Sanford “Ford” Rainey (August 8. 1908 – July 25, 2005) was an American actor. He was best known for Two Rode Together, The Sand Pebbles, and Halloween II (1981).
Rainey worked as a logger and an oil tanker crewman, and also served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was married twice, to actress Mary Lou Taylor and to Sheila Hayden, having three children with the latter. He died at the age of 96 after multiple strokes. Several years after his death, son Robert Rainey—a chiropractor—was murdered in Los Angeles. The case has never been solved.
