The Goomba Himself
The Goomba
I’ve got everything I need right here. [Looks at Dusty GBA] Yep, everything I’ll ever need.
The main character of the show. A lonely Goomba forever stuck between the first set of pipes in 1-1.
- Accentuate the Negative: The number of positive things he has to say about each game he plays can be counted on one hand.
- Affably Evil: Despite being a minion, he's rather okay (though sometimes creepy) to everyone.
- Arc Fatigue: In-universe. In his Cooking Mama review, after being badly burnt in Bowser's kitchen, Goomba mentions how he actually misses being stuck between the two pipes.
- Ascended Extra: He is based on the second Goomba in World 1-1 of Super Mario Bros., who walks between two pipes with seemingly no way out.
- Barbie Doll Anatomy: Has a visible anus but mentions having no balls.
- Cloud Cuckoo Lander: At times.
- Collision Damage: When a fan asked how he can lift things when he has no hands he says that all goombas are telekinetic and this is what hurts Mario when he walks into them.
- Deadpan Snarker: Makes constant snide remarks to whatever shitty game he plays.
- Fourth-Wall Mail Slot: Despite seemingly only having his game systems, Goomba is able to communicate through one of these whenever he does an "Ask Goomba" video.
- Go Mad from the Isolation: His situation with the two pipes.
- Hated by All: Nearly everyone who accompanies him in Goomba's reviews range from barely tolerating to outright hating him by the end.
- Subverted with Gaijin Goombah, who slowly began to warm up to him during their many reviews.
- His Name Really Is "Barkeep": In his review of LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge he says his parents named him Lonely Goomba and shows his birth certificate.
- Lovable Sex Maniac: He gleefully plays up his attraction to Peach, Jessica Rabbit and the girl from Feel the Magic, and given his reaction to Gaijin Goombah appearing in his The Powerpuff Girls review, he's not above appealing to the lads, either. Subverted when he gets annoyed at Mario chasing after Daisy in Super Mario Land.
- Offscreen Inertia: After Mario went through 1-1, he has been trapped between the two pipes for thirty years, only recently having the outlet of video games to spend time.
- Oop North: He has a very strong Northern English accent.
- The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: At no point in the show has he ever fought Mario. Up until his Call of Duty review, and even then Mario beats him so badly he winds up in a coma.
- Sanity Slippage: Justified. Staying inbetween two pipes for an incredibly long time with only shitty games to entertain yourself with is bound to make you insane.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: Is quite the sailor mouth. When commenters started complaining about it, he linked to a "family-friendly" version of his channel which turned out to be a Cluster F-Bomb song.
- Telekinesis: Says goombas have this when a fan asks how he can manage with no hands.
- Villain Protagonist: He DOES work for Bowser.
- Wasteful Wishing: When he collected all seven Dragon Balls, he used his three wishes to get new batteries for his Gameboy, a recycle bin for the old batteries and a copy of Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors.
- Even before that, after defeating Shitsigamey and saving the world, when his greatest wish is granted it’s… a Nintendo DS. Even Gajin In-Universe points out how useless his wish is.
Other Characters
Shroobs
A duo of Shroobs from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. They mistakenly abduct Goomba onto their ship.
- Accidental Kidnapping: Subverted. They mistake Goomba for Gaijin Goombah and brings him onto their spaceship, simply wanting his autograph. Goomba of course, mistakes this as a real kidnapping.
- Get Out!: They say this to Goomba repeatedly throughout the episode after realizing that he isn't Gaijin Goombah.
Mr. Blizzard
A magical snowman that Goomba created. He holds a lot of contempt towards Goomba due to his behavior.
- Back from the Dead: Goomba brings him back for his Santa Claus is Coming to Town review after melting in the previous Christmas Episode.
- The Bus Came Back: He makes a non Christmas Episode return in Goomba's Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter review.
- Deadpan Snarker
- Driven to Suicide: Commits suicide after having too much of the Goomba's terrible singing. Though he knows that eventually Goomba is going to revive him again for another Christmas Episode.
- Excuse Plot: As Goomba's conscience, his excuse for convincing Goomba to play Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter is a simple, "Now play the goddamn game, or you'll die...or some shit like that." Justified in that Goomba needs to reach the game's ending to find out that he's been in a coma and to wake up.
- Genre Savvy: He's aware that even if though he's going to die, he'll likely be revived for another Christmas Episode. He then warns Goomba to never revive him ever again or else he'll be sorry.
- One-Shot Character: Lampshaded and Subverted. Goomba taunts Blizzard saying how he's never going to return for another video, but still ends up coming back in two other episodes and potentially more..
- Straight Man: To Goomba.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Again, with Goomba.
- The Voice: After Goomba erases himself from existence, Blizzard returns as a bodyless voice that tries to help him.
Shitsigamey
The god of shitty gaming. He curses Goomba along with Gaijin Goombah to finish his challenge or else he'll create the worst game ever made starring Goomba and Gaijin.
- And I Must Scream: He manages to trap Gaijin within a shitty game. He almost does the same to Goomba.
- This Cannot Be!: Goes through such a breakdown once Goomba beats the cursed game.
Future Goomba
The future version of Goomba.
- All Just a Dream: Future Goomba never existed. All the videos from the Doctor Who review to the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time review were Goomba's coma dream.
- Bad Future: He comes from a timeline where Goomba successfully killed Mario, causing Bowser to fire all his minions under the assumption that he doesn't need them anymore.
- Big Freaking Gun: It's even half his size!
- Hoist by His Own Petard: When he almost killed Goomba, Present Goomba brought his Rocket Launcher Resistant Helmet, the rocket reflects of Present Goomba's helmet, and blows Future Goomba's head up.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: His ultimate goal.
Past Goomba
The past version of Goomba.
- All Just a Dream: Present Goomba never went back in time or met his past self. All the videos from the Doctor Who review to the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time review were Goomba's coma dream.
- For Want Of A Nail: He had plans to make a Top 10 video of anime music videos, which Present Goomba reveals was his original plan until Mario dropped his Game Boy within Goomba's post.
- My Future Self and Me: Both parts of the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time review play out like this, with Present Goomba as the future self.
- Something Only They Would Say: He only believes that Present Goomba is in fact his future self once Present Goomba shows Past Goomba something he always wanted - a Nintendo DS.
Kamek
Bowser's right-hand man.
- The Dragon: He’s this to Bowser.
- Straight Man: Towards Goomba’s antics during the Trauma Center episode.
