Fritz William Weaver (January 19, 1926 – November 26, 2016) was an American actor who had a decades-long career in theatre, film, and television. His best-known works include Fail Safe, Marathon Man, Holocaust and Creepshow.
Before acting he served in the Civilian Public Service during World War II due to being a conscientious objector. He was married twice, to Sylvia Short (with whom he had two children) and actress Rochelle Oliver. He was also the brother-in-law of Jack Dodson, best-known for playing Howard Sprague on The Andy Griffith Show.
