Dangan Ronpa: Arcadia is a RP group started in late August/early September 2014. It's a different spin on the visual novel/anime/media series Danganronpa, set in the same type of universe, where 'elite students', known as the Super High School Levels, attend Hope's Peak Academy, a prestigious school in Japan. The group is currently in its first game, Arcadia: Abattoir.

Characters:

     Arcadia: Abattoir

Akemi 'AOI♥HANA' Sekai

SHSL Magical Girl

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akemi_2698.png
First scouted for voice acting after hosting a highly successful school-wide radio show at her high school in Osaka, Akemi Sekai broke out into the business by voicing the role of Kotone Kohana on the wildly popular magical girl anime, Mahou Shoujo Kuroshiro Melody. Her most recognized role, however, is as AOI♥HANA, one of the main characters of the sensational “live action magical individual drama-comedy smash”, Mahou Prism Kokoro Quartet. She shot into stardom after being cast in the daring new show that took audiences by storm, and she and her fellow cast members became some of the most recognized stars in Japan. Akemi took her role as a magical girl to the next level; even after stepping off set, she continued to play the part of AOI♥HANA in her daily life, presenting herself as the magical girl idol of many children and teens across the country, often roaming the streets of Osaka to greet fans, sign autographs, and brighten days.
  • Magical Girl: What else did you expect?
  • Mini Dress Of Power: To complete the "Magical Girl" look.
  • Skewed Priorities: Her first thought is to ascertain that she's a 2012 meme, not a 2004 meme as Monobear called them all.
    • Later on, she calls Monobear to ask if she can pet him. She, of course, is swiftly turned down.

Alphonse Yoshioka

SHSL Combat Expert

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/al_6185.png
To become a master of combat is to know your opponent, and to be confident enough in your own movements to not only assure yourself you can win, but to know that you can. Having the skills and confidence needed to own the title of expert- that’s what Alphonse Yoshioka has achieved through years of hard work and dedication to his passion. Through fighting in MMA tournaments to instructing others, one on one, he’s earned his rank as a combat expert. When in Japan for one particular event (in which time he did attend a public high school, as he was to be there for quite some time), Alphonse was contacted by Hope’s Peak Academy, and was given the chance of a lifetime- to join their school. And he accepted. (Of course.)

Emiko Akiyama

SHSL Rhythm Gamer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/emiko_1989.png
A girl known all over the gaming community thanks to her extreme success in rhythm games, Emiko Akiyama is the current champion of the leaderboards of most rhythm games found in arcades, going by the 3-letter alias “EM☆”. She is truly a star, they say - a girl to be desired, the gaming community says; however, not a lot is known about her - she prefers to keep her identity hidden, so she constantly hides from the crowd by wearing disguises, hoodies, anything so her appearance isn’t acknowledged. Emiko is truly gifted with rhythm, winning the KONAMI Arcade Championship, playing Beatmania and winning with 100,000,000,000 points with all over her songs, getting perfect in all of them. She then joined moderating teams of rhythm gaming communities, and was constantly praised by everyone - asked to stream herself playing, doing things - yet, she refused to. This led to various rumours about her, most of which you most likely have heard. “EM☆ is a cheater! She hacks!” however…who can really trust the gaming community’s rumors? Ah, the perks of being a “gamer girl”.

Hachiro Hisakawa

SHSL J-Drama Actor

As a child, Hachiro Hisakawa was a very prominent child actor, one with a reputation for acting with ability typically only found in actors much older than him. He was talented and easy to recognize, often featured in high profile films with many of his performances getting critical acclaim. However, at the age of 12, while doing filming for a very anticipated horror film, the usually very kind Hachi completely blew up, screaming and ranting to the actors and director of the film. A few weeks later, it was announced his parents had pulled him from the acting industry for an undetermined amount of time. Then, in the most unexpected of places, Hachi returned. At age 15, the former child actor appeared in a seishun J-drama, acting as the love interest of the main character. The media was thrilled, and Hachi’s charisma and charm was more than enough to get most of Japan to forget the sudden and controversial reason for Hachi’s hiatus from acting. Throughout the next two years, Hachi became a very popular face in J-drama, and with his shows getting consistently high ratings and a large, ever-growing fanbase, it’s no mystery why Hachi was given the title SHSL J-Drama actor.

Hiroto Shibata

SHSL Roller Skater

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hir_4659.png
Wiping out competition in a match of roller hockey is nothing for the renown speedster, Hiroto Shibata. All of the credit goes to an elementary school obsession with the local roller rink, which ultimately became the driving force for his swift rise to the top of the ranks. The founding of a roller club at his high-school was the start of his winning streak; after earning his team high rank titles in multiple tournaments across Japan, the club became renowned in the roller sport world. While Hiroto undoubtedly showed promise as both an above-average competitor and as the captain of an award-winning team, he received suspicious gazes from multiple judges during the first few months of competing. After a harsh fight that disqualified both him and another player in a minor competition, he’s made his truculent attitude known to the public. Although his team-mates may gossip about his aggressive demeanor, they defend him tooth and nail and claim him to be a top-notch roller skater whose leadership is irreplaceable. Regardless of the controversy, Hiroto holds the fastest speed records for his age group and plans to make it to the Roller Hockey Championships as an adult player.

Izumi Iwazaru

SHSL Calligrapher

They say that the ultimate mark of talent in calligraphy is to be able to produce beautiful work without letting your mind so much as realize that you are even writing in the first place. If this is the case, then the ever-distrait and insistently taciturn Izumi Iwazaru is an excellent candidate for the best high schooler in his trade. Appearing publicly only two years prior to his admission into Hope’s Peak, a thirteen year old Izumi first made his debut in Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on January 2nd to participate in a national kakizome contest, the first calligraphy writing of the year. His loose, cursive-style writing of the phrase 会者定離 drew attention from the judges, who were impressed by his focused, yet calm and relaxed approach to calligraphy — a trait rarely seen in middle school students. But in spite of the fact that placing as a winner of the kakizome contest would have afforded him a modest cash prize and media coverage to boot, Izumi suddenly vanished before the awards ceremony took place and was not pictured in the final broadcast of the featured artists. His prize was reportedly later mailed to his home address. How Hope’s Peak managed to track him down or convince him to attend school in the first place remains uncertain, though it was said that he accepted the invitation without much resistance..

Maemi Oshiro

SHSL Glass Artist

Imagine a room filled with different colors that all blend in with each other perfectly. Making the room seem gorgeous if it has just the right interior or stand out from others. That is what Maemi dreams of doing with her works gracing homes and shops. As her talent started from just being a hobby to a profession that she’s very passionate about. Putting as much effort and details into her works to make them pop. Making them look blend in perfectly in the work’s environment. Her hard work paid off as she soon started spreading her creations in shops in her neighborhood, painting the glass windows. Then reaching high peaks, such as art galleries and sold online in her family’s own business. Those three combined with her stunning pieces all made her name well-known in a matter of months! Her fame is what got her noticed by Hope’s Peak. And she doesn’t regret a single bit about it. She is the first culprit of Arcadia: Abattoir, and is caught and executed for the murder of Naomi Sayer.

Remi Shijou

SHSL Skiptracer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/remi_icon_5368.png
Employed by debt collectors, attorneys, bounty hunters, and repossession agents alike, most are surprised to see the seemingly innocent looking child stroll into their offices. One look at the pink contact lens with the cross-hair and they know exactly who she was. It was Remi Shijou, renowned for her haughty attitude and endless confidence in her own sleuthing abilities. With a sharp tongue – and heeled boots to match – it was her own burning desire to single-handedly make the most of her ‘assisting’ talent that had Hope’s Peak interested in seeing to what heights she could take her talent.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She uses a facade of kindness to fool others into believing she is non-threatening.

Rie Kussaku

SHSL Archaeologist

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rie_9079.png

When she isn’t unearthing curious artifacts out on the field, she’s discussing new theories and witty anecdotes over tea with her fellow colleagues, and has made a reputation for herself of being quite the delight to work with for a girl of her age- not to mention one of very few teens even professionally interested in the subject. Upon returning to her home country of Japan following years of traveling, she was quickly discovered after using her family’s newly found affluence to get a foot in the door at a few local research labs. It was only natural that she was delighted to receive an invitation to Hope’s Peak Academy, and she hopes to graduate and pursue a Doctorate in the not-too-distant future. She is the second victim, killed via exsanguination and found in the elevator with a note pinned to her chest reading "I'M OK".

Saki Shimoda

SHSL Vocaloid Producer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/she_likes_death_6747.png
Vocaloid is serious business, and if you don’t believe it...just go tell Saki Shimoda what you think of her talent. She’s been known for causing quite a fright in her own home town, scaring other students and teachers with ideas and plans to kill people or thinking about subjects that would most likely cause adults to squirm in discomfort. Writing these ideas down or blurting them out...wasn’t exactly working to well. She felt like she had to spread the word, make her ideas praised and welcomed. That was when she discovered vocaloid, mainly Machigerita-P, whose songs filled with horror and disgusting macre were works of art and loved by listeners. Raising up as much money as she could from Holidays, allowences and other small odd jobs, Saki was able to buy a copy of the vocaloid software and a voicebank and began to work on songs centered around what circles throughout her mind all day. They were hits almost instantly, getting thousands of views on Nico Nico Douga and even a few of her songs made it into the Nico Hall Of Fame.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yuuma_chou_7384.png

Suffering from persistent narcolepsy, during her early school years she spent most of her time sleeping and not enough studying. Her rather unsuccessful beginnings were suddenly cut short with a research paper on the REM cycle, which shot her into the world of Oneirology. Since then, she’s published several papers on sleep cycles, her most well-known work being an incredibly in-depth study on brain activity and subconscious thought during the REM stage- she’s an expert on dreams. This study is what got her name out into the world, her papers often referenced in further studies on sleep. Yuuma’s research is highly lauded for the personal touch she puts on it, something absent in many modern scientific journals.
