drill.
  • Lack of Empathy: Wenskulox is considered to be a Pokémon that is completely lacking any compassion and doesn't care about others.
  • Life Drain: Wenskulox learns Horn Leech and can know Drain Punch and Dream Eater by TM and Technical Record.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Wenskulox has awesome Attack alongside great HP, solid defenses, and very great Speed.
  • Man Bites Man: Wenskulox gets Bite and Crunch by levelling, can know the elemental fangs by TM, and Psychic Fangs by Technical Disk.
  • Olympus Mons: It's a Mythical Pokémon that is based on the wendigo.
  • One-Hit Kill: Wenskulox's final learned move is Horn Drill.
  • Poison Is Evil: It's a Poison-type Pokémon that is cruel and sadistic and has a history of tormenting both people and Pokémon.
  • Poisonous Person: It's a Poison-type Pokémon.
  • Power Nullifier: While it already has an immunity to Electric-type attacks, Wenskulox's ability of Shadow Body also makes it immune to Psychic-type attacks.
  • Recurring Element: It's another Mythical Pokémon that is received through an event.
  • Secret Art: Wenskulox has three of these:
    • Its signature move is Black Poison, a Poison-type attack that calculates damage as if it were Dark-type and has a chance to poison the opponent.
    • Its signature Z-Move of Shadow Plague is basically a stronger version of Black Poison that also triggers Wenskulox's Z-Form.
    • Its signature ability of Shadow Body adds the Dark-type to it defensively, which adds a weakness to Light, but also resistances to Ghost and Dark and an immunity to Psychic (which would otherwise be a weakness).
  • Secret Character: Wenskulox happens to be a Pokémon that can only be obtained through an event.
  • Skull for a Head: Wenskulox has a head that is a terrifying-looking skull.
  • Super Mode: Wenskulox is currently the only Mythical Pokémon to have a Z-Form.
  • Wendigo: It's obviously a Pokémon take on this creature.

     Arroautom and Spearutom

NOTE: Arroautom and Spearutom are introduced in Pokémon Aqua-Turq Oceanic Lands.

Known as the Construct Duo, Arroautom and Spearutom are two Legendary Pokémon that were said to have been created by Unisothena. Arroautom is a teal blue-color Flying/Rock-type mechanical bird known as "the Goddess' Bow". Powered by steam and heat, it carries a giant bow in its talons that it fires huge arrows from, and blue plasma said to be as hot as the sun shoots out of its stone wings. Spearutom is a teal green-color Fairy/Rock-type mechanical flower known as "the Goddess' Spear". With giant petals that are actually organic, a giant spear capable of piercing anything rests in the top of its body, and its large, long vines are able to move buildings.

Revealed in the Ancient Islands part of Oceanic Lands, Arroautom and Spearutom are both components in Unisothena's Divine Forms, with both of them attaching to her back and her gaining either Arroautom's bow of Spearutom's spear to use.

  • Action Initiative: Arroautom learns Air Cannon, a special-based Flying-type Quick Attack.
  • Always Accurate Attack: Spearutom learns both Disarming Voice and Magical Leaf.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Arroautom's signature move of Arrow of Avem bypasses any stat changes on the opponent while Spearutom's signature move of Spear of Flos ignores the opponent's ability.
  • Blow You Away: Arroautom is primarily Flying-type.
  • Cold Iron: Due to its typing, Spearutom has a double weakness to Steel.
  • Confusion Fu:
    • Arroautom can know damaging Rock-, Flying-, Fire-, Electric-, Steel-, Ground-, Crystal-, Fighting-, Ghost-, Light-, Dark-, Psychic-, Bug-, Chemical-, and Normal-type moves.
    • Spearutom can know damaging Rock-, Fairy-, Grass-, Water-, Steel-, Electric-, Ground-, Crystal-, Fighting-, Dark-, Psychic-, Light-, and Normal-type moves.
  • Climax Boss: Both Arroautom and Spearutom are fought on Flovem Summit at the end of the Key Sanctuary storyline.
  • Combining Mecha: Both Arroautom and Spearutom are able to attach to Unisothena's back in order for her to assume her Divine Arrow and Divine Spear forms.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Both of them are Rock-type.
  • Dual Boss: During the climax of the Key Sanctuary plot, you and Synda end up fighting both Arroautom and Spearutom at the same time. Before the battle, you're asked to choose one of the two to focus on, with that one being the only one you can catch (with Synda catching the other).
  • Gemstone Assault: Arroautom learns the move Geode Flash by level, and both it and Spearutom can know that move alongside Power Gem, Diamond Burst, and Crystal Crush by other means.
  • Green Thumb: Spearutom learns a few Grass-type moves by levelling and can know several more by TM and its derivatives. In addition, its signature move Spear of Flos and Aqua Flower calculate damage as if they were Grass-type.
  • Javelin Thrower: Spearutom embodies this, with it having aspects of a spear in its design and having a large spear embedded in it that it can hold in its vines, its title being "the Goddess' Spear". Further reflecting this, its Secret Art Spear of Flos involves it launching its spear at the opponent.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Arroautom has great HP and Speed alongside awesome Defense and average Attack, Special Attack, and Special Defense, with its Athenian ability doubling its Special Attack stat.
  • Making a Splash: Spearutom learns Aqua Flower, a Water-type move that calculates damage as if it were a Grass-type move, while Arroautom learns Steam Burn, a Fire-type move that calculates damage as if it were a Water-type move.
  • Mechanical Lifeforms: Both Arroautom and Spearutom are stone mechanical creations said to have been built by Unisothena.
  • Mighty Glacier: Spearutom has great HP and Defense alongside awesome Special Defense and average Attack, Special Attack, and Speed, with its Pure Power ability doubling its Attack stat.
  • Olympus Mons: They're a pair of Legendary Pokémon that are connected to Unisothena.
  • Organic Technology: Spearutom happens to be a mechanical construct that has giant organic petals and vines growing from its body.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: Spearutom is primarily Fairy-type, although it's more of a flower.
  • Petal Power: Spearutom is a large flower-shaped construct whose petals are actually organic. Befitting this, it learns the moves Flower Shield, Aqua Flower, Petal Blizzard, and Petal Dance.
  • Playing with Fire: Arroautom learns a few Fire-type moves by levelling and can know several more by TM and its derivatives. In addition, its signature move Arrow of Avem calculates damage as if it were Fire-type.

     Unisothena

NOTE: Unisothena is introduced in Pokémon Aqua-Turq Oceanic Lands.

An elegant figure made of marble found in the Aquatic Kingdom, Unisothena is a Cosmic/Normal-type Legendary Pokémon said to be the guardian of the surface. She's told in legends to be the reincarnation of a goddess that was appointed to the surface sometime after Lantiquas sank. When humans came to what remained of Lantiquas, Unisothena appeared to them and helped them establish a civilization on the surface. She possesses all knowledge of Lantiquas and its history, from prehistory to the present. Unisothena is also said to have created two mechanical constructs; Arroautom and Spearutom in order to aid her.

In the Ancient Islands part of Oceanic Lands, through using the Aviary Bow and Fairy Spear, Unisothena can combine with Arroautom or Spearutom in order to become Divine Arrow or Divine Spear Unisothena. As Divine Arrow Unisothena, she is able to utilize the Goddess' Bow with incredible power and accuracy, and uses Arroautom's wings, which burn with plasma that is as hot as a hundred suns, to fly at incredible speeds. As Divine Spear Unisothena, she uses the Goddess' Spear with unparalleled power and efficiency, and was once said to have used Spearutom's vines to pull the Jungle Island out of the sea.

  • Achilles' Heel: Divine Spear Unisothena has a double Weakness to Crystal-type attacks.
  • Always Accurate Attack: She learns the Fighting-type Aura Sphere by levelling.
  • Ambiguous Syntax: While Unisothena is said to have created Arroautom and Spearutom, whether she had created them while she was still a goddess or at some point after she was reborn in her current form is never elaborated upon.
  • Barrier Change Boss: Inverted. Unisothena learns the move Guard Trick, which swaps the Defense and Special Defense stats of the opponent.
  • Blow You Away: Divine Arrow Unisothena is Flying-type.
  • Combining Mecha: Downplayed. Unisothena's Divine forms involve attaching either Arroautom or Spearutom to her back and controlling them with either the Aviary Bow or Flower Spear.
  • Confusion Fu: Unisothena can know damaging moves of every type but Flying, Poison, Dragon, and Chemical. Divine Arrow Unisothena can know damaging moves of every type but Poison (but can still know Toxic).
  • Death or Glory Attack: Her final learned move is the Normal-type Double-Edge.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Unisothena has a body that is made of marble.
  • Encyclopedic Knowledge: Unisothena knows everything about Lantiquas and has knowledge of all of its history.
  • Flight: Divine Arrow Unisothena is capable of this thanks to being able to utilize Arroautom's wings, being able to fly at incredibly high speeds.
  • Floating Limbs: Unisothena's hands appear large and seem to detach from her body.
  • Gemstone Assault: Unisothena gets Power Gem by levelling and can know several more Crystal-type moves by TM and similar means.
  • Herd-Hitting Attack: She learns Spatial Pulse, which while normally restricted to one target, hits all adjacent opponents at higher power if it missed or was blocked the previous turn.
  • Jack of All Stats: Normal Unisothena stats are pretty much this, although her HP and defenses are higher than her offenses and Speed.
  • Javelin Thrower: Divine Spear Unisothena is this, as she has a flower Pokémon designed after a spear mounted on her back, carries a giant flower-like spear in her right hand, and has a signature move where she launches that spear at the opponent.

  • Light Is Good: Unisothena has a marble body that's pure white, which reflects her good-natured status as a guardian for Lantiquas' surface.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Divine Arrow Unisothena is this with her high HP, massive Defense, and incredible Speed, combined with Athenian giving her a colossal Special Attack stat!
  • Living Statue: Unisothena has the appearance of a marble statue. In the "trailer" for Pokémon Aqua-Turq Oceanic Lands, the player character mistakes her for a statue until she begins to move.
  • Magic Knight: Normal Unisothena's Attack and Special Attack are both at 95, meaning she's able to operate on both ends of the physical/special spectrum.
  • The Master: Given that she's said to have created the two of them, Unisothena is pretty much this to Arroautom and Spearutom.
  • Meaningful Name: Unisothena's name is derived from "unison", which indicates its connection with Arroautom and Spearutom and ability to work together with each of them, and "Athena", the Greek goddess of wisdom, befitting Unisothena being said to be a goddess.
  • Mighty Glacier: Divine Spear Unisothena is this with her high HP, incredible Defense, and even higher Special Defense, combined with Pure Power giving her a colossal Attack stat!

  • Olympus Mons: She's a Legendary Pokémon that is said to be the guardian of the surface as well as the reincarnation of a goddess.
  • One-Hit Kill: Divine Arrow Unisothena has this story-wise. It's said that when a meteor was falling towards Lantiquas, she flew to the edge of space and destroyed it with a single arrow.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: While Divine Spear Unisothena is Fairy-type, she's more of a marble goddess statue combined with a flower-based construct.
  • Physical Goddess: Unisothena is this due to the fact that she's said to be a goddess that was reborn as a Legendary Pokémon.
  • Power Nullifier: Her ability of Clear Body prevents any of her stats from being lowered by the opponent. In addition, her normal form's Normal-typing grants her immunity to Ghost-type attacks, her Divine Arrow form's Flying-type immunity to Ground-type attacks, and her Divine Spear form's Fairy-type immunity to Dragon-type attacks.
  • Psychic Powers: Unisothena gets three non-damaging Psychic-type moves by levelling and can know many more by other means.
  • Recurring Element: Unisothena is this to Calyrex, both of them Legendary Pokémon introduced in DLC expansions, both of them having had some position of power (goddess and king, respectively), and both of them having two other Legendary Pokémon linked to them. This is emphasized even more come the Ancient Islands with both of them having stronger forms where they combine in a way with the Legendary Pokémon they oversee.
  • Secret Art: Unisothena's two Divine forms gain these, with Divine Arrow Unisothena getting Arroautom's signature move of Arrow of Avem, and Divine Spear Unisothena getting Spearutom's signature move of Spear of Flos.

  • Status Buff: Unisothena gets three such moves by levelling; Rock Polish for Speed, Cosmic Power for Defense and Special Defense, and Planet Alignment for all stats.

  • Super Mode: Starting in the Ancient Islands, Unisothena gains two more powerful forms where she uses the Aviary Bow or Fairy Spear to combine with either Arroautom (Divine Arrow) or Spearutom (Divine Spear). She gains their type, ability and moves, including whatever their signature move is.
  • Super-Strength: Divine Spear Unisothena's vines have this aspect, as there is a tale of when the Jungle Island began sinking into the sea, she used these vines in order to lift it back out.
  • Time Master: Downplayed. She learns Day Rotation, which swaps the time of day between day and night, by levelling.
  • When the Planets Align: Unisothena learns Planet Alignment, which sharply raises all of her stats for one turn.

Before Lantiquas sank, Ralts and their higher stages resided on high landmasses in the region, away from the sun. After the region sank, these lands became next to the sea, exposing them to constant sunlight, which over the generations caused these Pokémon to adapt to the sun, becoming Psychic/Light-type. Lantiquan Ralts' body glows depending on how it's feeling, with it glowing brightest when it's happy, Lantiquan Kirlia's horns glow brightly during the dark, allowing it and others to see, and Lantiquan Gardevoir does a dance to praise the sun, leading Wachipi Style Oricorio in such dances.

In Lantiquas, there exists a branch of the Slakoth family that was once more prominent during a bygone prehistoric area. When this era ended, these Slakoth died out, with the ones in the Ancient Islands being the last of their kind. Lantiquan Slakoth are Fighting/Grass-type Pokémon that are known to eat a large variety of fruit, eating so much that they become lazy, so much that if one were to steal their fruit, they won't even try to stop them or take it back.

Lantiquan Vigoroth are just as wild as their normal counterparts, being influenced by the prehistoric flora around them. They are known to search for whatever fruit they can get their hands on, remaining active from the instant the sun rises to the instant the sun sets. Lantiquan Slaking are extremely lazy due to all the fruit they eat, only moving where there's no more fruit within their reach. Lantiquan Sableye goes on to become a Pokémon called Sablenvy, with has black crystals along its limbs and body. It can transfer the dark energy its own crystals produce into other crystals.      Tropero and Tropius (Lantiquan)

NOTE: Tropero and Lantiquan Tropius are introduced in Pokémon Aqua-Turq Oceanic Lands.

In the Ancient Islands, due to the absence of bananas, Tropius instead resorted to eating extremely hot peppers, which caused its body to change and for ultra hot peppers to start growing on its chin, making it a Fire/Flying-type Pokémon. The peppers growing on it are so hot that they glow a bright red and eating them is fatal. Unexpectedly, Lantiquan Tropius produces unique offspring in the form of Tropero, whose wings are less developed but have less-hot peppers growing on them. By building up heat by flapping its wings, it can roast these peppers.

In Lantiquas, the spirits that would normally bound themselves to swords to become Honedge instead became bound to tridents, which made them Ghost/Water-type Pokémon. Lantiquan Honedge's points are razor sharp and can dent rock. It eventually becomes Lantiquan Doublade, which can move through water with ease, and then Lantiquan Aegislash, who is said to have been wielded by every Old Lantiquan king.

  • Action Initiative: Like their normal counterparts, Lantiquan Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash learn Shadow Sneak.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: The line consists of tridents possessed by ghosts.
  • Barrier Warrior: They learn Water Shield, can know Light Screen via TM, and like their normal brethren, get Shadow Fence as an Egg Move.
  • Confusion Fu: Lantiquan Aegislash can know damaging Ghost-, Water-, Poison-, Bug-, Fighting-, Dark-, Rock-, Steel-, Ice-, Flying-, Psychic-, Ground-, Electric-, Crystal-, and Normal-type moves.
  • Death or Glory Attack: Lantiquan Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash learn the Water-type Aqua Crush with Lantiquan Aegislash also learning Head Smash.
  • Defend Command: They get Quick Guard, which protects against increased priority moves, as an Egg Move, and like its Kalosian counterpart, Lantiquan Aegislash gets King's Shield.
  • Glass Cannon: Like normal Blade Form Aegislash, Lantiquan Point Form Aegislash has enormous Attack and Special Attack, but poor everything else.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: The family can know several moves that imply this, such as Poison Jab and Smart Strike, with Lantiquan Aegislash also being able to know Head Smash, Megahorn and its signature move of Oceanic Trident.
  • Magic Knight: Just like Kalosian Aegislash, Lantiquan Aegislash's Attack and Special Attack are the same as well as massive, meaning it can wield strong physical and special moves.
  • Making a Splash: Lantiquan Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash are Water-type.
  • Mighty Glacier: Lantiquan Doublade is a variation, having great Attack and massive Special Defense at the cost of poor Speed and everything else.
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: They're ghosts possessing tridents.
  • Poisonous Person: They learn Poison Jab by levelling.
  • Prongs of Poseidon: In Lantiquas, rather than swords, Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash are tridents, with Lantiquan Aegislash based on tridents said to have been wielded by Poseidon and Neptune as well as Aquaman's tridents.
  • Secret Art:
    • Like Kalosian Aegislash, Lantiquan Aegislash is the only other Pokémon to learn King's Shield and have the Stance Change ability.
    • Lantiquan Aegislash is the only Pokémon to learn Oceanic Trident, a strong physical Water-type move that calculates damage using the opponent's Special Defense stat.
  • Stance System: Like Kalosian Aegislash, Lantiquan Aegislash has two forms, in this case called Point Form and Shield Form, with the ability to switch between the two using King's Shield and an attacking move respectively.
  • Stone Wall: Like normal Shield Form Aegislash, Lantiquan Shield Form Aegislash has enormous Defense and Special Defense, but poor everything else.
  • Underground Monkey: Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash in Lantiquas are animate tridents instead of animate swords.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: They learn Pursuit like their normal forms.

Oricorio (Mau'u Style, Gorgona Style, Yuki Style, and Wachipi Style)

In Lantiquas, Oricorio takes on four new forms different from those found in Alola. By drinking Green Nectar, it becomes the Grass/Flying Mau'u Style, based on a hula dancer, and tells stories with its mesmerizing dances. By drinking Blue Nectar, it becomes the Water/Flying Gorgona Style, based on a mermaid, where it dances enchant sailors in its direction and control the water itself. By drinking Teal Nectar, it becomes the Ice/Flying Yuki Style, based on a yuki onna, with its dances said to summon snowstorms during the winter solstice. By drinking Orange Nectar, it becomes the Light/Flying Wachipi Style, based on a Sioux sun dancer, and performs a dance to honor the sun during the summer solstice.

  • Achilles' Heel: Mau'u Style Oricorio is 4x weak to Ice-type attacks; Gorgona Style Oricorio is 4x weak to Electric-type attacks; and Yuki Style Oricorio is 4x weak to Rock-type attacks.

    • Yuki is Japanese for "snow", referencing the yuki onna.
    • Wachipi is taken from the Lakota language.
  • Braids, Beads and Buckskins: Wachipi Style Oricorio is based off of a Lakota, or Sioux, sun dancer.
  • Dance Battler: Just like its Alolan forms, Oricorio's Lantiquan forms are known for using dance-based moves.

  • Light 'em Up: Wachipi Style Oricorio is Light-type.
  • Making a Splash: Gorgona Style Oricorio is Water-type.

  • Underground Monkey: Oricorio in Lantiquas took on a different set of forms than those of its Alolan brethren.
  • Yuki Onna: Yuki Style Oricorio is based off of the yuki onna of Japanese folklore.

Protagonists & Rivals

     Synda Sinclair

A teenage girl that is very rude and haughty, Synda Sinclair serves as the game's rival. Being from an affluent family, she has always lived in the shadow of her equally rude and haughty mother Kait, who like her daughter, only cares about herself. Synda considers herself better than others, especially the player character, and seeks to prove such, and also wants to outdo her mother, who has never done anything nice for her. Synda decides to take on the Gym Challenge to prove she's a superior Trainer and also takes part in the Lantiquas Expedition. However, her arrogance towards others could lead her down a dark path…

Tropes that apply to Synda:

  • Abusive Parents: Synda's mother, Kait, is stated to only care about herself and prior to arranging Synda to go on the expedition to Ancient Lantiquas later in the game, never did anything nice for her daughter.
  • Alpha Bitch: This is Synda's personality in a nutshell, with her being very rude and obnoxious towards most others, but especially the player character.
  • Always Someone Better: The player character is this to her, which eventually causes her to join up with Team Prismatic and later establish Team Chromatic.
  • Breaking Old Trends: Synda is the first main rival in the SFA-Verse not to be a nice person (although Ricard was ambitious and Lili was a Tsundere, they never truly reached Jerkass levels), instead being a total bitch.
  • Diabolical Mastermind: She becomes this as leader of Team Chromatic, although she's not actually the one that comes up with the organization's plan.
  • Disappeared Dad: Synda's father is never mentioned once at any point in the game.
  • Dragon Ascendant: In a way during the postgame. After Khrysim disappears and Team Prismatic is finished, Synda creates her own villain team that she is the leader of.
  • Driven by Envy: It's constantly losing to you and disproving that she's better than you that ultimately causes Synda to become part of Team Prismatic. This is also reflected in her having Sablenvy from the moment she joins Team Prismatic, as it represents her own envy.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Synda's introduction in the game involves her barging into Prof. Cedar's lab after you've chosen your starter, pushing you aside, saying she gets to go first and picks up a starter before you, and telling you to stay out her way as she leaves.
  • Evil Costume Switch: After becoming part of Team Prismatic, she starts wearing a pink color outfit similar to those in the organization. She switches to another one once she founds Team Chromatic.
  • Half-Breed Discrimination: After discovering from Khrysim that the player character is half-Old Lantiquan, Synda refers to them as a half-breed freak.
  • Hate Sink: Synda is not a pleasant character in the slightest, that's for sure.
  • Improbable Age: Synda is still only a teenager, yet during the postgame she's able to found her own villain team which she is the leader of.
  • In the Blood: It's been stated that Synda's haughty personality doesn't come from her upbringing, but as a result of mother Kait having a similar haughty personality.
  • Lack of Empathy: She lacks compassion for those around her and only sees them with contempt.
  • Mommy Issues: Synda does not have a good relationship with her mother, who is stated to have never done anything nice for her.
  • Pokémon Types:
  • Rage Breaking Point: After being defeated by you in the City of Vacuo, Synda loses it majorly and goes as far as to push you to the ground, saying that she hopes she never sees you again. This is likely the point where she decides to take up Team Prismatic's offer to join them.
  • Rainbow Motif: Amongst all her Pokémon combined, Synda uses at least one Pokémon for each color of the rainbow; red (Paclava line), orange (Flyrm line), yellow (Lumaxias and Pinecrable), green (Ivyake line and Pinecancer); teal (Limequa and Rapiefin lines); blue (Dolphice line), indigo (Lantiquan Sableye line), violet (Cardakeet line), and pink (Dracerie & Arcanadra). This also corresponds with Team Prismatic's color motif after she joins them.
  • Recurring Boss: Synda is fought more times in the game than any other character.
  • Recurring Element: She's the game's main rival who gets one of the starter Pokémon you didn't choose.
  • Rich Bitch: Synda is from an affluent family, and she is definitely not a nice person.
  • The Rival: She is this to the player character.
  • Rival Turned Evil: Late during the game, she joins Team Prismatic with the hopes of finally outdoing you as well as finally being more prominent than her mother. She later establishes her own evil team in Team Chromatic.
  • Start My Own: In the postgame, after Team Prismatic's defeat, Synda decided to found her own organization, which she named Team Chromatic.
  • Super Mode: Synda uses three of these over the course of the game; Mega Evolution with Sablenvy, Gigantamax with her starter Pokémon, and Z-Morph with Parrambit.
  • Teens Are Monsters: Despite her age, Synda causes trouble in the various Kingdoms of Lantiquas after founding Team Chromatic, including occupying the capital of Aquadine and terrorizing locale.
  • Unwitting Pawn: She ends up as this to Ruu and Cinder, who joined Team Chromatic and gave her the idea to obtain Crystaris, not knowing they were planning on taking it for themselves.

It turns out that Khrysim is an Old Lantiquan and the younger brother of Old Lantiquas' current king Iquan XXVIII, and was exiled from Old Lantiquas for desiring to use their might and technology to bring an end to the surface world. Cut off from his people, Khrysim founded Team Prismatic using humans he could trust and set his plan into motion. His ultimate goal is to access King Lantin's chamber and take control of Staldrlyon, the crystal dragon that decimated Ancient Lantiquas, and use it to bring about the Crystal Death and destroy the surface world, then raise Lantiquas from the ocean to dominate it with himself as its new king.

  • Last Words: As King Lantin's chamber collapses after you've defeated Stadrlyon, all Khrysim says is "I regret nothing", without doing anything else.
  • No, Mister Bond, I Expect You To Dine: When you encounter Khrysim aboard the Helixalus, he's in the middle of having a meal in the dining room and asks you to join him. It's also during this scene where you find out about him being Old Lantiquan and the reveal of Synda having become part of Team Prismatic.

  • Rainbow Motif: By the time he's fought at the end of the game, Khrysim has one Pokémon for each color of the rainbow; Ventagma (orange), Plasmatine (yellow), shiny Prismanus (red), Aurorapede (violet), Pinecancer (green), and Mechonaken or Orgaiathan (blue).
