Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures (2022) is a Star Wars comic book limited series published by Dark Horse Comics. It is written by Daniel José Older as part of the second phase of The High Republic multimedia project.

It follows young Sav Malagan as she decides to break from The Jedi Order and join Maz Kanada’s group of pirates when they come into conflict with a group of Dark Side users called Dank Graks.

Tropes in this comic include:

  • Chekhov's Gunman: While first infiltrating the Dank Graks, Sav has a brief flashback to Master Tera Sinube’s lesson and expresses that she wishes he was her master instead of Kaktorf. In the last issue he is revealed to have impersonated Lavalox and takes on the role as Sav’s master as her actual master decides to take a break from the Order.
  • Formerly Fit: Subverted. Dexter Jexster is seemingly in better shape than we see him in Attack of the Clones. However, the third issue shows that he is wearing a suit that makes him look thinner than he really is.
  • Impersonation-Exclusive Character: The last issue reveals that the Lavalox Verzen we see is actually Jedi Master Tera Sinube in disguise. According to him, he has put the real Lavalox, who is a woman, in a mental institution and decided to spy on the Dank Graks.
  • Not Hyperbole: One of the members of Maz’s crew, Coromont Vizzle, writes songs about how the law is constantly on his back. It turns out that his parole officer, Rado, is literally riding on his back to keep a eye on him. However, Rado doesn’t report him because he is afraid of being associated with Coromont’s crimes.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Sav's plan to infiltrate the Dank Graks involves using a random piece of junk as a hat, going by the name “Bazrip Ratht”, saying that she works for the Graf family, and claiming that her lightsabers are from a Jedi she killed. Naturally they don’t fall for it, though apparently only Saya Keem realizes she is not a boy, despite her making no attempt to hide her gender.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Maz’s pirate crew is compromised of Sav Malagan (a rebellious Jedi Padawan who dreams of being a pirate), Dexter Jesster (a prospector full of stories), Therm Scissorpunch (a neurotic crab man whose infamous reputation is exaggerated because of his name), Alak and Quiet Shan (a former Cyborg mercenary who is in an off and on romance with a cop and his teenage apprentice who apparently speaks only when she is about to kill someone, and both are former child assassin cultists), Abadoo (a weird alien mechanic on Maz’s ship) and Coromont Vizzle (a singing pirate with an incompetent parole officer literally on his back).
  • Simultaneous Arcs: The second half of the comic takes place at the same time as The Battle of Jedha audio drama and main phase two High Republic comic and has Maz’s pirates and Dank Graks participate in the Battle of Jedha.
  • Sweet Polly Oliver: Unintentionally, but when Sav infiltrates the Dank Graks, they (except Saya) mistake her for a boy. Even when it is revealed that they knew she was a Jedi from the start, their leader Arkik still thinks she is a boy.
Sav: Is it really a lie if you let people who go around making assumptions remain in their ignorance?
