Sandy Mitchell is the pen-name of Alex Michael Stewart (born 25 July 1958), a British SF writer best known for his Warhammer 40,000 Ciaphas Cain novels. He also wrote the Dark Heresy novels Scourge the Heretic and Innocence Proves Nothing, featuring an inquisitorial team known as the "Carolus Angelae" put together by Inquisitor Carolus Finurbi, as well as the Blood On The Reik trilogy set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe.
