Zig and Bernie

    In General
  • Afraid of Needles: Zig and Bernie are both scared of needles, as "A Mysterious Guest" shows.
  • All Animals Are Dogs:
    • Briefly played straight in "The Challenger" in which Zig (who's a hyena, which isn't a dog) makes a dog-like sound. He invokes it in "Daddy Little Doggy" when he feigns both aspects of being a Canine Companion.
    • In "Loony Cruise", Bernie (a hermit crab, a non-canine) briefly yaps like a dog.
  • Big Guy, Little Guy: Zig is the Big Guy while Bernie is the Little Guy, as the former is a hyena while the latter is a hermit crab (a smaller species).
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: As elders in "The Cloud", both Zig and Bernie sport large eyebrows.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic:
    • Bernie is a Ridiculously Cute Critter with a high-pitched voice.
    • Zig was cute as a cub, and his voice was even more high-pitched than it is now.
  • Entitled Bastard: A subverted example. Zig and Bernie (especially the former) aren't above mocking Sharko trying to capture Marina. However, in "A Mysterious Guest" they outright ask him to help them. However, it's soon revealed to be part of a ploy.
  • Extreme Omnivore: More commonly Zig, but in "High-Wired" we seem them eating tires (apparently out of desperation).
  • Failure Is the Only Option:
    • Don't expect any of Zig's plots, especially those involving eating Marina, to ever completely work.
    • The Adventures of Bernie involves Bernie trying to get back to the island from the original show, with his attempts failing each time.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: "Bosom Buddies" reveals Zig and Bernie were adopted at young age together, but they only bonded after Zig went through several attempts at eating things far, far, bigger than him with Bernie trying to help in the schemes or saving him from harm.
  • Happily Adopted: Both of them were adopted by a female ape. They also both clearly love her and are happy with her being their adoptive mother.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: They're close friends who are both males.
  • Interspecies Adoption: A hermit crab and a hyena who were adopted by an ape.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: Zig goes through ice and fire, but the next second he looks like if nothing happened. The same also applies to Bernie (although he does better luck in this regard), but it's even more notable because he's a tiny mollusk.
  • Kiddie Kid: It's suggested in "Teen Rebels" that they could act like Bratty Half-Pints when they were teenagers.
  • Moment Killer: You can thank them for ruining some romantic moments between Sharko and Marina.
  • Parental Abandonment: No, not their adoptive mother. However, even during flashbacks to when they were children, we never see their biological parents.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse:
    • As Bionic Zig, Zig is fairly small compared to much of the main castnote , but he's also one dangerous Lightning Bruiser with Super-Strength.
    • Bernie is shown to be stronger than what he looks being able to carry Zig and sometimes even Sharko together. Then again Rule of Funny is in full effect, so whenever he tries to physically fight Sharko it ends horribly for him.
  • Psycho Pink:
    • Zigzagged with Zig; he's an antagonistic hyena and his eyes are often shown to be pink. Also, he accidentally slips on a white and pink bikini in "Lost in the Jungle".
    • Sorta with Bernie; while helping Zig with one of his plots to abduct and eat Marina, he wears a pinkish ambulence-thingy atop of his shell.
  • Real Men Hate Affection: Likely Played for Laughs in "Teen Rebels". When their adoptive mother kisses Zig and Bernie, both of guys were clearly annoyed. It's justified as this happened when they were teenagers. Also, her kisses are very messy.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Bernie is a cute little hermit crab. Also, flashbacks reveal Zig looked rather precious when he was a cub.
  • Siblings in Crime: As "Bosom Buddies" reveals, they are adoptive brothers. Also, for starters, they stole a car in one season three episode.
  • Silent Snarker: Some of their expressions suggest they'd be Deadpan Snarkers if they could speak. For instance, while Bernie has a pretty high tolerance for Zig's plans no matter how stupid they are or how badly they end up, he can't help but sigh at his friend many times.
  • Stalker without a Crush: They've spied on Marina and Sharko but clearly don't have crushes on either of them.
  • Token Adult:
  • White Gloves:
    • Zig is an animated hyena who's worn white gloves at least once, like in "The Fall".
    • Bernie, a cartoon hermit crab, briefly wears white gloves in "Bionic Zig".
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?:
    • As shown in "The Elevator Trip", Zig is terrified of being trapped in a dark elevator, which is Played for Laughs.
    • One episode of The Adventures of Bernie reveals Bernie is scared of clowns. He gets over this later, though.

    Bernie

Bernie the Hermit Crab

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bandicam_2019_10_02_17_42_44_257.png
Bernie ready to build yet another contraption to help Zig.
The Only Sane Man...or at least the closest you'll get in a show like this. He's Zig's best friend since childhood and often acts as his sidekick. In The Adventures of Bernie, he serves as the protagonist.

Marina and Sharko

    In General
  • Childhood Friend Romance: They're in an Interspecies Romance and they were friends when they were children.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Sharko is a giant shark while Marina is a small (at least by comparison) mermaid.
  • Interspecies Romance: Marina is a mermaid, Sharko is a shark, and their relationship is shown to be romantic.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Rarely something causes Marina and Sharko to antagonize each other like in "The Moo Can", "Daddy Little Doggy", "Game, Set and Match", "Three Pronged Disaster" and "The Captain's Evening".
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Both are guilty of using this every now and then when they are trying hard to convince one another to go along something either Marina or Sharko has refused at first.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: Most of the times Marina is the one initiating the episode's adventure while Sharko follows her lead.
  • Took a Level in Kindness:
    • Season 1 Marina used to be loads more temperamental and vain, Season 2 Marina is much nicer and severely tones down her haughtiness. She also demands much less from Sharko and does a lot more things out of kindness and selflessness instead of mere self-interest.
    • Season 1 Sharko would go berserk just at the mere sight of Zig and liked beating him up too much to the point he's wistful in "Going Home" when Zig leaves the island. Season 2 and 3 Sharko still is sometimes shown to enjoy beating the tar out of Zig but does it mostly when he's up to no good, if he isn't stirring up trouble Sharko usually leaves him alone. And on rare occasions Sharko even gets along well with Zig, which would never happen in the first season.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend:
    • While rare, there are few occasions where Marina plays an active role in protecting her boyfriend Sharko from harm or something more dangerous than Zig.
    • Gender-inverted with Sharko. Lay a finger on his girlfriend Marina and he will make you regret it.

    Marina

Marina the Mermaid

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marina_s3_1.png
Marina as the Captain of the cruise ship in Season 3.
Click here to see Marina's design in Season 1.
One of the main characters of the show, a Nice Girl of a mermaid who Zig wants to eat and is Sharko's love interest. Always gets caught in whatever crazy scheme Zig has in for her, and very often start adventures of her own... Which Zig also uses as opportunities to eat her.
  • Battle Cry: Amusingly enough Marina has a very Xena-esque one.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Nice Girl she is, Marina has her limits and she can be pretty aggressive when she's upset. Especially if one disturbs her current activity one too many times, or bugs her while she's trying to sleep. Sharko's overly destructive nature also often gets her upset too, and "Castle Life" has Marina having Zig to rebuild her sand castle that was destroyed in yet another brawl with Sharko, and even before that, when Zig overstays his welcome, Marina forces him wash the dishes and bashes him with a broom when he tries to act up.
    • And then there are times Marina does notice Zig's antics like in "Sea, Surf and Fun" where she, not Sharko, beats the daylights out of Zig for ruining her surfboard, "The Master of Volcano" where she beats Zig when he tries to take her using an invisibility helmet, and "Save the Hyena" where Zig gets an earful and a severe thrashing (again no Sharko involvement) for pretending to be drowning just to get her attention.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Expect her to get jealous whenever someone makes advances on Sharko.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Apparently why Marina never notices Zig trying to fry her up or put her in his mouth. In "Veggie Zig" she does notice when someone other than Zig is trying to eat her which could imply she never perceives him as an actual threat. Granted, this did seem to surprise her.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: In Season 2 it is revealed in some episodes that she is able to scream loud enough to blow anyone away. Marina weaponrizes this in "The Song of the Sirens" in order to save Sharko and the passangers from her ship from a malicious siren.
  • Damsel in Distress: Zig-zagged; although Zig frequently tries to kidnap and devour her, Marina very rarely seems to be aware of it or concerned, even after she’s been in his mouth several times. Marina usually escapes Zig's clutches with very little effort when she actually wants to. However, there are some instances in which someone else kidnaps her and she does notice it, like "The Conquistador". Also, she does pummel him away and get back with her life.
  • Fanservice Pack: An inverted example. While still a Ms. Fanservice, Marina's chest size clearly gets toned down after the first season.
  • Friend to All Children: She's very friendly to all children and is often seeing playing with them. "Teacher's Pet" has Marina also becoming a teacher to give the children of the island classes.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Basically all sea creatures love her.
  • Genki Girl: Marina is very playful and does whatever she does with full energy.
  • Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Although she's very feminine, liking things like fashion and fitness, she's also shown to be a skilled Wrench Wench. "Best Girlfriends" episode shows that she prefers working on her car project better than doing otherwise very girly things.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Her father is a human sailor while her mother is a mermaid.
  • Hartman Hips: She's got a small waistline and large hips.
  • Hospital Hottie: One of the most recurring roles Marina is seen in is of a nurse helping anyone in need. "Nurse Marina", "Bottom's Bottom", "A Mysterious Guest", "Deafening Noise", "Atchoo!" and "Daddy Dearest" are all episodes where Marina acts as a nurse.
  • Hot Teacher: A young Ms. Fanservice who teaches a class in "Teacher's Pet".
  • Hidden Depths: While she comes across as an airheaded Brainless Beauty at first sight, Marina is shown to be very smart and not afraid of getting her hands dirty if the situation calls for it. She has also shown to be very considerate not dismissing Sharko's dream of being an artistic swimmer either.
  • Jabba Table Manners: An inversion. While Marina's normally a Nice Girl, she occasionally shows bad table manners. In "Spotless" for instance, she shoves a cake in her mouth.
  • Lethal Chef: Downplayed. Marina is bad at making drinks, she's actually pretty good at cooking food. In "Sharko and Zig on the Rocks" she tanks Zig and Sharko's drink stand business with a foul drink she brewed. In "Replicas" one of her attempts at creating a drink is bad enough to put Poseidon out of commission for almost the entire episode and another attempt creates an acid that eats through the table.
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Several episodes has Marina getting a new hobby and getting Sharko involved in it. Zig usually also butts in just to get another shot at eating her.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Is the main source of fanservice on the show, on account of being a curvaceous mermaid who shows some skin.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: Marina has been a nurse, teacher, cook, tourist guide, silkworm farmer, lifeguard, driving instructor, a ship's captain, and even a cop throughout the series.
  • Needlework Is for Old People: When she first gets turned into a senior in "The Cloud", she does some knitting.
  • Nice Girl: She's generally the nicest character on the show and likes almost everyone she meets.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: She is a mermaid who can walk on her tail fins. She's also half-human.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: When she gets turned back into a teenager in "The Cloud", she's constantly on her phone.
  • Power Incontinence: In "Three Pronged Disaster" Marina takes her grandfather's magic trident (while he's asleep) for a spin and she clearly has very little to no control over it causing a lot of trouble around the island.
  • Prone to Tears: Marina is sometimes prone to bawling her eyes out when something makes her upset, such as in "Nurse Marina", where she realized she couldn't care for Zig if he felt better, and "Volcano Turbo", where her starfish stack gets destroyed twice in a row.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: While not ugly by any means, there are episodes where Marina dresses up formally upping her natural beauty by quite a bit.
  • Supreme Chef: "Zig Top Chef" has Marina winning a cooking contest between her, Zig and Sharko (and both are great cooks in this episode). And in "Castle Life" she makes spaghetti good enough to completely fill and satisfy Zig.
  • Squee: She tends to do this often when excited or happy about something. Most noticeable when she sees Zig disguised as Santa.
  • Terrible Artist: "Hats off to the Artist" reveals her drawing skills are horrible, though she does greatly improve later.
  • Textile Work Is Feminine: Played for Laughs in "The Maze" when she knits a sweater out of Zig's tail to the hyena's bewilderment.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Marina is (most of times) completely unaware or unfazed by Zig's attempts to devour her and doesn't seem to bother even if Zig puts her inside a giant sandwich/taco/cauldron, or even if he kidnaps her.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Downplayed. Marina was friends with Zig and Bernie since they were toddlers and it's the implied reason Marina never overreacts when Zig tries to eat her, even with all of his antics Marina constantly shows compassion towards the hyena very rarely snapping at him.
  • Womanchild: She's an adult, but mostly acts like a giddy little girl.
  • Wrench Wench: She enjoys working on vehicles, and several episodes show her to be a skilled mechanic. "Daddy Cool", "Lousy Beach Drivers", "Heat Wave" and "Best Girlfriends" are episodes that showcase her prowess as mechanic.
  • You Are in Command Now: Becomes the Captain of the cruise ship in Season 3. While she dutifully respects her position in the few times it does come up, it also causes some conflicts like in "The Captain's Evening".

    Sharko

Sharko the Shark

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/301_20.png
Sharko as he appears in Season 2 onward.
Click here to see Sharko's design in Season 1.
Sharko is... well... a shark who's Marina's Violently Protective Boyfriend who can (and will) beat up anyone who tries to lay a finger on her. Therefore, he's Zig's Arch-Enemy because he nigh-constantly tries to devour her. Despite this, the two have their moments of getting along.
  • Accidental Pervert: "Foggy Day" has Sharko accidentally walk in on an old turtle lady who was taking a shower.
  • Afraid of Needles: Despite clearly being a powerhouse, "Nurse Marina" reveals Sharko is scared of needles, which shows up again in "A Mysterious Guest".
  • Anti-Hero: While he's heroic, he appears to like hurting Zig.
  • Arch-Enemy: Is the main enemy of Zig.
  • Battle Cry: Often lets a comical one out to psych himself before thrashing Zig or any unfortunate object in his way to save Marina.
  • Berserk Button: Messing with Marina is almost always a sure-fire way to make him overcome whatever is impairing him— physically or even psychologically.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Occasionally. Upon getting turned into an elder in "The Cloud" for example, Sharko gains large eyebrows.
  • Book Dumb: An implied case in "Teacher's Pet". While it could've just been a gag, Sharko also wasn't able to solve a simple addition problem.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: He has a huge soft side for Marina.
  • Butt-Monkey: He often gets the short end of the stick, though he's lucky he's not Zig. But there are a handful of episodes Sharko gets as much physical punishment, if not more, as Zig does.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Zigzagged, at least in the first season; Sharko doesn't mind it when other animals are looking at Marina. However, he otherwise gets jealous if someone tries to hit on her.
  • Destructive Saviour: Sharko's brutish way to deal with Zig often gets wherever he is completely destroyed. More often than not Marina is not amused by this.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: His name is Sharko!
  • Depending on the Writer: His ability to move outside of water in Season 1; in some episodes, he can't walk on land at all, making the island a safe zone for Zig. In other episodes, he can turn his tail into a tiny pair of legs to walk on dry ground. Later seasons have him spend much more time on land, to the point that he barely even swims anymore.
  • The Dreaded: Invoked and deconstructed by Zig in "Beach Hero"; he tricks numerous animals (including Marina) into fearing Sharko.
  • Fingerpoke Of Doom: One of Sharko's usual manners of dealing with Zig and Bernie: a finger flick with disproportional strength.
  • Foil: Is this to the titular Zig. Sharko is typically well-liked, in love with Marina, and possesses Super-Strength. Zig nevertheless is generally disliked (especially, but not only, in season one), isn't interested in Marina besides swallowing her, and is weak physically.
  • Friendly Enemy: Yes, really. If Marina is out of the picture, there are fair chances that you will actually see Zig and Sharko get along. "Mermaid Fritter" in particular has Sharko unironically trying to help and cheer up a very depressed Zig.
  • Genius Bruiser: Sharko is a fairly intelligent Lightning Bruiser and sometimes he outsmarts Zig, Toon Physics notwithstanding, before opening a can of whoopass.
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: A couple times Sharko and Zig, despite being nemeses, have enjoyed activities together. For instance, they watch a film together in "Movie Night".
  • Goofy Print Underwear: A couple times Sharko been subject to this trope, like when he wears pink underwear with hearts in "Spotless".
  • Harmful to Minors: He's got no issue attacking Zig in front of kids, as Marina and some children find out in "Operation Santa Claus".
  • Hero Antagonist: To Zig's Villain Protagonist.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: After being manipulated by Zig in "Beach Hero", all the animals on the beach are terrified of Sharko.
  • Incorrect Animal Noise: Sharko often make dog noises like growling and whimpering. It symbolizes how fiercely protective and loyal he is towards Marina.
  • Indy Ploy: Sharko has to be a quick thinker when he has to deal with Zig's stupider/clever ideas.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Sharko clearly enjoys injuring Zig and sometimes hurts him when he did nothing wrong. He also does have his nicer moments. And, if Zig or Bernie comes actually asking for help, Sharko tends to help them even without Marina's input, although he's usually distrustful of them (and more often than not rightfully so). However, the "Jerk" part is most prominent in season 1 where he is way more vicious towards Zig. Granted it's still present in later seasons, especially in "Veggie Zig"; after Zig is hypnotized into becoming a vegetarian, he also becomes too close to Marina for Sharko's liking and Sharko turns him back to his old self. Although it's implied he was experiencing a case of Happiness in Mind Control and it's clear Marina was happy with him that way. Also in "Sharko and Zig on the Rocks" when Sharko neglects his duties to flirt with Marina and Zig ends up overworked to the point he eventually goes full-on Then Let Me Be Evil, lashes out on Sharko, and ends their partnership.
  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: Gender-flipped in "Miss Beach" in which he defeats Zig while wearing a pink dress.
  • LEGO Genetics: In a couple episodes, Sharko and Zig's body parts got mixed up.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He possesses Super-Strength, can move very fast, and is quite durable.
  • A Lizard Named "Liz": A shark named Sharko.
  • Man Bites Man: He is a shark after all. Amusingly enough biting is one of the less used methods Sharko employs to deal with Zig.
  • Megaton Punch: Sharko's favorite way of dealing with Zig. Either has the Punched Across the Room effect or Squashed Flat, sometimes both. Even more amusing the that Sharko sometimes uses other things like his eyes to deliver the Megaton Punch.
  • One-Man Army: He easily defeats multiple orcas in "King Neptune's Court".
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Believe it or not Sharko has these without any of the Split Personality thing involved. Sharko's heart and brain appear every now and then and while the brain is in control, for the most part, its rational, but vulnerable to Sharko's phobias. If the heart gets in charge it will act purely on emotion, most of times focusing on Marina, but it can also get the brain to overcome the fears paralyzing Sharko.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Sharko is fond of synchronized swimming, figure skating and is a very handy cook despite his brutish looks and rough personality.
  • Retcon: In several episodes of Season 1, Sharko was shown to be unable to move on land (see Depending on the Writer above). As of Season 2 and Season 3, there have been a few episodes depicting his childhood, where he's shown to be able to get out of the ocean and walk around without any problem.
  • Roar Before Beating: Happens very, veeeery often right before Sharko starts pulverizing Zig.
  • Rocket Punch: In the more exaggerated cartoony moments Sharko has these.
  • Sadist: A heroic example; Sharko has the time of his life when harming Zig, especially (but not exclusively) in season 1.
  • Screaming Warrior: Played for Laughs; several times while he's clashing with Zig, no headphones users are safe.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: In contrast with the Screaming Warrior, whenever something that frightens Sharko show up (rats, heights or the deep jungle), or whenever Zig gets really close to eating Marina, Sharko shrieks often in a Stock Scream.
  • Selective Obliviousness: In "Sharko's Best Friend", he is incapable of noticing that his new alien friend is eating everything and everyone and point-blank refuses to listen to Zig's frantic warnings, even when the alien devours both Marina and the whole ship and grows to a colossal size. He would even have let it fly away to digest everyone if it weren't for the alien spitting out Marnina's starfish just in time.
  • Silent Snarker: More often than not Sharko reacts with a deadpan look with the weirdess surrounding him and even in a show where there is no dialogue he stands out, especially since he also has to deal with Zig's antics on what's implied to be a nigh-daily basis.
  • Super-Strength: For starters, the first episode ("Fishy Story") shows he can lift an island.
  • Threatening Shark: Averted with Marina, but played straight with Zig. Justified since Zig is often trying to eat Marina.
  • Top-Heavy Guy: Whenever he's drawn with legs, they're pretty tiny compared to the rest of his body.
  • Voices Are Mental: After swapping bodies with Zig in one episode, Sharko still "speaks" in the same voice used when he was in his original bod.
  • Word-O Name: Shark (appropriate, considering he is a shark) + O.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Sharko has a strange list of phobias that usually cripple him. Zig always make sure to milk these fears in order to eat Marina.
    • Heights is a recurring fear of Sharko. "High Wired" and "Diving Contest" has Sharko having to deal with these fears.
    • One of things that terrifies Sharko is rats. "The Invaders" episode has Zig exploiting this fear for all its worth.
    • The deep jungle of the island freaks out Sharko. Sharko has to deal with this in "Lost in the Jungle" and "A Mysterious Guest".
  • The Worf Effect: In general if something shows up and Sharko can't pummel it away it will usually be more dangerous than whatever Zig comes up with. For instance, in "A Beautiful Shell" a Tentacled Terror owns him to show how dangerous they are. Granted, it's Played for Laughs.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Flashback episodes reveal that he and Zig grew up together and used to be close friends before they met Marina; from that point on, Sharko became smitten with her and Zig obsessed with eating her, leading to the conflict that drives the show. Whenever Marina isn't involved, Zig and Sharko are shown to get along just fine.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Sharko manages to express this wordlessly with a delayed blink and/or a deep sigh. Especially when Zig is being more mischievous/bolder/stupider than usual like in "Boing! Boing!" and "Back to Civilization".

Other

    King Neptune

King Neptune

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/103_28129_7.png
A Jerkass who happens to be king of the sea in season one.

    King Poseidon

King Poseidon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/204_02.png
Marina's father in Season 2 onwards. A dotting parent wielding great powers with his trident and also a strict in-law towards Sharko. He treasures the relationship with his daughter and is fiercely protective of her, although a bit too much for Marina's liking.
  • Action Dad: "An Evil Panda" has Poseidon dealing with Hades.
  • Always Someone Better: To Sharko. He's stronger and has the power of his trident. Sharko often gets in situations where he butt heads with Poseidon, but Poseidon is always shown to be much stronger.
  • Big Badass Rig: Can summon various objects made of water, including a huge truck.
  • Character Development: In "Father-in-Law" he was rather dismissive of Sharko and beats him up when Sharko screws up. Come "Replicas" and even though Sharko accidentally had beaten Poseidon thank to another of Zig's antics, all that Poseidon does is scowl, scare and lightly zaps Sharko.
  • Continuity Snarl: He is Marina's father in Season 2, but in Season 1, it was revealed that Marina's father was a human sailor.
  • Decomposite Character: He and Neptune are two different characters.
  • Good Parents: "The Nap" shows that King Poseidon has been caring for Marina ever since she was a mischievous toddler. He's shown to be on very good terms with Marina in other episodes he appears as well.
  • Incoming Ham: Enters the scene on his throne carried by a tidal wave.
  • The Matchmaker: Attempts to be one in "Poseidon's Visit", albeit unsuccessfully.
  • Papa Wolf: You don't want to mess with his daughter Marina.
  • Prongs of Poseidon: He's Poseidon after all. Includes lightning powers and water control.
  • Shipper on Deck: He takes a while to warm up to Sharko in "Father-in-Law", but eventually accepts Marina and Sharko as a couple and lets them stay together.

    Hades

Hades

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/222_3_0.png
A wizard that lives in the volcano of the island, with a cold flame on the top of his head. He possesses many powers, artifacts and a huge crush on Marina. Unfortunately Hades terrifies Marina and is also very nasty, so the feelings aren't exactly reciprocated.
