Black Hops is a superhero comic series published by Iconic Comics. It is written by Mark Pellegrini and illustrated by Tim Lim, who together are known as NINJAINK.

USA GI was once an ordinary bunny until he was irradiated in the Hiroshima bombing and obtained a bevy of superpowers. After being adopted by an American soldier and given rigorous training, the bunny battled America's enemies as part of the elite unit 'Black Hops.' Decades passed before the (ageless) bunny finally retired to live a peaceful life with the soldier's granddaughter Penelope. Unfortunately, the rise of new threats means that USA GI will have to get back into action, and Black Hops as a whole will once again have to fight to save America and its people from those who would do them harm.

Black Hops contains the following tropes:

  • The Ageless: USA GI stopped aging after being irradiated.
  • Animal Talk: USA GI can only gesture at humans but can communicate fluently with other animals.
  • Badass Adorable: Despite looking like a cuddly bunny, USA GI can take on trained, armed soldiers and win.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: The elite human soldiers in Black Hops, including Millius, are there just to back up the even stronger animal warriors like USA GI.
  • Combat Pragmatist: USA GI is this, using tactics like tricking enemies into attacking each other and guiding enemies into launching attacks that will damage their own base.
  • Cutlass Between the Teeth: Since USA GI has no hands, when he uses bladed weapons, he usually grips the hilt in his teeth to fight.
  • Enemy Compassion: USA GI feels empathy for the tiger Eun as she drags herself over to her already-dead master before dying herself.
  • It's Raining Men: USA GI demonstrates the ability to parachute out of a plane and land safely.
  • Killer Rabbit: USA GI is a literal example; he's a soldier who can slaughter his way through enemy forces to carry out his missions.
  • Our Cryptids Are More Mysterious: USA GI has to fight a variety of cryptids, including bioengineered ones designed by supervillains.
