- Cast of Snowflakes: In true Dangan Ronpa fashion.
- Gender-Equal Ensemble: Besides Hibiki, who is the only nonbinary character, the gender divide between girls and boys is exactly equal.
- You All Meet in a Cell: The characters all meet each other for the first time trapped inside the SS Despair.

- Amnesiac Hero: After passing out in the prologue, Hibiki states that they don't remember anything.
- Berserk Button: Hibiki doesn't like it when people tell them what to do or think they know more than they do.
- In the prologue, Hibiki gets pretty pissed when Mamugi tells them not to touch the alcohol.
- When they found out that Daichi committed murder and tried to frame them for it, they got pissed. And that's putting it lightly.
- Brutal Honesty: A little reserved about it, but they definitely wouldn't hold back the truth.
- Deadpan Snarker: This occurs in their internal monologue, and sometimes even out loud.
- First-Person Smartass: Definitely. Their thoughts are constantly filled with snide remarks.
- Good Is Not Nice: The 'hero' of our story... who's actually a massive dick.
- Idiot Hair: As expected of a Danganronpa protagonist, Hibiki has an ahoge.
- Insufferable Genius: They've got a big brain and an ego to match.Hibiki: I don’t need to read. I know everything already.
- Jerkass: Hibiki just generally isn't a very nice person.
- The Protagonist: The literal protagonist of the story.
