A little girl with the power to use wishes from the Wishing Tree. True is recognisable for her warm heart, clever mind, and boundless energy. She accepts every challenge head on with a beaming smile. What makes her “truly” extraordinary is that she is the only one in the Rainbow Kingdom who can activate the Wishes’ special powers that unleash magical energy. Each time her Wishes are granted by The Wishing Tree, she always makes sure to thank it.
- Color Failure: Not like she had a choice, but in "Cosmic Sneeze", the Wachoogieboogies temporarily turned her hair from blue to pink.

Bartleby
- Voiced by: Jamie Watson (English)
True's cat companion. Bartleby is one opinionated kitty. He provides a lot of commentary, which helps trigger True's creative problem-solving skills. Only his best friend True knows him to be really a coward, but still enjoys him.
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: He is a cat who has indigo fur
- Cat Ninja: "The Kittynati" focused on him training to become a ninja.
- Color Failure: Not like he had a choice, but in "Cosmic Sneeze", the Wachoogieboogies temporarily turned his fur green.
- Innocent Blue Eyes: To match True's.
- Sudden Anatomy: His arms usually end with featureless nubs, but hands appear when he needs to use them.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Fishy poof crackers.
Zee
- Voiced by: Dante Zee (English, Seasons 1-2), Nicolas Aqui (English, Season 3), Valérie Gagné (French)
The Rainbow King's apprentice and keeper of the Wishes. One or two years older than True, Zee is a trained "Wishologist", which means he takes care of the Wishes and knows all about their strengths and powers. Once a problem arises in the kingdom, True seeks out his advice and wish help in the Wishing Tree, at which point Zee invites True to think about the problem with him.
- Color Failure: Not like he had a choice, but in "Cosmic Sneeze", Zee had greater changes in his colours when the Wachoogieboogies turned him all kinds of colors. First, Zee turned completely chartreuse, then his hair turned purple and teal, then his skin turned white with rainbow spots, then his entire body turned gray. He gets cured, though.
- Curtains Match the Windows: Has purple hair and purple eyes.
- It's All My Fault: His reaction to the Wishopedia being destroyed has him be afraid that the Rainbow King will punish him. At least the King is friendly enough to instead talk with him.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: You know the Wachoogieboogies are a serious illness when their side effects cause him to freak out.
Grizelda
- Voiced by: Anna Claire Bartlam (English)
The (supposed) princess of the Rainbow Kingdom.
- Cool Crown: Hers appears to be made out of translucent crystal.
- Curtains Match the Windows: Has golden hair and eyes.
- Primary-Color Champion: Has blonde (yellow) hair, a red dress, and blue (albeit very light) accessories (crown, shoes).
- Proper Tights with a Skirt: She wears white tights.
- Royal Brat: Mostly. However, she usually pulls through.
- Squee: Whenever she's excited, she tends to clap her hands and squeal with glee.
- Technicolor Eyes: Yellow eyes are rare in the real world, yet Grizelda has them.
Frookie
Frookie is the love of Grizelda's life, being carried around by her wherever she goes. Frookie also loves to lick and pounce on Bartleby, to his disliking.
- Affectionate Nickname: Grizelda gives him many of these, like Frookie-kins, Frookie-wookie, Frookie-muffin and many more.
- Cool Crown: To match Grizelda's.
- Cloud Cuckoo Lander: He can be quite absent-minded.
- The Ditz: Frookie can be a bit airheaded, but he still means well.
- Dogs Are Dumb: Not the brightest puppy in the kingdom.
- Fish Eyes: Most of the time. Other times he can keep his eyes focused on things.
- Idle Rich: Most notable with him sitting down and panting.
- Kindhearted Simpleton: Frookie can be a bit naive but he's quite affectionate, mostly to Grizelda, True, and Bartleby.
- Precious Puppy: It's clearly obvious.
- Puppy-Dog Eyes: Does this in "Friendship Day."
The Rainbow King
- Voiced by: Eric Peterson (English)
The ruler of the Rainbow Kingdom. The Rainbow King is the opposite to his cousin Glummy Glooma, as he is a chipper person while the latter is gloomy and negative.
- Black Bead Eyes: Has these, in contrast of True, Bartleby, Zee, Grizelda, and Frookie who all have big eyes with colored irises.
- Cartoon Creature: He and all his subjects are solid-colored, sometimes humanoid-sometimes pill-shaped beings with minimal features.
- Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": He's only known as the "Rainbow King", his real name is unknown. Unless the audience is meant to assume that IS his real name.
- Mister Big: While roughly on par in size with every other Cartoon Creature in the show, he is regularly accompanied by enormous bodyguards.
- Primary-Color Champion: He's white, red, blue, and yellow.
- Ridiculously Cute Critter: Anyone who's seen him would agree.
- Really 700 Years Old: Over 300,000,000 years old according to "A Snoozy Sleepover".
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: He is a competent leader, and the Rainbow Kingdom couldn't ask for a better king compared to him.
- Unusual Euphemism: All of his exclamations, which all involve color (well, it is the Rainbow Kingdom).
- Older Than They Look: Repeat, he is over 300,000,000.
The Living Sea
- Black Bead Eyes: Just like the Rainbow King.
- Blob Monster: A very friendly example of this trope.
