Smoke Weed, See the Future is an independent Urban Fantasy comic created by Pat Shand and published via his Space Between Entertainment. It is set in the same universe as Shand's first major series, Destiny, NY, and follows the adventures of one of Logan McBride's ex-girlfriends. It was funded via Kickstarter.

Taylor Hart is a Seer, cursed with the ability to see anyone's future just by looking at them. It's murder on her social life, and wreaks all kinds of havoc on her sex life, and thus she began smoking pot to try and dull her abilities. As most Seers use water as a medium to focus their powers, Taylor gets the idea to use Seer-charged water to grow hydroponic pot, which has the side-effect of granting temporary precognition to anyone who smokes it. The series follows her attempts to monetize this discovery while also trying to develop some sort of social life.

This series contains examples of:

  • First-Episode Spoiler: The first issue ends with Walt having a vision of Hart Farms burning to the ground.
  • Granola Girl: The second volume introduces Sarah Cornwallis, a vegan baker who sets up shop next door to Hart Farms, and who got dumped by her previous girlfriend because of her many dietary restrictions.
  • Hollywood Dateless: Taylor is a reasonably attractive young woman, but dating is hard for her because unless she gets baked, her powers enable her to see the future of almost any relationship she gets into.
  • Loyal Animal Companion: Taylor's cat, Pimento, is never too far away from her.
  • Previously Overlooked Paramour: In the short story "The Dating Game", Taylor deals with a neurotic young woman, Emily, who keeps bringing her dates to Hart Farms in the hopes of seeing if any of them end up marrying her. Inevitably, the pot consistently shows her that the relationships don't last. Finally, Emily uses the pot to look at her own future, and has a vision of herself with Taylor. They end up in a relationship.
  • Ridiculously High Relationship Standards: One short story involves precognitive Taylor dealing with a client, Emily, who keeps dragging her dates to Taylor's house so that Taylor can determine if any of the relationships will last; invariably, Emily ends up dumping all of them because Taylor's visions show the entire progression of the relationship, including any dramas or infidelities, and Emily can't bear the thought of spending her time on an imperfect relationship.
  • Seers: Taylor Hart is a seer, able to see the future of anyone she looks at long enough, a power that she's only able to control through constant pot use. She first developed seer weed after trying to develop a strain of weed that would inhibit her powers enough so that she could have a somewhat normal life without having to get baked all the time.
  • You Need to Get Laid: In "The Dating Game", after noting that Taylor is spending an inordinate amount of time with a lovesick client, her friends Walt and Cory suggest that Taylor really needs to get laid.
