Kristen Joy Schaal (born January 24, 1978 in Longmont, Colorado) is an American comedian, actor, writer, and voice artist.

While she's probably best known as Mabel Pines on Gravity Falls and Louise Belcher on Bob's Burgers, Schaal has had roles in projects as diverse as Flight of the Conchords, Shrek Forever After, Get Him to the Greek, Toy Story 3, Despicable Me 2, 30 Rock, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, and BoJack Horseman. She was also a contributor on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and a writer/consultant for South Park. She stars opposite Will Forte in The Last Man on Earth. She even got to play God in an episode of Axe Cop.

Her physical appearance, mostly Cloudcuckoolander type persona and high-pitched voice make her the 21st century counterpart to George Burns' zany comedy partner and wife Gracie Allen. The comparison even carries over to Gravity Falls, where her character acted as the comic foil to Jason Ritter's straight man character, much like Allen was foil to Burns' straight man during their old double acts.

Schaal is also known for the web series Penelope Princess of Pets, in which she stars and co-writes with frequent collaborator Kurt Braunohler. A backdoor pilot for a Penelope TV series aired on the British anthology show Comedy Lab, and Schaal and Braunohler also appeared as their Penelope characters in the video for The New Pornographers' "Muitiny, I Promise You".

She married writer-producer Rich Blomquist in 2012, and they have one daughter together.

No relation to fellow voice actor Wendy Schaal (American Dad!).
