Gavin Richards, (3 July 1946), is a British actor best known for playing Captain Bertorelli in 'Allo 'Allo! and Terry Raymond in EastEnders.

After previously working for David Croft in three episodes of Hi-de-Hi!, Richards joined the cast of 'Allo 'Allo! with Sue Hodge in Series 4 to fill the void left after Sam Kelly and Francesca Gonshaw left the series. Richards played the lazy, egotistical, cowardly, and womanising Captain Bertorelli until the end of Series 6, following which the role went to Roger Kitter, who lasted one series before being Put on a Bus. During the series' run, he also starred in the controversial Hardwicke House.

In 1996, he was cast as Terry Raymond in EastEnders and became a full-time character the following year. Terry's storylines first focused on his alcoholism and damaged relationship with his children, before he began a relationship with Irene Hills. After Irene was Killed Off for Real, Richards grew unhappy with his role, claiming he had not been given enough "juicy storylines", and so he left in 2002.

Aside from 'Allo 'Allo! and EastEnders, he has made many other appearances on TV during his forty-year career. He has had roles in The Bill, Inspector Morse, Minder, Between the Lines (1992), A Touch of Frost, Coronation Street, Lovejoy, and Pie in the Sky. He has also appeared in a few films, most notably in The Movie of Whoops Apocalypse.

He now lives in New Zealand, where he directs, produces, and writes plays.
