Main Characters

    Miles "Tails" Prower
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_pplseabvjr1y0ywdeo3_1280.jpg
A yellow two-tailed fox who has been bullied for his whole life because of his mutated tails. After being pushed too far, he decides to take matters into his own hands…
  • Adaptational Villainy: Miles Prower as a result of different events than canon. In the game canon, he's The Lancer to Sonic's The Hero. However, in this story, he's the main villain.
  • Aimlessly Seeking Happiness: Miles. He's still constructing his inventions in hopes that people would give him the affection he desires. Even after torching his village, he doesn't stop looking for ways that people could love him for something, they just have to...
  • Alas, Poor Villain: Miles's death itself is tragic. After Sonic fatally strikes him down, he doesn't have a Villainous Breakdown or say that he is too late to stop the countdown. He just lays there with Sonic, as they both stare at a clock that is ticking away the countdown for the destruction of the city. Miles then reveals to Sonic that nothing will happen when the countdown ends, as it was just his time left on the planet that is running out. He gets a last heart to heart conversation with Sonic, as he lays dying on the ground.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Miles' life without Sonic's presence is tough, as the villagers in his Hated Hometown antagonize him for his traits and appearance, while there is no one to support him at home, as it takes two years of this life and suffering to transform him into a tired, broken mess.
    "Eww! His tails!"
    "Yeah I know, it's disgusting."
  • Animal Motifs: Spiders are associated with Miles because he's an Evil Genius and because of his obsession of punishing all of the bad people around the world, like some form of Spider predator, who builds things like spider his web.
  • Anti-Hero: Miles tries to become a hero, but it doesn't work out. This is because, while his intentions were genuine, Miles's "methods" of dealing with Egg-Man didn't agree with Sonic's morals.
  • Anti-Villain: Miles is a type 1 and 2. Type 2 because of his tragic past of having never been loved and type 1 because he sets his own robot army to deactivate when the countdown reaches zero.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: A little bit in another order. Murder, Arson, and a creation of his Badass Creed of removing bad people from the world.
  • Ascended Fanboy: What is implied with Miles' interactions with Sonic in the Interquel.
    • And then it's inverted, after his involvement in killing Egg-Man.
  • Ax-Crazy: Miles is a psychotic, sadistic, deranged, unhinged and has a love for the Slasher Smile and Nightmare Face tropes.
  • Badass Back: Miles has an device connected to his spine, that on command can extend it's tendrils for defense or offensive, is also implied that he doesn't even have to look in the face of the victim, even while he is standing behind it, it can reach quite well.
  • Badass Bookworm: Miles' form of revenge against those that called him nerd all those years.
  • Beard of Sorrow: Miles' whiskers after the Time Skip, look a lot more like a big beard of it.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Might be the reason why Miles decided to make an umbrella for Cream.
  • Becoming the Mask: Miles develops his name "Tails" in the Interquel, along with a description that he is a traveler who punishes bad people, which he did earlier to his village and bullies...
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: After enduring years of being bullied and tortured by the people in his village, Miles would later on become a villain bent on destroying the world.
  • Big Bad: Miles, a few readers were shocked and disturbed by how he makes a better villain than Egg-Man. He's the one Sonic and co. oppose in this timeline and the mastermind behind what is heavily implied to be the destruction of several (at least one is confirmed, the others are ambiguous) cities.
  • Big Bad Slippage: It's implied that Miles would have gone off more insane and sadistic for the past 8 years. There is even art that shows him yelling an Madness Shout. That he even decides to just off himself with Sonic's help.
  • Big Sleep: In the end, as Miles starts reminiscing about the past, he thinks that it is a shame that he never became a hero and that maybe he could have been friends with Sonic if things were different. Sonic then says that he would have been more than that, he would have become apart of his family. Miles then starts to tear up and thanks Sonic one last time, before he dies soon after.
  • Big Word Shout: After Miles screams to them that "THAT HE WAS HIS ONLY" right before he makes a pause, to only scream to them the word "FAMILY!" before he kills his bullies.
    Miles: FAMILY!
  • Black-and-White Insanity: Miles starts establishing these traits after he burns his village to the ground. He starts developing questionable morals when it comes to dealing with bad people, such as murdering Egg-Man as a way to fix the world. Of course, this goes against Sonic's morality and this causes a falling out between him and Miles.
  • Black Blood: Inverted, Miles still bleeds with normal blood, is just that his Spider Chassis device is connected to his spine, which also has some kind of Black Liquid coursing through them, and when he gets hit mortally in the heart, he loses the ability to use his tendrils, and the whole device in his spine breaks and makes seemingly Black Blood leaking out as the whole pool of it forms beneath Miles.
  • Black Bug Room: In the Interquel: Miles' head starts getting clouded with bad memories, which includes killing the bullies that murdered his pet bird. The bullies' voices then started to ridicule him in his head for having two tails and it nearly leads to Miles cutting off his two tails. But thankfully, Miles never goes through with the deed.
    • Artistic License – Biology: Although despite being averted by Miles: If he would have actually went through with it, it would have produced an extreme blood loss from both of his sides, and as a result he would have bled out to death, serving as it's form of Accidental Suicide. And seeing as Cream would have also arrived in the morning to check up on him, either dead or alive, she would be completely shocked to see Miles without his tails in that state.
  • Bloodbath Villain Origin: A truly chilling one, upon hitting both the Despair Event Horizon AND the Rage Breaking Point at practically the same time, the story's Big Bad loses it and murders the pair of bullies responsible in a brutal display of primal fury before going back to his hated hometown and putting it to the torch ala Sephiroth. Then in the next scene, he's a world consuming Tragic Villain.
  • Blood-Splattered Innocents: When the bullies kill Miles' pet, Miles ends up getting splattered with the bird's blood.
  • Forgiveness Requires Death: Tries to get Sonic to kill him, and only then afterwards sees him for what he once truly was.
  • Strike Me Down with All of Your Hatred!: Constantly taunts Sonic during the last fight, which results in his death.

    Sonic the Hedgehog
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_psgxzb0t3h1y0ywdeo1_1280.jpg
Sonic the Hedgehog, 25 years old. Young, Broke, and Desperate.

A blue hedgehog who uses his super-speed to save the world, either from Eggman, or from Eggman's killer.

  • Anguished Outburst: Miles kills Sonic's Arch-Nemesis Doctor Egg-Man, that in turn gets him chewed out by Sonic and sent to prison.
  • Antagonist in Mourning: Sonic's role here is the Hero Antagonist, and he watches as two of his enemies die in this story.
    • There's a flashback in the middle of the story where Sonic has a horrified expression when he sees Egg-Man's corpse, and incredulously calls out to him.
    • Sonic mourns Miles' death on-screen, calling him Tails, as if he subconsciously knew of the canon timeline and how things shouldn't be this way.
      • But he just already knew Miles' nickname as shown in the Interquel, he just wasn't saying it because he didn't thought that Miles deserved to be called by his nickname, as things were way too serious to call him by that nickname. Until the very end, Sonic does remember how he called himself back then, when they first met. Not Miles. But Tails.
  • Bandaged Face: Sonic gets his right side of his face, fully covered in them where his injured eye is.

    Amy Rose

A pink hedgehog who wields a hammer. She is Sonic's girlfriend, and she takes her job as a cook very seriously.

Antagonists

Miles' Bullies / Leo Tenebris and Bates Tenebris

A group of people throughout Miles's village who mocked Miles for his tails and destroyed his inventions. It didn't work out for some of them…

  • Ascended Extra: In the SonAmy comic set in the same universe, Cream the Rabbit was shown briefly in the story as she was the one who convinced Amy to dance in front of the rebels. In the Interquel, Cream the Rabbit has a much bigger role as she was the first person to befriend Miles, when Miles leaves his village, after burning it to the ground.
  • Badass Adorable: Cream, she can lift two Mobians at the same time, and is yet to be found out on how her fighting skills are.
