Leonhardt Arknoah
The main protagonist. Formerly a slave of the Varganian Empire, Leonhardt has grown into a trustworthy soldier. After quelling past rebellions within the Empire, he was entrusted with command of his own army, the "Black Arme Vapula", and tasked with conquering the Empire's rivals. Leonhardt's Tactica, "Gula Satanas", is a product of the Empire turning him and his cousin into living weapons, and allows him to absorb the energy of others.
- Full-Circle Revolution: His primary motivation is usurping the Empire that enslaved him, and he may choose to enslave others in order to accomplish that goal.
- Naughty Tentacles: His "Gula Satanas" manifests as these when he uses it on a female opponent.
- Unperson: Leonhardt and his Black Arme Vapula were instrumental in defeating Elnath and conquering Helvetia, but he was since stricken from history and shrouded in darkness so he could be used as the Empire's secret weapon.
- Villain Protagonist: Leon can choose to corrupt the minds and souls of others in order to enact his treasonous plans.
Anora Arknoah
- Voiced by: Ringo Aoba
The Black Arme Vapula's sub-commander, and cousin of its leader Leonhardt, who she cares for enough to risk her own life in exchange for furthering his ambitions. In their youth, like Leonhardt, the Empire forcibly converted Anora into a living weapon that could manipulate the souls of others at the cost of her lifespan. This power manifests as her Tactica, "Scurezza". As she can also manipulate her own soul and physical form with this power, she's very adept at espionage.
- Cast from Lifespan: Anora's power to "Morph" the souls of others comes at this cost.
- Familiar: Her cat, Envy.
- Good Costume Switch: The community-voted event for the Updated Re-release gives her a white outfit, as well as change her title from "Black Maiden" to "Pure White Maiden", now that she's finally at peace with her "beloved" Leonhardt after uniting the continent.
- Guest Fighter: She appears in Venus Blood -Gaia- International as a battle-only unit.
- Kissing Cousins: She's involved in multiple romantic scenes with Leonhardt, and can refer to him as her "beloved", despite being related closely enough to share a last name.
- Unholy Matrimony: A new event in the Updated Re-release has her wear a skimpy, wedding-themed dark dress to celebrate Leonhardt's successful conquests.
Noel
- Voiced by: Yuki Sakata
Leonhardt's most reliable subordinate, and squad captain for his personal army. Her species, the Lupold, is considered to be rare in the land of Helvetia. Although Noel is capable and good of taking care of matters, she dislikes dealing with complex issues. Her Tactica, "Veil Ground", allows her to create a defensive barrier.
- Little Bit Beastly: Noel is a Lupold, but unlike Garm, she just has dog ears and a tail while otherwise looking like an ordinary person.
Sylvia Hamartia
- Voiced by: Sahomi Koyama
The "White Princess" of the Varganian Empire, otherwise known as Demon Empress Karvia's little sister. Unlike most demons, she's incredibly empathetic, and wishes for peace without world domination. However, her youth prevents her from achieving this goal with her own power. Her Tactica power, "Celestia", allows her to use divine magic in order to heal allies and dispel magical traps.
- Corrupt the Cutie: Her Morph form, "the Devil Princess", has her stop resisting her innate demonic impulses, becoming more arrogant like her sister in the process.
- Defector from Decadence: She leaves the Empire and sides with Leonhardt after realizing how corrupt its rule had become.
- Guest Fighter: She appears in Venus Blood -Gaia- International as a battle-only unit.
- An Ice Person: If Judecca and Sylvia perform a Morph, Sylvia gains this technique.
- Joshikousei: A new event in the Updated Re-release has her Morph form wear a skimpy version of one.
- Kimono Fanservice: Another new event in the Updated Re-release has her wearing one while hosting an elaborate dinner party for a VIP from the Varganian Empire.
Judecca Rosequartz
- Voiced by: Yukari Hirayama
Sylvia's loyal bodyguard, serving her ever since her own life was saved by the young princess. Although she is friendly and reliable, she's very protective of Sylvia, and will efficiently kill any threats with her skill with a blade and mastery over ice, the latter of which manifests as her Tactica power, "Helheim".
- An Ice Person: Judecca has the power to manipulate ice crystals, which she often channels into her blade.
- I Owe You My Life: She serves as Sylvia's bodyguard, first pledging her fealty after Sylvia saved her life.
Karvia Kurlsevni
- Voiced by: Harumi Asai
The "Dark Empress" of the Empire, and Sylvia's older sister. After defeating the land's Goddess in war, Karvia has gained a reputation as the strongest Demon alive, as well as for ruling with an iron fist. Having waited for peace to return to the land before conquering all of Helvetia, she's now tasked Leonhardt with starting the next war. Her Tactica, "Lucifero", afflicts her opponents with various lethal ailments.
- The Dreaded: The other nations fear her, to the point of mobilizing against her the moment it's reported that she's been acting suspiciously.
- Mad Love: Her Morph form is the opposite of Sylvia's, transforming pride in herself into adoration for Leonhardt.
Celias
- Voiced by: Yuuko Kawase
One of the two guardians of the Varganian Empire, and the commander-in-chief of its main army, considered more skilled than Leonhardt. Although she stays calm and quiet while at Karvia's side, she's relentless on the battlefield, using her Tactica, "Ashkelon", to enhance her slashes and cut through anything and everything until only dust remains.
- Chainmail Bikini: Her armor primarily covers her arms, leaving most of her torso completely exposed.
- Co-Dragons: With Hamud.
Hamud
- Voiced by: Kazunobu Suzuki
The other guardian of the Varganian Empire, he's served as a loyal tactician for many years. He sincerely believes in Karvia's iron-fisted rule, and has multiple contingency plans in place to ensure that she remains in power. His Tactica power, "Calavera", allows him to summon a poisonous miasma that can drain energy from his opponents.
- Co-Dragons: With Celias.
- Evil Old Folks: He's the eldest-looking of the cast, and fully supports Karvia's rule.
- The Strategist: His main role within the Empire.
Lynette
- Voiced by: Yuri Takamura
A commander of a minor division of the Empire's army, who instigates a rebellion after witnessing too much corruption.
- Little Bit Beastly: She looks like an ordinary human, save for her fox ears.
- Starter Villain: Putting down her rebellion serves as the game's tutorial, before the Empire orders Leon to move out and conquer the other nations.
Eleanore de Victorique
- Voiced by: Mari Oda
The Dark Lord of Necrograd. Before taking control of her own nation, she was one of the scientists that first discovered and learned how to manufacture Tactica, and befriended Leonhardt while he was being converted into a living weapon. As a leader, she still eagerly pursues scientific advancement and satiating her curiosity over all else, relying on her subordinate Tetra (who she manufactured by herself, and continuously upgrades) to care for other matters. Her Tactica power, "Laurel Friedrich", allows her to willingly alter the elemental affinity of her attacks.
- Cyborg Wizard: Her Morphed form, the "Fullmetal Woman", maintains her elemental manipulation powers while giving her combat golem augments.
- Fountain of Youth: A new event in the Updated Re-release has her transformed into a younger (but still adult) state after an experiment goes wrong.
- Mad Scientist: Eleanore specializes in this.
- Professor Guinea Pig: If she undergoes a Morph with Tetra, she becomes addicted to the sensation and further augments herself.
Tetra
- Voiced by: Yuri Takamura
Eleanore's loyal subordinate, and greatest masterpiece, being a combat golem she created using spare parts from the Empire's war against the Goddess. However, due to her parts being unbalanced, she's still a tad clumsy and rather dependent on Eleanore. She is capable of creating offensive sonic blasts using her Tactica power, "Hateful Scream".
- Cute Clumsy Girl: Due to the mismatch of parts used in her construction, she has a habit of tripping.
- Robot Girl: For a combat golem, she's quite humanoid in appearance.
Meiko
- Voiced by: Minami Imaya
A resentful female zombie that commands a division of undead in Necrograd's army.
- Attractive Zombie: Aside from her Undeathly Pallor, there's no sign that she was ever a corpse.
- Guest Fighter: She appears in Venus Blood -Gaia- International as a battle-only unit.
- Undeathly Pallor: Her skin is notably discolored to a blue-purple hue to reflect her status as a zombie.
Tsubaki
- Voiced by: Yuuki Kajita
The Dark Lord of Rakshasa. In terms of physical might, Tsubaki is considered to be the strongest of the land's leaders. However, she dislikes complicated strategies and boredom, frequently leading to sneaking away from her duties for a cup of sake and lectures from her subordinate Ayame when she returns. Despite her flaws, she genuinely wants the best for her nation, and is serious when it comes to protecting it. Her Tactica power, "Raioumaru", allows her to attack with a devastating amount of lightning.
- Breast Expansion: One of the side effects of Morphing with Ayame is enhancing this part of her to better match her assistant.
- Bust-Contrast Duo: In comparison to her assistant Ayame, her regular proportions are quite small, in terms of both height and bust.
- Horned Humanoid: She has a single large horn protruding from her forehead.
- The Oldest Profession: A new event in the Updated Re-release has Villain Protagonist Leonhardt oust her from being a Dark Lord and force her to prostitute herself, with her sanity deteriorating as a direct result.
- Oni: Her race, which is evident by her horn, her power, and her love of sake.
- Pintsized Powerhouse: The smallest of the Dark Lords, but has the power to defend her rule.
- Shock and Awe: Her Tactica power. If Tsubaki is Morphed with Ayame, she gains further control of thunder and lightning using the latter's Weather Manipulation techniques, and gains the moniker "Bluebolt Yakshini".
- Stripperiffic: In her default appearance, her robe is only half-on, exposing a lot of skin (though not enough to be considered "obscene" by Kickstarter ToS). Her Morph outfit actually covers more of her (now-enhanced) chest.
Ayame
- Voiced by: Minami Imaya
Tsubaki's aide, also known as Rakshasa's prime minister, who manages various political matters that Tsubaki can't handle. She's also Tsubaki's childhood friend, who worries about her bad habits, and has trained to be an Onmyouji in order to help protect the nation. Her Tactica power, "Suikou Setten", allows her to manipulate mist.
- Cat Girl: Ayame is a Nekomata, and has a pair of large cat ears.
- Fountain of Youth: A new event in the Updated Re-release has her temporarily reduced to a more youthful (but still adult-aged) form after expending too much spiritual energy to seal an evil spirit.
- Paper Talisman: Her tool of choice as an Onmyouji.
- Weather Manipulation: Using Tactica energy and her own sorcery, she has control over mist and fog.
Nazuna
- Voiced by: Harumi Asai
A Rakshasan kunoichi, and member of the Nue race, that conducts espionage and sabotages enemies on Ayame's behalf.

Julia von Archlond
- Voiced by: Maki Tomonaga
The Dark Lord of Archlond. In addition to ruling the land, she also directly commands the "Scharlachrot Flugel", an elite air force that accomplished great feats in the war against the Goddess. Although she's usually harsh to everyone, she has a soft spot for her younger sister, Liese. Her Tactica power, "Prominence Bolg", can create destructive flames.
- Ascended Extra: She stars in her own After Days episode, and shares the spotlight with Liese in a Dark Chronicles episode.

- Draconic Humanoid: While mostly humanoid, she has horns, a scaled tail, and giant red wings to show off her draconic heritage.
- Guest Fighter: She appears in Venus Blood -Gaia- International as a battle-only unit.
- Tsundere: A Type A in her uncorrupted form.
- Unholy Matrimony: If Morphed with her more sensitive and nurturing sister Liese, her arrogance is turned into devotion, to the point that she claims the title of Leonhardt's "Infernal Bride" regardless of his feelings about her.
Liese von Archlond
- Voiced by: Mika Enoki
Julia's sickly younger sister. Although her ailments have her prefer to stay cooped in her room, she tries to act energetic so her sister doesn't worry about her. She sometimes goes out to sing in public, and her Tactica, "Felicita", is able to heal and bless any who hear her music.
- Ascended Extra: She stars in her own After Days episode, and shares the spotlight with Julia in a Dark Chronicles episode.
- Draconic Humanoid: Like her sister, she has draconic traits such as horns, a tail, and wings, though Liese's are notably underdeveloped.
- Guest Fighter: She appears in Venus Blood -Gaia- International as a battle-only unit.
- Human Pet: A new event in the Updated Re-release has her being punished for being too meek in combat by making her dress like a cat, with the hope that she'll give in to her "wild side".
- Incredible Shrinking Man: Another new event in the Updated Re-release shrinks her down to the size of a fairy, but the size of her wings remains the same, with the reduced weight allowing them to become functional.
- Wings Do Nothing: Due to being underdeveloped, Liese's dragon wings are incapable of flight, and merely for show.
Mason
- Voiced by: Takeshi Ooba
The captain of Archlond's Sky Dragon Assault military unit.
Almirangda
- Voiced by: Miya Serizono
A sexy devil that took command of Ishta after the Demons won against the Goddess and migrated to the other territories of Helvetia. Despite her appearances, Almirangda should not be underestimated, as she has enough innate power that some demons believe her to be a Great Devil that's lived since ancient history. She's attracted to other strong demons, and gains an interest in Leonhardt as he starts conquering territories.
- Stripperiffic: To the point that, in-universe, she's often confused for a succubus.
Nachtu
A dramatic hermit that lives on the surface of Ishta, claiming to be a scientist that is willing to cooperate with Leonhardt in order to further his studies. Nachtu is also incredibly knowledgeable about ancient legends.

- Voiced by: Miyuu Kashiwagi
Formerly a high-ranking angel who served under the Goddess Elnath, Luseli witnessed her comrades killed for sport and forcibly turned into Tactica by demons, but was spared from a similar fate. Seeking justice, she has gained many followers with acts of mercy and kindness, and plans to rally them into an army to fight back.
- Fallen Angel: A planned new event in the Updated Re-release has her transform into one.
