Dark Student Council

  • Absurdly Powerful Student Council: Well, they're called a student council, even if they don't really seem to fit the strict definition of one.
    • For example, one member is a shark. A really big, talking shark.
  • Utopia Justifies the Means: They plan to put Japan back on top as a world-class powerhouse nation...by completely destroying it and reworking it from the ground up.

Masaki Hoshikari

  • Gratuitous English: Half of Jiryoku Bancho's dialogue consists of near-nonsensical Engrish.
  • Healing Factor: Looks like this but it is really adding metal to his armor.
  • Living Shadow: Looks like one, but it's actually an armor of iron dust that is covering him..

Tsuchiua Mahori

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/220px-Drill_Banchou_8615.jpg

  • Big Damn Heroes: Saves Yuu's siblings by digging a hole under Gedou Bancho's explosions.
  • Noble Demon: Saves his ally, protects Yuu's siblings, and does not attack Yuu when he's unconscious. He's a pretty decent guy.

Hanzo Aniwa

  • Evil Gloating: Does this over the Bancho Alliance, even though they can't hear him, since he put them all to sleep with his sound waves.

Shidou and Shirou

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px-Mujyun_Banchou_6856.jpg

  • Calling Your Attacks: Hyaku Raimei Dousen (Hundred Rumbling Thunder Flashes) and Gouraku Dankaisyou (Mighty Landslide).
  • Kick the Dog: They kick their unconscious allies and strike Sasori Bancho from behind.
  • Lack of Empathy: Kicking their unconscious allies out of the way after they've lost.

Meiko Orenji/Kaizou Bancho

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px-IMG_1005_9977.jpg

  • All of the Other Reindeer: Meiko is a brilliant mechanical scientist despite her very young age. However, her genius made other kids reject her.

Four Dark Emperors

Kenji Isaki/Kenpei Bancho

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px-Kenpei_Banchou_5550.jpg

  • Ax-Crazy: Has a sword that can kill you in four ways at once.
  • Blood Knight: Wants to have his sword sing in battle, does not like weak opponents.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Has a belt blade in case his other blade proves useless.
  • Cool Sword: Canaria, a sword designed to not only cut but also to smash, gouge, piece, and saw a person's body.
    • Fugutaiten (cannot allow the sworn enemy to live in this world): Kenpei Banchou brings out his secret sword, his true master weapon—an extremely flexible and long blade that is wrapped around his arm like a belt. It is very thin and extremely sharp. Thanks to its lightness and length it can even cut skyscrapers apart.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Claims that he shares Bungaku Bancho's affection for Takeshi, but mostly just seems to really like it when Takeshi gets angry. Presumably because Takeshi getting angry means that a lot of stuff is going to get busted and a lot of people are going to get hurt.
  • Psycho for Hire: Joins the Dark Student Council just so he can kill people.
  • The Sociopath: He designed his sword Canaria to do as many different types of damage as possible just to cause his targets more pain.

Shiori Kamitsu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px-Bungaku_Banchou_3086.jpg

  • Evil Genius: Being extremely sharp-minded, talented, strong, and perceptive she is the perfect person for coordinating all of Nippon Banchou's plans.
  • Gender Bender: Often the transformations are male, especially Takeshi.
  • Informed Ability: Set up to appear much more dangerous than her allies, but it's only when she turns into Takeshi that she even stands a chance against Akira.
  • Shapeshifting: Due to her Omega Placebo, the ability based on genetically restructering her body through stimulation of her imagination into what she imagines.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Despite her confidence, Akira easily puts down her transformations till she turned into Takeshi.
  • Yandere: Has a mad obsession with Takeshi, even turning into him at the finale of her fight with Akira.

Mudou Gou

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Gedou_Bancho_2502.jpg

  • Evil Gloating: Gloats about how he killed Yuu's family and how he killed Medicine Bancho's family in six hours.
  • Kick the Dog: Poisons Yuu's siblings and causes their home to explode with them in it.
  • Knight of Cerebus: While the show is mostly light-hearted Shōnen, his tactics are monstrous by this show's standards.
  • The Sociopath: A very low-functioning example-he has no empathy for others and lives to cause suffering.

Ryuusenji Kounosuke

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ousama_Bancho_4083.jpg

  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Once was a lab researcher till he came up with a way to create Bancho using the Kongoh as a basis. He also made himself into a large Bancho capable of briefly fighting against Akira.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: gives Akira the same injection that made Takeshi stronger as a last kick to the pants.

Eco Bancho, Nourinsusan Bancho and Gekikotsu Bancho

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Eco_Bancho_Nourinsusan_Bancho__Gekitotsu_Bancho_8424.jpg

  • Kick the Dog: Destroys precious memorials in the reconstruction of Japan.

Goumon and Juujika Bancho

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Goumon_Torture_and_Juujika_Cross_Bancho_6021.jpg

  • Reptiles Are Abhorrent: Juujika Bancho uses what looks a like an oversized piece of thorny briar. It's actually a Thorn Boa.
  • Hypocrite: Any follower of Christianity would chide Juujika for associating himself with a snake.
