Thomas Vinterberg (born 19 May 1969) is a Danish director and screenwriter. He is an occasional collaborator of fellow Danish director Lars von Trier, with whom he started the Dogme '95 film movement. Vinterberg has, however, also frequently ventured outside the art-house scene, having made plenty of more mainstream drama and dramedy films which have seen critical acclaim and commercial success, both in his native Denmark and internationally.
