Sony Imagesoft was an American video game publisher and division of Sony. It was founded in 1989 as CSG Imagesoft, until changing their name to Sony Imagesoft in 1991. The company primarily published licensed games and ports during its existence. The company started out publishing games for Nintendo consoles alone, until a later partnership with Sega caused it to publish many games exclusive to Sega consoles.
Sony Imagesoft existed until 1995, when Sony restructured its video game divisions due to the incoming release of the PlayStation, causing much of Sony Imagesoft to be merged with Sony Interactive Entertainment America. The video game business subsequently became known as Sony Interactive Studios America, before being renamed 989 Studios.
