The male protagonist of the series.

  • Accent Adaptation: In the original Japanese, he naturally speaks with a Kansai dialect. The English subtitles of the anime and the English translation of the manga adapt the moments where his dialect is especially prominent with what seems to be a type of American southern accent. Averted in the English dub of the anime, however; he isn't given any dialect that's different from the others, nor is it commented on (a piece of dialogue that had Fuyutsuki take note of his Kansai dialect in the original Japanese was changed into her saying he sounded more relaxed in the dub.)
  • An Ice Person: He's the descendant of a yuki onna, and has ice powers to go with it. How his powers react is often unintentional, but he does become better at controlling it as the series goes.
  • The Idiot from Osaka: Averted. His Kansai dialect would imply he's from that area, but personality-wise, he's generally calm, stoic, shy and kind, with a romantic side. Though he does become a bit more emotional when it comes to cute things, especially Fuyutsuki.
  • Meaningful Name: His family name, Himuro, means "ice house." His personal name, Yukiya, means "snow arrow." Both fitting for the descendant of a yuki onna with ice powers.
  • Mystical White Hair
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Downplayed. He tends to look stoic in front of others but his countenance crumbles when looking at cute things, including Fuyutsuki.
  • Yuki Onna: He's descended from one, which explains his ice powers.
    Fuyutsuki

The female protagonist of the series.

  • Kind Hearted Cat Lover: She owns a cat named Nyamero, and is fond of a children's show about a cat named George the Kitten, and she's a kind, if somewhat stoic young woman.
  • Meaningful Name: Her personal name, Fuyutsuki, means "winter moon," fitting both her cool personality and her being the love interest of the descendant of a yuki onna. Her personal name, Mio, means "beautiful cherry blossom," which could be a reference to Himuro's crush on her and also his fondness of flowers.
  • Nice Girl: While, given her calm and collected disposition, she can come across as somewhat aloof but she is a very kind young woman with a genuinely caring and helpful nature.
  • Oblivious to Love: For much of the series, she's unaware of Himuro's crush on her, even when it's obvious to everyone else.
  • The Quiet One: She's fairly reserved, and has a calm, quiet, almost stoic disposition.
  • Unknowingly in Love: Despite her telling Komori and Otonashi that she's never been in love with anyone before and that she sees Himuro as simply as a friend, it's heavily implied she does have feelings for him, but is oblivious about her own feelings towards him.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Downplayed and/or Subverted. Given her calm and quiet nature, she may seem rather distant at times but she's frequently shown to be a kind and sweet person indeed.

  • Ship Tease: With Komori.

Himuro's younger sister and a high school student.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Himuro sees her as this at times.
  • Family Theme Naming: Both her and Himuro's first names begin with "yuki," meaning "snow."
  • An Ice Person: Like Himuro.
  • Meaningful Name: While her name is written in hiragana, meaning determining the exact meaning isn't as easy, the "yuki" part almost certainly is meant to mean the Japanese word for "snow," referencing her being a yuki onna descendant.
  • Mystical White Hair: She has white hair and ice/snow related powers.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: She's much more openly emotional and outgoing compared to her more reserved older brother. Also, she upfront tells Fuyutsuki she loves her, unlike Himuro, who is too shy to tell out for much of the series.
  • Yuki Onna: The descendant of one, like her older brother, Himuro.

    Chief Budda

Voiced by: Takashi Matsuyama (JP), Shawn Gann (EN)

The CEO of the company the main couple work at.

  • Ambiguous Situation: It's unclear if he's actually a descendant of a Buddha or just looks and acts an awful lot like one.
  • Benevolent Boss: He treats his employees very well.
  • Nice Guy: Budda is consistently depicted as affable and rarely gets angry.
