Jake Sterling

• Big Ego, Hidden Depths: He seems like an arrogant bully towards the music club, but he's a genuinely good guy who feels guilty about it, and love singing himself.
• Dogged Nice Guy: Towards Daisy. In fact, the whole reason the series even happened was because Daisy asked him to join the music club- which he agrees to, even though he's bullied them for a while.
• It Never Gets Any Easier: Jake has gone through hell and back ever since middle school.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Starts out as a straight example, being a decent guy who was a bully due to some Toxic Friend Influence. Heavily downplayed later on.
• Peer-Pressured Bully: Jake became a part of the Gang of Bullies because if he hadn't joined them, he'd have continued to be bullied instead.
• Took a Level in Kindness: Jake starts off as a real bully, but becomes nicer as the series progresses.

Hailey Austin

• Ambiguously Absent Parent: Her biological mom is nowhere to be seen nor is she mentioned at all.
• Nice Girl: Downplayed, as she isn't always polite, especially not to the bullies, but she's friendly and kind to her friends and acquaintances.
• Ship Tease: Nothing's explicitly stated, but she's heavily implied to have a crush on Jake.
• Team Mom: She is the club president, after all. She's one of the more mature members of the music club, and she looks out for them, as seen in episode 3 when she comforts Milly.
• Tsundere:
  Jake: Well, you didn't deny that I'm handsome.
  Hailey: (blushing) Y-you're delusional!

Zander Wickham

• Official Couple: With Luke, as of Episode 5.
• Do Not Call Me "Paul": He hates being called "Alex".

Milly Brooks

• Fiery Redhead: Has short, bright red hair that fades to a hot pink ombré and has an aggressive and boisterous personality.
• Genki Girl: She is one of the most cheerful and energetic characters in the show, and is often shown goofing around with the other members of the music club.

Luke Peterson

• Official Couple: With Zander, as of Episode 5.

Sean Everett

• Big Brother Instinct: Acts as an older brother figure to the music club due to not only being the eldest member but also due to his friendly and caring nature.

Sadie

• The Quiet One: She doesn't talk much, the only times when we see her talk is when she needs to go through something, cheer(?) someone on, or to quiet down the class.

Daisy

• Extracurricular Enthusiast: She does dance, works at the animal shelter, and is president of the student council (Head Girl) until the finale.
• Innocent Blue Eyes: She is sweet and innocent and has blue eyes.
• Nice Girl: One of the nicest characters in the show. She's even the one who encouraged Jake to follow his dreams and not let others stop him from doing what he loves when he was being bullied in middle school.

Drew

• Ambiguously Bi: He cares for Zoey, but he also seems to have some sort of crush on/very tiny obsession with Jake (As teased by Henry and Liam).
• Green-Eyed Monster: After Drew breaks up with Zoey and Jake leaving his side completely, he breaks. He confronts Hailey and accuses her of being manipulative towards Jake (which is very ironic) and tries to mentally bring her down. He even calls Jake a freak after he is rightfully called out for never supporting his friend's dream by Jake himself.
• New Friend Envy: He is not fond of the music club at all. Thus Jake joining them and having gotten closer to them made him incredibly mad and somewhat disappointed.
• Rich Bitch: He's rich and a bitch.

Liam

• Actually Not a Vampire: In his official bio he is described as "The Music Freaks creepy vampire", and his favorite food and color is blood. But no vampire jokes or anything vampire related is said in the show.
• I Banged Your Mom: He didn't bang any bodies moms thankfully, but he did joke about Stacys mom being hot.

Zoey

• Alpha Bitch: Is one of the most popular girls in school, and is known for being a notorious bully who torments students who are less popular including Milly when they were in middle school.
• Gold Digger: She is in a relationship with Drew, only because of his wealthy background. Little does he know that she secretly hooks up with a "sugar daddy" behind his back.
