  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Being a bear, her claws are sharp enough to kill someone if she lands a full power blow. This is seen when she kills Chiefstain Lief in a single swipe.
  • Action Mom: She has three children, and can fight with both a hammer and her bare hands..
  • Badass Cape: Wears a red cape as a part of her regular outfit.
  • Beary Friendly: Gentle unless you manage to anger her.
  • The Blacksmith: She runs a smithy.
  • Brawn Hilda: She looks very masculine compared to her wife due to her training as a warrior.
  • Butch Lesbian: A former warrior and blacksmith, with some difficulty talking about her emotions, and married to another woman.
  • Dented Iron: She is a retired warrior with a bad leg.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: She glares at a merchant when he jokes about soldiers going to war meaning more business for him since she doesn't approve the senseless death caused by war.
  • Good Is Not Soft: If you harm anyone younger or smaller that you in her presence, expect to get hurt.
  • Handicapped Badass: One of her legs has an old injury that keeps acting up.
  • Happily Married: To Nanna. She's happy with her, although she seems a bit reluctant to talk about some difficult emotions.
  • Mama Bear: A literal example. Strikes those who threatens her children, or any other smaller animal.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Downplayed as she doesn't regret killing Leif since she did it to protect Unni. However, she feels horrified by the act itself and the repercussions that will follow.
  • Reluctant Warrior: Not at all willing to head out to war.
  • Retired Badass: She's a former warrior.
  • Stout Strength: Comes naturally with being a bear. A piece of official artwork of her in human form also showed her to be on the pudgy side.
  • Team Mom: Plays this role for the group.

Unni

  • The Bard: She's a musician and storyteller.
  • Badass Native: She's a sami (The indigenous people of northen scandinavia)
  • Beneath the Mask / Sad Clown: She mostly keeps up a happy disposition but occationally lets it slip that she carries some bagage from events in her past: She indirectly caused her fathers death and the shame drove her to run away from home.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Her eyebrows are larger than her eyes.
  • Blue Is Heroic: She wears a blue Gákti (Traditional sami garb)
  • Boyish Short Hair: In a piece of official artwork of human forms of the characters, Unni's hair is in a pixie cut.
  • Cool Aunt: She fulfills this role for Vide's kids.
  • Cute Bruiser: Bashes a deer several times her size with a chair.
  • Friend to All Children: She clearly cares deeply for the kids under her and Vide's care. Threats made against them triggers her Berserk Button.
  • Fox Folk: She's an arctic fox.
  • Honorary Uncle: She's this to Vide's kids.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Sometimes her attempts at lightening the mood doesn't go over well.
  • It's All My Fault: She blames herself for Hillevi being in the mission for the weapon thief since she had to kill Chieftain Lief to save her life.
  • Lad Ette: Swears and fights.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Has used both F-bombs and various other swears.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: The masculine girl to her friend Vide's feminine boy.
  • Motor Mouth: She sometimes spouts long anecdotes and rambles about her friends, her travels, or sometimes her culture.
  • Outdoorsy Gal: She loves exploring.
  • Platonic Co-Parenting: She and her friend Vide takes care of two kids together.
  • Plucky Girl: She is fearless (Or at least tries to put up an act of it), daring to stand up against animals many times her size, and she tries her best to stay optimistic even in dire situations.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Her outfit is red and blue with yellow details, common colors in traditional Sami dress.
  • Street Musician: She's first introduced playing music in the town square.
  • Weak, but Skilled: She is small, but she still managed to injure an attacking wolf.

  • Badass Bookworm: She spends a lot of time writing runes and reading persian scientific texts. She's also starting to turn into a bookworm of the more badass variety as she's forced into a dangerous mission.
  • Cowardly Lion: She's not a brave type, but still heads out to try and save her sister when she's taken hostage.
  • Daddy's Girl: She's seemingly close to her father, who manages to calm her down during a panic attack.
  • Friendless Background: Implied, with her asking whom she possibly could travel with.
  • Furry Reminder: She bristles up her tail when frightened.
  • The Medic: She is relatively well-read on healing arts, and stitches wounds after a battle.
  • Naïve Newcomer: She has no battle experience, and is implied to not have left her home island too often in the past.
  • Shrinking Violet: She lacks confidence, she's anxious, and she gets very flustered when complimented.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: She is shy and anxious, while her sister is bold and outgoing.
  • Shorter Means Smarter: She's the smallest out of the main characters, but she is also well-read.
  • Stronger Than They Look: In spite of her small size, she has managed to fire a longbow, bite off a wolf's tail and pull up people bigger than her from cliffs. However, she is also a Glass Cannon who cannot handle taking hits very well.
  • Workaholic: She stays up at night working on translating text scrolls.

Herja

  • Cool Sword: She has an intricate sword, given to her by the weapon thief.
  • Covered with Scars: Scars all over her body, including her face.
  • Ear Ache: She cuts off her branded ear.
  • Eye Scream: One of her eyes is gone and scarred over.
  • Full-Boar Action: A wild boar armed with a sword.
  • Dead Pan Snarker: Has some shades of it.
    So she sent you to kill the weapon thief for her? Well, I'm sure you're some capable warriors, then.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: She throws herself at both the weapon thief and later the main characters, beleiving they are out to capture her.
  • Nominal Hero: She joins in on the quest due to a thirst for vengeance, and an understanding that she can't possibly succeed alone.
  • Not So Above It All: She chuckles at one of Unni's amusing anecdotes, and she enthusiastically wolfs down flatbread when she presumably gets decent food for the first time in years.
  • Red Is Violent: She wears red (Washed-out reds, but still) and she's a Villain Killer.
  • Revenge Before Reason: She spends years inprisoned, waiting for a chance to take revenge on her captors. When the Weapon thief frees her, she also kills the captors, thus robbing Herja of her chance of vengeance. This makes her set her vengeance sight on The weapon thief instead.
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: Her scarred arms are bare.
  • The Runaway: She ran away from an abusive home in her youth.
  • Sole Survivor: She's the only survivor of the band of outlaws she once was part of.
  • Vengeance Denied: Her dreams of getting revenge on her captor is crushed when the weapon thief kills him while breaking her out.
  • Villain Killer: She's not squeamish about killing to save herself or others, or to get revenge.

  • The Cassandra: She tries warning the queen that she's ruining her cause but her warnings fall on deaf ears.

  • Redhead In Green: She has a reddish tint to her fur, and she wears a green robe. She's also a redhead in artwork of her in human form.
  • Seers: She is a Vala, and she has visions in her trances.
  • The Stoner: As part of Truth in Television, she uses simulating herbs as part of her shamaness rituals and mentions having a garden where she grows them.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: Platonically with Vide.
