Jack Duripper is a YouTube Pooper of today, who began editing in 2016. His sources for YTPs are mainly anime series, cartoons, movies and video games, and his style consists of pop culture references, with a few in-jokes towards the source material he is currently using. The Overwatch and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure YTPs contributed to his rise in popularity.
On October 24th, 2019, Jack uploaded his first YTP collaboration, called Diamond Is Unbreakable Retold. His second, Golden Wind Retold, was posted on April 5th, 2021. His third and most recent collab was based on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean and was split into two "batches" that released during the Spring of 2023.
This creator's works show examples of...
- Adaptational Alternate Ending: "Starduck Crusaders 2" features two:
- The first is before the Crusaders storm DIO's Cairo mansion. The moment Joseph calls DIO a coward, he decides to take up their challenge and steps outside...forgetting its still daylight out. He promptly burns to death. And then cut to an audience of Funny Valentines, arguing about it.
- The second happens during Joseph's attempted escape from DIO. Instead of suffering a Disney Death to DIO, he suddenly uses an ability called "Hermit Purple: Za Warudo" to immobilise DIO. Then, he uses "Hermit Purple and Hamon" to destroy DIO's Stand, which destroys DIO as well by somehow splitting him in half. This trope is even lampshaded when a caption appears afterwards, stating that "It happened in one of the timelines".
- Berserk Button: Never, ever waste wine in front of William A. Zeppeli. If even one drop of that vino goes to waste, he's gonna fucking kill you. The button gets hit two times over the course of The Phantom Menacing, and the first time (Jonathan seeing a living Wang Chan and dropping his glass in shock) pisses Zeppeli off enough to rise from the dead!
- Call-Forward: This often happens in his JoJo YTPs.
- "Bottle Tendency"'s opening had Yoshikage Kira replacing the Red Stone of Aja, which had multiple, blue, ethereal hands stretching up to try to grab it. This hints at Kira's final fate in the source material: being Dragged Off to Hell by multiple hands from the dead.
- From that same YTP, there is a joke made with Esidisi's name being similar to AC/DC. The chorus of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" plays over this comparison, cutting to Joseph having Funny Valentine's hairstyle while saying this:Joseph: Wait a second, you can't do that! (Activates his Stand, which is actually named after that aforementioned song) That's my trick!
- When cornered by Wamuu, Joseph considers using Stand powernote to defeat him. It's lampshaded by an appearance from Mace Windu informing Joseph that it's not time yet, to the latter's disappointment.
- Epic Fail:
- DIO decides to confront the Stardust Crusaders directly, all because Joseph called him a coward for hiding in his building. He opens the door slowly, takes a step out... immediately combusting and screaming in agony due to the sun being up at that time.
- When Jotaro plays dead in front of DIO by using Star Platinum to hold his heart in place, DIO decides to decapitate Jotaro's head with a street sign. So, Jotaro attempts to revive himself by pumping his heart with Star Platinum. But doing it too much leads to his heart pumping all over the place, before flickering and dying.
- Fake-Out Fade-Out: This happens twice in his JoJo's Bizarre Adventure YTPs.
- In "Starduck Crusaders 2". After DIO grabs the Idiot Ball by walking into the sunlight to battle the Stardust Crusaders, it cuts to the words "the end thanks for watching".We then see three Funny Valentines from alternate dimensions and their common Stand, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, bickering over whether that was the real ending of the video.
- "Golden Cringe ep.1" has Koichi Hirose attempting to peacefully stop Giorno Giovanna from driving away with his stolen luggage by using his Stand, Echoes Act 3, to make the car heavier and stop moving. Unfortunately, that Stand does not have the required secondary powers to keep the car stable while being affected by increased weight, which compresses everything inside, including Giorno. The next scene is the words "Parte 5 Fine", while that character's orchestral theme comes to a crescendo.
- Mundane Solution:
- In Bottle Tendency, how does Joseph beat Esidisi when the mighty Pillar Man is spewing his "Hot Blood" everywhere? By just running around until Esidisi runs dry, shrivels up and falls over, rendered useless ("I'm a bit thin at the moment"). Even JoJo finds it embarrassing.
- Thrice by Jotaro in the "Starduck Crusaders" duology.
- When stuck in a ton of pipes, and face to face with Forever, Jotaro decides to forgo his typical short range shtick and use a long range attack (Star Finger) to incapacitate the orangutan.
- As Jean Pierre Polnareff is about to bet his soul in a poker game with Daniel J. D'Arby, Jotaro instantly puts a hand on Polnareff's shoulder, and lets out a Rapid-Fire "No!". The Stardust Crusaders group walks away from Daniel, who can only beg them not to ignore him.
- To destroy DIO once and for all, Jotaro decides to reenact a Showdown at High Noon. Instead of drawing a gun, however, he takes out a small UV flashlight. Since vampires are weak to sunlight, this instantly blows DIO to Ludicrous Gibs.
- Muhammad Avdol has become this ever since the "Golden Cringe" series.
- In "ep. 2". Giorno already went through the difficult test of keeping Polpo's lighter on for a whole day. After completing it, he asks Avdol if he had any difficulty in that same test, who denies it and credits his fire-controlling Stand, Magician's Red.
- A Freeze-Frame Bonus in "ep. 3" has him use his Stand again to vaporize Leone Abbacchio's offered cup of tea, which was actually piss. This is in comparison to Giorno, who nonchalantly drunk the piss and absorbed it through his tooth, which was imbued with Golden Experience's life-giving ability and transformed into a jellyfish.
- The fight with Ghiaccio in "ep. 5" is quickly resolved thanks to Avdol.
- Punny Name: Say the name slowly and you'll realise that it references the most infamous serial killer, Jack the Ripper. Who also happened to be a Phantom Blood minor villain.
- Reference Overdosed: This is essentially a staple of his, happening in all of his YTPs.
- Running Gag: As a transition in his JoJo YTPs, King Crimson appears with The Hand's sound effect, a not-so-subtle nod at the former's time-skipping ability.
- The news reporter with the bug-eyed, chiseled face from Episode 2 of Phantom Blood will sometimes pop up during Jack's JoJo YTPs.
- Another running gag in his JoJo YTPs (which extend to the collabs and even non-JJBA related YTPs) has Joseph Joestar screaming "KAKYOIN!" whenever a person is gut punched.
- Less commonly used is Joseph's dub line of "Hmm, probably not!" from the Justice arc of Stardust Crusaders, whenever someone encounters a situation that is too good to be true (even if they're proven wrong).
- Spared by the Adaptation: Avdol had his canon fate of being consumed by Vanilla Ice's Stand, Cream, leaving only his arms in "Starduck Crusaders 2". However, it hinted at his survival when Avdol responded with a Big "YES!" after Polnareff expressed his disbelief over the former's death. Cue "Golden Cringe ep.1" and "ep. 2", where an armless Avdol eventually escapes from one of Bruno Bucciarati's "Sticky Fingers" zippers placed on Giorno. He plays a supporting role from here on out, and even when he gets fatally impaled by Diavolo in "The End of Golden Cringe", his soul ends up transferred to a frog thanks to Chariot Requiem.
- Take That!:
- "Golden Cringe ep.3" has Bucciarati shouting out his Stand name in the English dub as "Zipper Man" instead of "Sticky Fingers", due to copyright issues. It then cuts to someone crying and complaining about their burning ears.
- "The End of Golden Cringe" has Giorno and Bucciarati running Diavolo's fingerprints through a criminal database, with some of the possible matches including Andrew Tate, Donald Trump, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Alec Baldwin, O. J. Simpson and Ezra Miller.
- Vulgar Humor: He slips this in every YTP. For instance, in "JoJo's Bazaar Adventure Episode 1", Dio Brando says this as he is about to unleash a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown on Jonathan Joestar."I'll cuck JoJo. I'll beat him off in his own home. I shall masturbate in his own home! NOW AND ALWAYS!"
