Kaori Yuki is a manga author who writes mainly dark Shoujo. Expect a lot of Nightmare Fuel and depraved romance in her works. She's also well known for her highly detailed and elaborate art.

- Anti-Hero: Her "heroes" aren't exactly saints. The majority of them have some type of psychological issue or chip on their shoulder.
- Black-and-Gray Morality: Her villains are pretty vile and the heroes are only better by comparison.
- Darker and Edgier: Kaori's manga are much darker than the average shoujo, to the point they could almost pass as seinen.
- Dysfunction Junction: Mental illness and insanity seems to be a common trend.
