There are multiple types of Vagineers, each with their own specific attributes. They nonetheless share many characteristics which are noted on the main page.
Vagineer subspecies
- Creator: J16FOX2, 2008
The original type of Vagineer conceived and by far the most common. He codifies everything the species as a whole can do, but is considered the weakest due to not having the others' specializations.
- The Berserker: They are extremely ill-tempered and will kill anybody who crosses them.
- Dumb Muscle: They are strong, but rarely employ most strategy than "rush at the enemy and tear them to pieces".
- The Generic Guy: Unlike the other types, RED Vagineers don't have any special abilities that the others don't already have.
- Jack of All Stats: Among all TF2 Freaks, RED Vagineers are perhaps the best example of a "balanced" character, though they are still far stronger than a common man.
- Red Is Violent: They wear red and are, unquestionably, the most aggressive type of Vagineer.
- Zerg Rush: Unlike the other types, RED Vagineers have the distinction of forming packs, which they use with deadly efficiency when dealing with enemies.

The rarest, as well as strongest, form of Vagineer. Only a handful of individuals have ever been recorded.
- Big Bad: They tend to take this role whenever they become involved in a story, which demonstrates how strong they are. One example is the Mastermind, the main villain of the first half of the Quirky Misadventures of Soldine the Cyborg series.
- Genius Bruiser: They are by far the most intelligent form of Vagineer, to the point they can create long-spanning evil plots.
- Make Me Wanna Shout: They can scream very loudly, which is something they sometimes weaponize.
- Master of All: BLU Vagineers are one of the strongest TF2 Freaks in the world, as per agreed in the community, easily able to match the power of pretty much every other character.

Also known as the Vagi-Miner, this yellow-colored Vagineer subspecies is distinct for wearing a miner's hardhat and primarily fighting with a pickaxe.
- Genius Bruiser: While not as smart as their BLU relatives, YLW Vagineers are smarter than REDs and are less likely to simply rush head-first into danger.
- Powerful Pick: They wield large pickaxes, which they use with deadly intent.
- Super Spit: Beyond their pickaxes, YLW Vagineers can also spit out dark energy balls which explode when hitting a surface, which can cause impressive amounts of damage.

This green-colored and semi-aquatic subspecies of Vagineer can be told apart from their cousins due to having an enlarged fist, which they use to pound their victims into the ground.
- Apparently Human Merfolk: They mostly look like Vagineers, but usually live in water.
- Attack Its Weak Point: GRN Vagineers are uniquely weak to head injuries, enough that a shot to the head is enough to kill them outright.
- Breath Weapon: Projectile puking, though it usually only disgusts the victim rather than hurt them.
- Green and Mean: They are green-colored and just as murderous as every other Vagineer.
- Punched Across the Room: Their preferred means of killing their foes, thanks to their massive fists.
- Creator: SarisKhan, 2012
An orange-colored subspecies, noted for their gold-colored goggles. They sometimes act as pack leaders for other Vagineers, and can shoot lasers from their eyes.
- Eye Beams: Their special ability is shooting lasers from their goggles, which can incinerate their victims.
- Hot-Blooded: They are noted to be belligerent and actively look for people to fight.
- Unskilled, but Strong: They are described as stronger than RED Vagineers, but fight with little finesse.
- Vibrant Orange: They are orange-colored and very energetic.
- Creator: Kugawattan, 2012
A purple-colored Vagineer subspecies with characteristics of insects, primarily bug-like feet. They can spit out a strong acid and tend to dwell in dark places.
- Acid Attack: They can puke out acidic venom that burns the victim.
- Achilles' Heel: Anything that resists acid, particularly robots or cyborgs, will be immune to their special powers. In which case, they are no different than RED Vagineers in strength.
- Big Creepy-Crawlies: They are a cross between Vagineers and flies, and have bug-like feet.
- Mighty Glacier: Unlike other Vagineers, their special attack is slower and more easy to dodge, but deals great damage if they can pull it off.
- Poisonous Person: Beyond their acid spit, their very skin is poisonous and can hurt anyone who tries to engage them in melee without protection.
- Purple Is Powerful: Purple-colored and very dangerous.

A massive relative of the Vagineer who resembles an enlarged torso, with a very small Vagineer head acting like a human antlion. They are served by a "Scorpion Vagineer", a Vagineer-like larva with a stinger tail in place of its legs who brings food to its master.
- Beware My Stinger Tail: The Scorpion Vagineer has a stinger tail that can paralyze its victims.
- Big Creepy-Crawlies: Its feeding methods are identical to that of an antlion larva, and its own larva looks like a scorpion.
- Body Horror: Even more so than the regular Vagineer; the Engina is a massive enlarged human torso with a caved-in head that acts like a pit, and the Scorpion Vagineer's tail is actually the Engineer's legs combined and modified to look like one.
- Large and in Charge: The Engina is by far the largest Vagineer derivative, and it commands the smaller Scorpion Vagineers.
- Ludicrous Gibs: When someone falls into the Engina's mouth, it activates a "meat grinder" mode where it proceeds to shred the victim into bloody pieces, sending bits of them flying everywhere.
- The Paralyzer: The Scorpion Vagineer's sting paralyzes the victim, which then leads to it bringing them to the Engina to eat.

A Scout who was infected with the Vagineer virus and has become a recurring character to the point of being recognized as a TF2 Freak of his own right. He possesses all common Vagineer abilities, on top of those that come from the Scout class. Also known as Vagiscout.
- Arm Cannon: He can sprout a Force-a-Nature in the place of his arm, which he can spam without needing to reload.
- The Berserker: He is similar to RED Vagineers in behavior, violently attacking anything that happens to cross paths with him.
- Country Matters: It's in the name.
- Dumb Muscle: They don't have much brainpower beyond killing and eating.
- Extreme Omnivore: Beyond eating people like common Vagineers, Scunt eats basically anything he can get his hands on. Notably, he later excretes whatever he ate as a completely different object, usually a can of Bonk! Atomic Punch.
- Glass Cannon: Scunt is by far the fastest type of Vagineer, but also the most fragile to damage.

A Spy who was infected with the Vagineer virus and has become a recurring character to the point of being recognized as a TF2 Freak of his own right. He possesses all common Vagineer abilities, on top of those that come from the Spy class.
- The Dragon: When paired with Vagineers, he tends to act as their minion.
- Glass Cannon: In comparison to the Vagineer, the Vagispy is more fragile and susceptible to harm.
- Invisibility: He can go invisible, which combined with their Vagineer-like strength, makes him far deadlier than common Spies.
- Shock and Awe: His Sapper is able to be used on living beings rather than just buildings, which electrifies them.
