Justice League is a 2016 ongoing comic book series published by DC Comics as part of the DC Rebirth initiative. The series was initially written by Bryan Hitch with art by Tony S. Daniel, however, they would leave the series, with Christopher Priest taking over.

Once again featuring the Big Seven; however, the New 52 Superman was replaced by his pre-Flashpoint counterpart while Hal Jordan was replaced by dual Earth Green Lanterns Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz. After Superman Reborn resolved Superman's situation, the Rebirth Superman returned to the League.

Justice League (2016) provides examples of:

  • Alternate Company Equivalent: Justice League: Rebirth #1. An insect-like Eldritch Abomination called a Reaper who is "harvesting" humans on Earth, and the vanguard of thousands of said creatures...say what? Is an Intercompany Crossover with Commander Shepard on the way? Many are noting the shocking similarity, and also noting that Bryan Hitch worked on The Christmas Invasion episode of Doctor Who as well.
  • Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: Christopher Priest's run introduced a character called the Fan. As one of the technicians who helped build the Justice League's Watchtower HQ, the Fan had managed to spy on the team and uncover many of their secrets, leading to a situation that made it impossible to simply send him to prison. Batman and Aquaman debated what to do with him, with the latter arguing that killing him would be the only way to ensure more people didn't get hurt, while the former argued that heroes never kill. Ultimately, they never got to finish their debate, as Deathstroke ended up shooting the Fan to death, thus taking care of the problem for them.
  • Bad Future: Justice League has one where the titular team has been killed off, with the kids of the current Justice League travelling back to prevent it.
  • Badass Boast:
    • Wonder Woman's boast in the first issue is simple but tremendously effective:
Wonder Woman: We're the Justice League. Run.
    • Before the Leaguers go inside the Reaper, Batman says "We're going to find its brain, and negotiate the terms of its surrender."
  • Bulungi: Christopher Priest's run has the league crashing in this kind of country, running afoul of the Red Lion (an evil Black Panther counterpart) in the process.
  • The Call Knows Where You Live: In the first issue, Clark has reservations over joining the Justice League. Lois invokes the trope by saying that at some point, the League will need Superman, and Clark won't be able to put off membership for long.
  • Ship Tease: Jessica Cruz with Barry Allen. In a possible future, they have three kids.
