First published in 2018 as a two-part miniseries, Infinity Wars: Ghost Panther was written by Jed MacKay detailing the origins of the Infinity Warps version of T'Challa, AKA Ghost Panther. Ghost Panther, like the rest of Infinity Warps, is part of Infinity Wars (2018).

For the solo comics of the other Warp World Defenders, see Arachknight, Iron Hammer, Soldier Supreme, and Weapon Hex.

Tropes featured in Ghost Panther:

  • Adaptational Badass: Everyone. In-Universe. Each Composite Character has the combined powers of whichever characters were merged to create them.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parent: After hearing Misty Brooks refer to the tussle with some vampires as a date, T'Chaka seems intrigued by the idea. T'Challa is not.
  • Arc Words: All of T'Challa's stories use the phrase "a place called Wakanda... that has/will always been/be free."
  • Back from the Dead: T'Challa is resurrected by Jericho after a fatal accident.
  • Badass Biker: T'Challa is half Ghost Rider, so this is a given.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: T'Challa is stuck with a vengeful god which wants to punish and kill (and eat) those T'Challa fights, and has to keep in constant control in case Zarathos gets lose.
  • Composite Character: Basically all of the characters in the comic fall under this trope. They include Ghost Panther (Ghost Rider and Black Panther), Jericho Simpson/Brother Crash (Brother Voodoo and Crash Simpson), Shuriri (Shuri and Ironheart), M'Bakshulla the White (Man-Ape and M'Shulla), and Erik Killraven (Erik Killmonger and Killraven). Zarathos doesn't seem to be a warp between Zarathos and any character in specific. However, she is established to be Bast's half-sister, with Sekhmet serving a similar role in the regular universe.
  • Covered in Scars: Erik Killraven has the scarification of the MCU Killmonger, and wears an outfit that shows this off.
  • Deal with the Devil: Like Ghost Rider, Ghost Panther makes a deal with Zarathos.
  • First-Episode Resurrection: T'Challa dies and is resurrected in the first issue.
  • Panthera Awesome: T'Chaka sticks around as a giant fiery tiger, whom T'Challa can summon.
  • Pocket Dimension: The universe of the Infinity Warps exists within Soul World in the soul stone.
  • Wreathed in Flames: Comes with being half Ghost Rider.
