Main Characters

    Alexander Harris

The [[Comic-Book Time perpetually eight But now Nine year old]] main character of the quest, and the reincarnation of Ganondorf.

  • The Call Knows Where You Live: Zig-zagged. Basically everyone Alex talks to knows he lives on the Hellmouth, including a number of very frightening things he'd rather not have knowing. On the other hand, most things are rather more scared of the Hellmouth than they are interested in trying to inflict terror on him, and Alex only ever has his Random Encounters while not on the Hellmouth.
  • Famed In-Story: Downplayed. In some circles, Alex is known for having won the Under 10s division of the World Tournament (and being only the third first-generation martial artist ever to manage the feat, and the first in seventy years), while a few others recognise him for having beaten Kahlua in a straight fight with an unknown magical powerup. Still others know him for his actions repairing the shrine.
  • Flash Step: The Body Flicker technique is one of the skills Alex leans on most often.
  • Golden Super Mode: Glows gold, as with all of his Power techniques.
  • Jack of All Stats: Notably averts both Squishy Wizard and Mighty Glacier, to the point of being a Lightning Bruiser. Add magic to that...
  • Mega Manning: Downplayed, in that he usually takes a fair amount of time and experience with tricks to put them together to a level where he can actually use them. He's still learned a number of skills this way, including the basis of Body Flicker, Sword Beam and others.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: Despite being tall for his age (He's been mistaken for being twelve more than once) Alex is still pretty short in the grand scheme of things.
  • Random Encounters: Whenever he's not on the Hellmouth, Alex can't go five feet without tripping over something to get him in trouble.
  • Super Mode: Maximum Power, which is a combination of every energy type Alex has access to mixed together.
  • Wrong Context Magic: Hyrulean sorcery is distinctly foreign to the majority of characters in the quest, and Alex's Power is unique to him.

    Briar

A Hyrulean Fairy Alex met one day while walking his dog. She's Navi's daughter.

  • Freak Out: On first learning that Alex was Ganondorf's reincarnation.
  • Massive Numbered Siblings: One of more than a hundred.
  • Only Sane Man: Depending on who else is in the group at the time, she can be this- usually along with Cordelia and/or Lu-sensei.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Is a natural speaker of basically every animal dialect around, as opposed to needing spells to do it. It's a fairy thing.

Sunnydale Residents

    Lu Tze
Grandmaster of the Wen School of Five Elements, Alex's teacher, and all-around badass.

  • Cool Sword: Is the guardian of a sword called the Jade Dragon. Hiding its aura is why he set up a dojo on the hellmouth in the first place.
  • Cool Old Guy: Manages to be fairly cool despite everything that goes on with Alex.
  • Old Master: Exactly how old is not clear, but he has a neice with children vaguely Alex's age and is first known to have entered the Masters Division of the World Tournament at least thirty-two years ago.
  • Only Sane Man: Doesn't just have to be this for Alex and whichever group he's with at the time, but also often for the adults.
  • Super-Speed: Can move so fast he blueshifts.

     Tony and Jessica Harris
Alex's parents.
  • Parents as People: Given that they're both Muggles dealing with Alex, they do fairly well. However, neither of them take very enthusiastically to the revelation of Alex's magic (or of the wider moonlit world) and are frequently floundering around for what to do.

    Zelda Harris
Alex's little sister.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: To Alex, bizarrely enough. Given that he looks quite a lot like a Gerudo due to his past life leaking over, this is worthy of some comment.

     Moblin
The Harris family dog.
  • Big Friendly Dog: Quite large, at least by comparison, and pretty friendly too.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: While he's never played much of a role in the quest, he was the one who first directed Alex's attention to Briar.

    Cordelia Chase
Scion of the Chase family, and one of Alex's fellow Five Elements students.
  • Adaptational Badass: Learning Supernatural Martial Arts from the age of six does that to you.
  • Curse: Has one placed on her, something that she's making an attempt to be rid of by converting to the religion of the Golden Goddesses.
  • Flash Step: Learns the Body Flicker technique alongside Alex, though she's not quite as proficient at it.
  • Only Sane Man: Often takes the role of 'normal human' in the group during the Tournament arc, mostly because she is the 'normal human' of the group.

     Larry Blaisdell
One of the other students at the School of Five Elements and Alex's friend.
  • Muggle: Notable for being the only complete Muggle in Alex's age bracket to get really significant screentime, as well as the only one in his immediate circle of friends.
  • Out of Focus: Didn't come to the tournament, and so remained offscreen the entire time.

     Amy Madison
Witch-in-training, School of Five Elements student, and Alex's friend.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: While not as competent at either as Alex, she is one.
  • The Masquerade: Notable as not having been behind one in the first place; she could see Briar right from the get-go, which is why Alex made friends with her in the first place.

Drake household and associates

    Altria Drake
A young girl with the soul of a dragon.
  • Animal Battle Aura: It takes the form of a dragon. Much like Alex's, it's probably sentient.
  • Badass Adorable: World Tournament Under Tens Division runner up; tiny little blonde girl.
  • Boss Subtitles: 'Dragon-Souled Knight-in-training'.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Ambrose's, and appears to have an entirely seperate vocabulary consisting entirely of his name.
  • Kill It with Fire: Her attempts at replicating the Sword Beam universally end up with everything being on fire.
  • Magic Knight: Her techniques all run off magic expelled as an exhaust.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Her soul is that of a dragon, giving her magic reserves greater than Alex's, as well as Instinct.
  • Reincarnation: As above, her soul was once a dragon's. More directly, she's King Arthur's reincarnation.
  • Super Mode: Pushing her Mana Burst technique all the way to maximum grants some level of this. It's enough to beat Medaka's War God mode, but fails to completely match up to Maximum Power.

     Merle Ambrose
A mischeif-making wizard who teaches Altria.

  • The Archmage: Very much. A random summoned imp identifies him as 'one of the five most potent magic-users in the mortal realm', he can cast spells that would be ninth-level for Alex pretty much offhandedly, and the ward system he installs in Alex's house is something that Alex eventually (after managing to pierce the anti-detection spells) as something that would take a dedicated master of Earth elementalism significant effort to produce- and despite being a generalist, Ambrose made ten-plus of them (not counting the significantly-more-complicated control setup) in a month, in his spare time.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Spends most of his first major appearance joking around and trolling people as he normally does, then slaps a seal on Alex that would have made him incapable of magic had he been anyone else.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: One of his two defining character traits.
  • The Dreaded: Nobody wants to hear that he's on an incoming trajectory, except possibly some of the less-intelligent fairies. Unlike most cases of The Dreaded, it's mostly due to raw exasperation than anything else.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Altria describes him as an 'old softie at his center'. This much eventually proves true: He goes from slapping Alex with a (very rude) seal in an attempt to utterly deprive him of his magic, to giving him advice and offering some level of comfort as the depths of Demise's Curse are unveiled.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Alex's antics have frequently driven him to drink.
  • Troll: His other defining character trait.

Hyrule

    Navi
The partner of the Ocarina of Time Link, now a Great Fairy. And also Briar's mother.
  • Fairy Companion: Possibly the most notorious example in video game history, but not anymore.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Went from being a fairy about as capable as Briar to being fully capable of punching out Nayru.

Shuzen Estate

     Kahlua Shuzen
A living vampire of one of the oldest and most notorious vampire faimilies in the East.
  • Boss Subtitles: Notable in being the first set of subtitles to change: Vampire Princess, Shuzen Kahlua -> Vampire Warrior-Princess, Shuzen Kahlua
  • Our Vampires Are Different: One of the Rosario-type living vampires, as opposed to the Buffy type corpse-vampires.
  • Recurring Boss: The first fight to be a proper boss twice.
