Main Characters
Leo is a male gray cat who often acts childish and impulsive.
- Cloud Cuckoo Lander: It's not easy to predict his actions, because they seldom have any rhyme or reason to them. As long as it's fun, he'll do it.
- Cruel Player-Character God: Give him any kind of sim game, and he will cause as much hilarious suffering as possible. Provides the trope image.
- Cute Little Fangs: As is standard with feline characters.
- Insane Troll Logic: Why doesn't he use the toilet? Because he has a litter box. Why doesn't he use the litter box? Because it's full.
- Jerkass: He has killed countless Sims by burning them alive, once fed a baby worm thing its own inbred parents after murdering them, causes his entire party to suffer in Final Fantasy because he is too cheap to buy even the most basic healing items, the list goes on...
- Pet the Dog: In "The Perfect Gift." And it is adorable.
- Shout-Out:
- Any die-hard/hardcore fan of 8-Bit Theater knows that Leo's character, and Aeris' are loosely based off of Fighter and Black Mage, respectively.
- In the comic where Scott first introduces PantsMan, there is a quite noticeable 8-Bit Theater poster in the background, however this is only in the book's release.
- Also, Leo's logic behind conquering death is the same as Fighter's
- Too Dumb to Live: He doesn't stop making "yo mama" jokes at Aeris until she aborts him from time. He also tends to get killed frequently when he plays the role of a game character.
- In this strip, he literally forgets how to breathe.
- Unexplained Recovery: Two strips later after literally having never been born, "I got better."
- Video Game Cruelty Potential: Almost every time Leo appears in a game he finds some new way to make the characters suffer.
Aeris is a female pink cat with a low tolerance for stupidity.
- Atomic F-Bomb: Whenever something REALLY pisses her off.
- Ax-Crazy: She can be a bit... extreme, in her reactions at times, as Leo finds out to his cost.
- Cats Are Snarkers: She's a cat, and the most sarcastic character in the webcomic.
- Cute Little Fangs: As is standard with feline characters.
- Good Is Not Nice: She often comes across as very rude and abrasive, and can be borderline abusive to Leo at times.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Shown here. Leo gets her a gift (which she probably already has). Instead of snapping at him, she kisses his forehead. Not something you'd expect from her.
- Only Sane Woman: Though compared to Leo, it's not a very high bar.
- Pink Means Feminine: Although loosely feminine.
- Yaoi Fangirl: Several strips have shown her to be this. Most notably the Star Fox dream.
A superhero whose theme is...you guessed it...pants.
- Author Avatar
- Deadpan Snarker: Not as obvious as Aeris, but he has his moments.
- Super Zero: His name should be a clear indication. Also in his first appearance he wore a pair of underwear for a mask.
- Take That, Critics!: "Now some people weren't happy about the content of that last strip. And we can't have someone not happy. Not on the INTERNET."
Other Characters
A big red demon who talks in the third person.
- Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Last seen parodying Ghostbusters.
You know that annoying guy who sits in the back of the store all day and won't shut up about ANYTHING that interests him? Ternaldo's much worse.
- Fan Boy: Of everything from trading card games to RPGs.
- Serious Business: Card games and a few other things. In his first comic he accidentally bends the edge of a card and freaks out.
A strange shopkeeper who has made a few appearances over the course of the series.
- Driven to Suicide: Thanks to Ternaldo...
- In the Hood: Even when he's running his store.
- Pun: "It's a nutsack."
A street bum who appears from time to time. He is quite insane.
- Ambiguously Brown: In Days of Future Past and That Show That's Not Bob's Burgers, He is shown as having dark skin, despite not actually being dark-skinned to begin with (Two robots walk into a bar...).
