    Congar

This monkey doesn't want a banana
Film: Day of the Colossus

  • Apes in Space: Congar's origin story reveals that he was just a normal chimpanzee working for NASA until an incident with the aliens turned him into a monstrous freak.
  • An Ice Person: Congar's fourth skin is effectively him made of ice.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: Congar's second skin sports glowing blue eyes. Fitting as the second skin is based on the Yeti.
  • King Kong Copy: Congar's design is based on the classic movie monster, King Kong. In fact in the campaign, during his introduction, he scaled up a building much like Kong did.
  • Start of Darkness: Congar's backstory is tragic. He was just a NASA chimp until a saucer crashed into his space capsule, hurling him back to Earth all the while he's horrifically burnt on re-entry. Not only that, the saucer's alien fuel came into contact with him and he's forcibly mutated and grew in size. Once back on Earth, Congar is in massive pain and completely confused on what's happened to him. It's little wonder he snapped.
  • Super-Scream: Congar's Sonic Roar special attack involves him releasing a powerful roar that sends normal monsters flying.
  • Unwilling Roboticisation: In the campaign, after being defeated, the military took Congar's corpse and turned him into a cyborg. He was unleashed in Metro City, where he ends up teaming up with Preytor against the player monster.

    Togera
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_5_8b26dc38a4.jpg
He's not a purple Dinosaur, that's for sure.note
Film: Revenge of Togera

  • All Animals Are Dogs: A humorous Victory Pose shows the saurian chasing after his own tail.
  • Awakening the Sleeping Giant: Togera's origin story reveals that he had sleeping under the ocean for possibly millions of years until a downed flying saucer crashes within his area and wakes him up.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Togera has a Ankylosaur-like tail club to lay the smack down on his enemies. It also has spikes on them, giving further damage.
  • Big Red Devil: Togera's fourth skin make him less like a giant dinosaur and more like a demon from Hell.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: Togera has spiked blades that extend from the back of his wrists during punch attacks.
  • Breath Weapon: Togera can fire green flames from his mouth.
  • Last of His Kind: Lore details that he might possibly the last of his species.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Togera is an underwater giant Theropod with Ankylosaurid features.
  • Notzilla: Togera is based on the famous dinosaur kaiju, Godzilla. However, he also has ankylosaur-esque features that make him resemble Anguirus as well.
  • Robot Me: Togera's third skin is a robotic version of himself.
  • Wolverine Claws: Togera has these all over his body! The spikes on his wrists, shoulders, and legs can all be extended and retracted at will.

    Preytor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_1_9b5949816a.jpg
Just to let you know, I'm a girl.
Film: The Creeping Chaos

  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Preytor is a giant kaiju-sized Praying Mantis. A majority of her assorted skins are of some kind of giant insect like ants and hornets.
  • Expy: Preytor is based on giant mantises from Godzilla and The Deadly Mantis.
    • Her third alternate skin is from the giant ants from Them!.
  • Flight: Preytor is one of two monsters that are capable of actual flight.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Her origin story reveals that she was just a normal praying mantis until a scientist had the brightest idea to feed her alien fuel. Preytor made sure to thank him.
  • Mooks: Her second skin act as this at Rosdale Canyon.
  • Personal Space Invader: Preytor's long-range special attack is a giant homing parasite that latches onto your face, facehugger-style.
  • Robot Me: Preytor's third skin is a robotic version of herself.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Preytor is the only female monster (in her default form) of the series. The unused demo shows Preytor laying eggs.
  • Super Spit: She fires gross green spit as her basic ranged attack.

    Kineticlops
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_2_e7cc02a516.jpg
Eye-Scream
Film: Battle for Atomic Island

  • Body Horror: Kineticlops was formerly a human but an incident transformed him into an Energy Being with the only thing that remotely proves that he was ever human is his sole eyeball.
  • Chain Lightning: Kineticlops's Electric Shock not only electrocutes its intended target but the attack will then extend to anyone that came within its range and deal the same damage.
  • Energy Being: He's a monster composed mostly of electricity. Mostly...
  • Faceless Eye: He sports a very human eye.
  • Frog Men: Kineticlop's fourth skin is basically a giant amphibian, possibly inspired by the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
  • Glass Cannon: Kineticlops has some of the best long-range attacks, especially his special move but has very low durability.
  • Guest Fighter: Kineticlops would later appear in a bicycle sports videogame made by Incognito Entertainment, Downhill Domination
  • Mook Maker: In the campaign, an army of miniature Kineticlops spawned by the Atomic Island reactors serve as the warm-up fight before the actual Boss Battle against Vegon.
  • Off with His Head!: In a humorous way, in one of his Victory Poses, Kineticlops removes his eye and plays with it like a basketball.
  • Shock and Awe: All of his attacks are electric-based to give his opponents a shocking surprise.
  • The Unfought: The "real" Kineticlops is never faced in Story Mode, only small copies of him.
  • Was Once a Man: Kineticlops's origin story reveals that he was just an ordinary human security guard until a flying saucer that was trapped within electrical wires fired an alien fuel-charged blast that hit him, turning the man into the Energy Being we know and feared.
  • Your Size May Vary: Is naturally far smaller as a Guest Character in Downhill Domination.

    Robo-47
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_2_7253136757.jpg
Prime Directive - Destroy
Film: Battle of Titans

  • American Robot: Robo-47 was created and developed by the U.S. military. He sports U.S. Air Force symbols, is loaded with appropriate chain guns and nuclear missiles, and comes with a Hammer of Justice. He even leads a U.S. Army battalion against the Player's monster in the main campaign.
  • Awakening the Sleeping Giant: For some unexplained reason, Robo-47 was decommissioned and was stored in a hangar. When a flying saucer crashed near the building, the alien fuel leaked out and reactivated the machine.
  • Chest Blaster: 47 can fire a machine gun out of his chest.
  • Do-Anything Robot: Being a mecha prepped for war, Robo-47 possesses all sorts of armaments and doodads at his disposal including giant drills, hammers, spikes, a jetpack and a nuke.
  • Gatling Good: His chest cannon appears to take the form of an oversized Gatling gun.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Well, manual story and gameplay segregation at least. The game manual claims he is a decomissioned war robot revived by the Alien Radiation, and is now out of control. However, in the game storyline itself, he appears to be entirely under the military's control.
  • Hero Antagonist: Surprisingly, he is actually the most noble monster out of the lot. Throughout the entire campaign, he and his incarnations are seemingly on the military's side and have attacked only the aliens and monsters.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: His singular eye has a menacing red glow.
  • Spin Attack: Robo-47 can rotate his torso at 360° allowing him to spin around.
  • This Is a Drill: Robo-47 can extended drills out of his hands. When grabbing enemies, he can also summon a drill out of his head.
  • You Nuke 'Em: His Nuclear Missile allows him to fire a tactical nuke with homing capabilities at his targets with explosive results.

    Agamo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_1_aa5e0c9485.jpg
He's the King of Rock
Film: Terror in Paradise

  • Awakening the Sleeping Giant: Agamo's origin story revealed that a tribe's shaman gave the stone head alien fuel as an offering only to awaken the stone giant in the process.
  • Evil Versus Evil: At Club Caldera, Agamo was already battling it out with Magmo who sent the stone giant crashing into a building at the beginning of the cinematic. Agamo would then return the favor back onto Magmo.
  • Flaming Hair: There's literally fire burning inside his stone head. According to his bio, the fire is his rage.
  • Living Statue: Agamo's form is a rough Tiki statue made of natural rock and filled with lava.
  • Losing Your Head: Agamo's long-range special attack has him rip his head off and use it as a projectile.
  • Monster Clown: Agamo Fourth's skin is Mecha-Sweet Tooth, a robot version of the character. It can only be unlocked if your console possessed a saved file of Twisted Metal: Black.
  • Physical God: Agamo is described as an ancient god, worshipped by an old tribe. Given that in his origin story, Agamo has somehow already had a body when he rose up does add credence to this theory.
  • Rock Monster: Being made of rock, Agamo can take a lot of damage. He's also able to manipulate the element, allowing him to form massive stone fists and regenerate his head every time he does his special moves.
  • Terrifying Tiki: Agamo's design is inspired by Maori mythology, particularly the tiki statues.

    Magmo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_1_be817bdef5.jpg
This dude's burning with passion
Film: Terror in Paradise

  • Evil Versus Evil: At Club Caldera, Magmo was already engaged in an intense fight with Agamo.
  • Living Lava: Magmo is a vaguely humanoid mass of lava that achieved sentience when an alien spaceship crashed into a volcano and spilled its mutagenic fuel into the magma. His various skins depict the lava in his body in different states. The first one gives him a mostly rocky outer hide with lava showing through the cracks, the second has him in a mostly liquid state, and the fourth skin has Magmo almost completely liquid and on fire.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: Magmo's special move has him spewing fiery lava bombs that can home in on enemies.
  • Mighty Glacier: As ironic as it is to call him a glacier, but this is Magmo in a nutshell. He hits the hardest and is the most durable of the monsters, but he runs slowly, his missile attack is sluggish, and a lot of his attacks have a bit of a windup.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Magmo got four arms, ready to tear his enemies limb by limb.
  • Playing with Fire: Being a lava monster, Magmo has several fire-based attacks.
  • Robot Me: Magmo's third skin is a metal golem based on a furnace.

    Ultra-V
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_1_7da05022f8.jpg
Konnichiwa. I Am. Rock Em. Sock Em. Robot
Film: Destroyer Wave

    Raptros
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_3_11e16d6ddc.jpg
This is one dragon that a skinny viking can't tame
Film: It Came from the Skies

  • Ambiguous Gender: It's unclear what the exact relationship between the two Raptros is, and also unclear if one of them may be female.
  • Breath Weapon: Like any dragon, Raptros can spew flames to incinerate his enemies. Unlike Togera's, his breath leaves enemies with burning damage over time after it's done.
  • Dem Bones: Raptros's fourth skin is a complete skeletal version of himself, making him akin to a Dracolich.
  • Flight: Raptros use his wings to fly in a similar manner to Preytor, though he is capable of staying in the air for a longer time.
  • Mysterious Past: Unlike the other Earth-born monsters, Raptros does not have an "origins" video.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Raptros is a colossal dragon that picks up airplanes like snacks.
  • Razor Wings: Raptros can utilize his wings to bring damage to his enemies.

    Zorgulon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_3_3854055750.jpg
We don't come in peace
Film: Terror in Space

  • Aliens Are Bastards: He's associated with the same invasion force that ravages the planet Earth.
  • Combat Tentacles: Zorgulon uses them to knock his opponents back.
  • Drone Deployer: His special move has him summon a squadron of flying saucers to attack the enemy.
  • Ray Gun: Zorgulon carries one on him for his basic ranged attack, firing a double version of Ultra-V's eye laser that is more powerful but has a much slower rate of fire.
  • Starfish Aliens: Zorgulon and his kind are outright bizarre. They're an alien race that are squid-like in appearance, have menacing red eyes and large pincers and exposed brains.

Bosses

    Goliath Prime
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_5_3bfd252032.jpg
Hasta La Vista Baby!
Film: Outpost X

  • Dash Attack: Goliath Prime will ready his helicopter blades before charging at the player monster like a bullet train, ending them flying. One way to disrupt it is the large boulder that can be grabbed and thrown at him.
  • Helicopter Blender: Goliath sports two sets of helicopter blades on his shoulders. They not only help him fly around the map, but he also uses them to help perform his Dash Attack.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: The player monster can collect the bombs Goliath threw at them and toss it right back.
  • Humongous Mecha: The largest robot by far, towering the already large Robo-47 and Ultra-V.
  • Mad Bomber: Goliath carries around bombs which he throws against the player monster.
  • Spin Attack: Goliath Prime can convert to a top-like configuration where he spins towards the player and smacks them around with his massive fists. If left in this mode long enough, he can readily destroy Rosdale Canyon's stone pillars.

    Vegon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_5_578054bbac.jpg
I'M A BIG GREEN MOTHER...
Film: Battle for Atomic Island

  • Acid Attack: Vegon can spew out acidic venom that can deal a lot of damage to the player monster if not avoided.
  • Expy: Inspired by Biollante from Godzilla and Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors.
  • Man-Eating Plant: Vegon is a mutated Venus flytrap and by far the biggest monster in the game. If the player monster doesn't hit it during its vulnerable mouth-open phase, it will swallow them, deal a bunch of damage, then spit them back out.
  • Vine Tentacles: Vegon will use this after its heads retreat into the pod.

    Cerebulon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_5_edac677cda_1_60.jpg
Prepare to meet your Doom!
Film: Cerebulon: Destroyer of Worlds

  • Aliens Are Bastards: Given that his title is "Destroyer of Worlds", it's a safe bet what Cerebulon's motivations are.
  • Arm Cannon: Cerebulon's first form can convert his arms into a laser cannon that fires off a devastating beam. The player monster has to hide behind the rows of pillar to not receive too much damage.
  • Clipped-Wing Angel: After Cerebulon's head explodes and his body lays dead on the ground, something starts to move inside. Exiting out of the corpse is Cerebulon who is now so small he barely reaches the player monster's ankle. Naturally, Cerebulon sees the battle is lost and quickly flees.
  • Deflector Shields: Cerebulon has one whilst in its first form, protecting its brain case. After Cerebulon finishes its beam attack, the forcefield is powered down allowing the opportunity to throw something to damage it.
  • Dr. Brainpart: The mastermind behind the alien invasion, whose head looks like an exposed giant brain and whose name sounds like either "cerebrum" or "cerebellum".
  • Eldritch Abomination: Makes Zorgulon look tame by comparison.
  • Expy: Cerebulon is based on the Tripods from War of the Worlds.
  • Final Boss: Cerebulon is the last monster to face in Adventure mode.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: To deal damage to Cerebulon's second form, the player monster must collect pieces of Cerebulon's first form and throw them at him.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: If Cerebulon's third form catches up with the player monster, he'll proceed to lay the smack down onto them.
  • One-Winged Angel: Inverted. After the player monster destroys two of his armors, Cerebulon smashes his way out of his suit and reveals his hideous mug.
  • Shock and Awe: Cerebulon's second form can attack you with a powerful electrical blast.
  • Tripod Terror: Cerebulon has two variations.
    • Cerebulon's first form is a massive four-legged mecha with a powerful Arm Cannon and is heavily armored to not be harmed by conventional means. However because of its bulk, it has low mobility making it very slow.
    • On the other hand, his second form (which is is far closer in design to the one depicted in the novel), while not as big and imposing as the first form is still a force to be reckoned with. Without the armor, Cerebulon can move incredibly fast and will attack the player monster with an electric attack.
  • Your Head Asplode: After defeating Cerebulon in his third form, his head starts to bulge intensely before it explodes.
