Darth Wiki / Dangancord: Sky High Havoc

Go To

Dangancord: Sky High Havoc is a Danganronpa fan-roleplay run on Discord by a user named Moon.

18 online friends wake up on floor 164 of a skyscraper, not remembering how they got there. Soon, the mysterious Monobasket reveals — they're trapped in a killing game.

The RP eventually quietly drifted to a halt around chapter 3, but was rebooted as Dangancord: Rebooted.

The RP contains examples of:

  • Against My Religion: Ana won't eat meat due to unspecified religious restrictions, which is a problem when Monobasket outright orders everyone to. Robin mentions that Ana's religion recognizes their headmate Sylvi as an obligate carnivorenote  and would allow her to eat meat in Ana's place, which fact is currently useless to them because Sylvi is in the middle of a Heroic BSoD.
  • Alter-Ego Acting: Everyone is playing a fictionalized version of themselves.
  • Body Horror: The effects of the cheese virus in the second chapter not only makes its victims think everything tastes like cheese, it also makes holes in their body - as Heather and E find out the hard way.
  • Cluster Bleep-Bomb: Haze unleashes a profanity-laden tirade when Moon says they should die even though they didn't even do the crime:
Haze: "ALL OF US ARE GOING TO (BEEP)-ING DIE, YOU (BEEP)-ING (BEEP). (BEEP) YOUR (BEEP)-ING EDGINESS, MOON! He starts loosing breath IF YOU WONT HELP US FIND THE (BEEP)-ING MURDERER, SIT THE (BEEP) DOWN, SHUT THE (BEEP) UP, AND LET US DO IT WITHOUT YOU!
  • Cool Mask: The Tempests wear a black facemask. The RP takes place in a timeline where the COVID-19 Pandemic has already ended, so it's not for that reason — Sylvi outright says she wears it because she thinks it's cute.
  • Cute Kitten: The Tempests' "Ultimate Cat Cafe Operator Office" is filled with adorable kitties that everyone loves. Even Pika, who is hilariously allergic.
  • Exact Words: Early on, Ana reassures Pika and Heather that "you can trust we won't drop that we're really the Ultimate Infiltrator anticlimactically at the last moment, like we did in DDR2". The implication that this is because they aren't the Ultimate Infiltrator is deliberately misleading, but they indeed do not drop a Reveal anticlimactically at the last moment.
  • Explosive Leash: Every player is fitted with an explosive collar that will detonate if they break the game's rules, with the exception of Mazz and Sunny, who instead have mysterious bracelets that presumably serve a similar function, though this has not been confirmed.
  • Foreshadowing: Heather, Rayz, Libre, Volk, and Aka find a laundry basket with normal clothes on the meeting room's table. Later on, Clay, Fran, Moon, E, Heather, and Zanreo hear a voice from the back of the same room. specifically the laundry basket, as it's revealed that it's actually Monobasket, the host of the game.
  • Genre Savvy: Moon, Pika, and the Tempests have all played enough Danganronpa Self-Insert fangames to recognize the structure of them and figure out that they're in one almost immediately upon waking up.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: During the last part of the first chapter and most of the second, Haze outright considers himself useless. Libre telling him that he wouldn't care much if he died didn't help.
  • Killer Rabbit: Monobasket is a laundry basket, which in no way stops it from being as deadly as any other killing game host.
  • Life-or-Limb Decision: Discussed in regards to the first motive, a mysterious bracelet with a timer counting down 96 hours. One of the more common theories is that it'll inject a deadly poison when the timer hits 0, and the Tempests suggest that people who believe that might cut off their hand to avoid it.
  • Malicious Misnaming: Many characters misname Monobasket spitefully with various names - ranging from Monobitch, Monojackass, Monowhore, to Bombobasket.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Among the Tempests, Robin has a distinctly more feminine aesthetic than Sylvi. He has a whole conversation (mostly by himself) about wanting an excuse to wear a sparkly dress and be eye candy, while Sylvi describes herself as "slobcore" and doesn't even own any dresses.
  • Meat-O-Vision: While extremely high, Fran thinks that the Tempests look like a granola bar.
  • Mean Character, Nice Actor: Discordronpa canonically took place as a roleplay in this continuity, and almost everyone who was a Jerkass in that game is much nicer "in person".
  • Nightmare Face: During his chat with Libre in chapter 2's epilogue, Haze makes quite a few taken from To Do List, with the Slasher Smile he makes when he accuses Libre of not caring driving Libre to tears.
Libre (in the groupchat): HOW IS HAZE MAKING THESE HORRIFIC EXPRESSIONS AAAA
  • Paranoia Gambit: Discussed in regards to the first motive, a bracelet with a mysterious timer counting down 96 hours. Monobasket makes a point of not specifying what will happen when the timer hits 0, leading some to suggest that it might not do anything at all.
  • Rage Breaking Point:
    • During the second chapter's trial, Libre tries to keep himself from yelling as more and more suspicions, contradictions, and arguments over the possibility of Jay being Coolkid's killer builds up. Whilst he has bouts of rage at times, the real breaking point where he goes feral occurs when Jay lies to the others on who infected him, due to it involving Libre.
Jay: I had no choice, Libre infected me. It felt like it was... The motivation.
Rayz: Oh!? Damn so you were infected.
      Haze: …He did?
Jay: A sign to get back to writing.
Libre: what in the fuck what in the fuck what in the fuck THIS IS HOW YOU- I DID NOT INFECT YOU! I WAS NEVER INFECTED!!!!
    • Haze undergoes a similar one in the aftermath of said trial, especially after Libre says he feels apathetic.
Libre: [tearing up] …why…why am i so dead inside…why don't i feel the pain even amongst the ones my family members share…
      Haze: So you admit it?
      Libre: …yes. [sobbing]
      Haze: Why?
Libre: I… DUNNO! MAYBE YEARS OF BEING ADDICTED TO GAMES AND ENTERTAINMENT HAVE ROTTED MY BRAIN IN THIS FASHION!
Haze: Oh, so you blame THAT?!
  • Refuge in Audacity: Retroactively, the Tempests' anticlimactic last-second Reveal in Discordronpa 2 of being the Ultimate Infiltrator was an "audacious coverup bluff" intended to draw suspicion away from them really being the Ultimate Infiltrator in the "real life" of this game.
  • Show Within a Show: Other killing game roleplays (such as Discordronpa and The Murderverse) are established to exist in the roleplay as their own fictional killing game roleplays.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Spiritual Successor: By the same GM as Discordronpa, and approximately the same premise — a Fangan full of self-inserts with a comical-yet-deadly host. The main difference is leaving behind the Paramount Peak setting and continuity for a new one.
  • "World's Best" Character: Comes with the territory, as usual. Everyone has an Ultimate skill, and it plays into the plot.
    • Aka-Chan, Ultimate Traditional Artist
    • Artsy Geek, Ultimate Cover Singer
    • Clayton, Ultimate Graphic Designer
    • Coolkid, Ultimate Investigative Journalist
    • Dean "Pika", Ultimate Photo Editor
    • E, Ultimate Indecisive/Talentless
    • Elliot, Ultimate Softball Player
    • Flora "Neon-Gecko", Ultimate Florist
    • Fran, Ultimate Rapper
    • Haze, Ultimate Idea Creator
    • Heather, Ultimate Princess
    • Jay "YeetYootJay", Ultimate Scriptwriter
    • Libre, Ultimate Singer
    • Mazz, Ultimate Violinist
    • Moon Yuri, Ultimate ???
    • Nationale "Volk" Volksarmee, Ultimate Airsofter
    • Rayz CD, Ultimate Soothsayer
    • Sunny, Ultimate Hikikomori
    • The Tempests, Ultimate Cat Cafe Operator
    • Zanreo, Ultimate Bootlegger
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: What Libre's counterarguments to Haze claiming himself to be useless amounts to. He explains to the latter on how he ultimately still has some degree of rationality regarding his outburst in the second trial compared to him, and outright calls him "0% pathetic" at one point when Haze claims that he's so pathetic that Libre has to fake sympathy in the event he dies.
