Griptonite Games was an American video game developer. The studio was founded in 1993 in Seattle, Washington by Steve Ettinger, as the Seattle division of Realtime Associates. At the time, Realtime Seattle mostly developed handheld games.

In 1999 the studio was acquired by Amaze Entertainment and was re-branded Griptonite Games. The focus was still on handheld titles, as well as the occasional console or plug-and-play TV video game.

Between 2005 and July 2008, the Griptonite name was inactive. On November 14, 2006 Amaze Entertainment was acquired by Foundation 9 Entertainment and became a subsidiary of the umbrella group.

On July 29, 2009, F 9 E merged Amaze Entertainment and Griptonite Games into a single studio, using the name of the latter.

On August 2, 2011, Griptonite Games was purchased by Glu Mobile. Griptonite's final game was released in 2012.
